Ansel's performance as Agustus is absolutely incredible. He doesn't hold back one bit, he just immerses himself completely in his character. This scene is so sad, but so beautifully done. And for those of you who say that you laughed at this, to answer your questions: yes, you do come off as a horrible person. Commenting something that implies you find this scene comical is just heartless. There is nothing funny about this scene, he is portraying a fatally ill teenager who has completely lost hope. He drools and cries because that is something that would actually happen to a person in real life. He wasn't just trying to act, he was becoming a cancer patient as best as he could. And he did a wonderful job. So stop mocking this scene with your childish laughter, and learn to embrace the beauty of it.
+Cassidy Jones My favorite part was when he died.
***** lol

Excuse me, you're not one who can call someone else an idiot, do you even know what proper grammar and punctuation are? I doubt it. Also, how in the hell am I trying to be a victim? Clearly you're the idiot if that's how you interpreted my comment. I'm not personally offended by people's comments; I think they are rude and unnecessary. That's why I commented. And you should probably learn to read as well, because I never once implied that people were saying cancer is funny.
Cassidy Jones by attacking other peoples opinions aggressively, then getting upset when someone does the same, see in the England language we call this HYPOCRISY.
+sina madani I don't think she attacked anyone "aggressively". She was stating her opinion, that's all. And unlike you she didn't call people "fucking idiot". So I think it's you who should stop attacking others opinions aggressively for no reason in such a childish way.
Reading the book, I cried so hard at this part.
i just finished the book like 10 minutes ago and i started crying at that point and cried until the book was over.
BreezyIsCheezy same!
Tori Dean yah
t d same I didn't even cry when he fixed becuase this took all my tears while I was reading! JESUS it was 2 in the morning and I was bawling!
t d ikr i just finished the book
Ansel Elgort was INCREDIBLE in this scene. He had so much raw emotion that I cry every time I see it.
This scene gutted me in the book. Gus was like this perfect untouchable angel who never faltered. And then he broke. Physically and mentally he broke. And it was so so awful to see him fall.
Ansel's acting here was phenomenal. You could definitely tell Gus was in a lot of pain, as he called her Hazel as opposed to Hazel Grace :(
I'm crying so hard and my parents come in and they think I'm weird now.
Oh... Ehm... Ok
That's normal for me
me tooooo

'One thing that is certain is that we're all going to die, eventually. So does that make us all terminally ill?'
Yes with sin
I never thought of it that way it's a great interpretation
If you begin to die before you were previously expected too, you become terminally ill
🤯
This was an important scene, why would they take this out?!
ikr!
It's in the extended version.
Dayra Cruz
maybe you have the extended version. Cause the version I have doesn't show her telling Gus the Red Wheelbarrow.
Ikr!!!
PRISCILLA KWARTENG The poem
According to me they deleted 3 importants scenes
-> Isaac in hospital
-> when we see John Green in the airport when a little girl talk to Hazel about what she has in her nose
-> and this one
Thank you, when I watched the movie those scenes were not there
What's the movie and the book name ??
@@shikhamanibarman1777 like the video's title -> the fault in our stars
as a male viewer this movie even made me cry, its not so much the story but the acting was done so well by all these guys, especially these two,but he's sick, his best friend goes blind, then his girl is sick on oxygen, its like damn so much negatives at once. Ansel & Shai killed it.
I mean he didn’t have to date Hazel, she already had cancer when they met
Another thing that would've made the film more sad is if they included Augustus' ex girlfriend from the book, Caroline. After Caroline was diagnosed with a brain tumor, Augustus tells Hazel how she slowly became more angry, cruel, and unfiltered towards him until her death. Being curious, Hazel later looks up Caroline's pictures and sees her gradually getting more sick. On her final photos online, Hazel thinks how similar she and Caroline look and starts to feel self conscious about it. Augustus later reassures her about this, saying that he doesn't see Caroline in her but Hazel still thinks this was the reason why he kept staring at her when they first met. Caroline was actually casted, along with Hazels friend from the book Kaitlyn, but were edited out before filming.
@@BrandonL_00 I like thinking that Hazel Grace and August's were each other first loves. Which makes his passing even more bittersweet.
The feels are real I am crying!!!!!
I know!!!!! ;( ;( ;( ;( ;( ;(
I literally balled my eyes out.
MissRandomAwsomeness comeback here to cry again

this scene made me cry more than any other scene in the book.
Same I'm crying so much
This scene made me think to myself, I don't think I want to watch this movie again. I think this movie was an excellent movie. It was well acted. But after this part in the movie it started to get really sad. I knew it was going to be a tear jerker, but i didn't think it was going to hit me in the gut or make my heart ache. I don't know if I should get it on DVD??? because yes it wasa very sad movie but it was a sweet movie as well, and well acted. I'm torn.
Completely agree. It was great, but I think I must've cried a few days after I watched it. Never again.
I only buy movies on dvd if I liked the movie enough to watch it again. If you buy the movie, but never watch it, you're kind of wasting money, don't you think? You're practically paying for the case rather than the actual dvd. Just a thought.
I agree this movie was a good movie. Well written, well made, overall if something makes you feel a strong emotion, I think it's a good movie, but not once since the first time I saw it, did I have the desire to rewatch it because It just has so much emotion tied to it.
HollywoodGirl wss
I think you should get it because not all of it is sad.
I only watch it up until he tells her that he’s stuck on their trip :(
i wish they had put in the phone call scene. that felt important to me. and i wish she had opened the casket
right!
Same
+Kim Dalton I think I saw the phone call scene when HBO aired the film
+BeastBoyRules52 XD i can't quite remember a phone call scene in the book, which part is it?
Christine Sumil just after augustus dies and hazel calls his phone to hear his voicemail. to me it felt like that was when she realised that he was actually gone x
Ansel's acting is incredible here
This wasn't deleted for me I rented the movie and it wasn't deleted
Same
I have the movie on dvd. The gas station scene is on there but not the part when they're inside the ambulance.
Lydia R. yeh
you probably watched the extended version
Luckyyyyyy
this was the most emotional scene for me. I can't stop watching it, it's just so raw and emotional and real. every time i just cry because that poor sweet boy just wanted to do something on his own. :(
I haven't even watched this movie. Just by watching this one scene I'm absolutely blown away by the acting. Well done.
You NEED to watch the movie (but read the book first)
I think reading the book first is best so that you can get mentally prepared for the movie 😥
+Abigail Lawrence yessss read the book first
this scene in the book was so much worse
Lemon King right I didn't cry until this part in the book and I was bawling!!! at like 1 am
Lemon King yes this is so true is gross and nasty😷 but I feel so bad for him though

Why was it nasty?
i’m so late to this but can someone explain?? please and thanks
I saw this scene in the movie...the feels.
I think if funny how they go from playing brother and sister to boyfriend and girlfriend. I bet it was a little weird.
Kendra Atkins Wait what?
Olivia Petrowski shailene woodley played tris in divergent, insurgent, and allegiant, and ansel played caleb in those movies, and caleb and tris are brother and sister. that’s what she means :)
In the book the part that made me cry the most was at his funeral when she kisses him on the cheek and says “okay..”
It was so heartbreaking seeing gus in pain
"And you say you don't write peotry" that was seriously one of my favourite quotes in the whole book. Even then, when you felt that the Augustus you had fallen in love with had faded, with that quote you realised that he was still there... wish they wouldve included it
They should've also included the scene with Isaac and the console.
While apparently just comedic, if you actually look at it, it shows how big of a hole Gus left after his demise
I just watched this movie for the first time tonight... Wow.
This is making me cry too much i ❤️ this movie so much
Every time I see this it makes me cry
honestly....this was jst an outstanding performance....its 2018 and I still come back to watch this scene so many years afterthe movies release.
His pain and desperation is so real here.
so many feels :((((
Is it just me because I replayed the scene where Hazel says " Babe what's wrong" ITS JUST SO CUTE😍❤️😍someone plz tell me I'm not the only one😑
Ella wait what happened to him
This scene tore my heart out, I can't rewatch it anymore because it's literally too much for me to handle. A solid did an incredible job playing this role.
I think this scene was so much more emotional in the book, nothing wrong with this clip I just think the words made it more powerful instead of actually seeing it, it worked better because you could interpret it for yourself and that made it more painful, at least for me.
This is a scene you can't make a joke about. It's so sad, it catches you off guard from the normally happy-go-lucky and optimistic Gus Waters. Imagine, one day, your friend is very cheery and bubbly, and then the next they're begging and crying to be killed. That's a very traumatic thing for both of you, and just as I say, you can't make jokes about trauma, and there's no excuse for it.
1:08 We been there when your family members or friend says don’t get help but don’t have a choice because you don’t want to loose any one
this is a beautiful and sweet scene.
This scene IS a deleted scene (Hazel reading the poem to Gus). It IS NOT in the theatrical version of the film that played in theaters. It IS, however, present in the EXTENDED VERSION of the film which you can buy on DVD/Blu-ray.
This scene made me cry so much and the acting is absolutely incredible
My classmates and I still can't move on because of this story. This is so nice and inspirational. Thumbs up!!!
I don't understand why did the paramedic was looking at her like that
yeah hes like so stupod
+LPS Films fu ur a jerk
Pandaman no im not i was saying what it was probably thinking
Like a confession, it was like him saying "He is going to die"
The paramedic was looking at him like that bc the poem was written by a guy that was also a doctor tending to a sick patient when he saw a red wheelbarrow outside. Also it actually is over when she paused and she made the rest up. Guessing the paramedic knew exactly what was going on.
For some reason, this scene is where I completely lost it in the theater.. Couldn't breathe I was crying so hard 😂😫
This is such an amazing and realistic film but after watching it once I don’t think I’ll ever watch it again, that’s how powerful it is
Why do I keep watching this... I'm in tears every time
They’re both so good in this scene
I have many issues with this book, mainly due to experience, but this was the ONE scene that genuinely touched me, for personal reasons. I'm pleased that the film did a good job portraying that scene.
I cried so hard you could fill up a whole bucket with my tears.
This part gets me everytime. Both in the book and the film.
This scene was so sad for me, I still cry when I watch this. TFIOS broke my heart
I AM CRYING SO HARD RIGHT NOW D: this literally breaks my heart no matter how many this i´ve watched this
I'm crying watching this scene. It's really touching.
This was one of my fav parts in this amazing book!!made me really sad!!was tearing up a bit!!
It’s definitely the saddest for me cause of his personality, funny, fun, sweet, and this really caught me off guard. But it shows how much pain he was going through and how that must be so hard. But teens and kids are going through this and it’s unimaginable. Amazing acting
The most beautiful, heartwrenching scene in the entire movie is RIGHT HERE.
First time I watched this was with my family when we use to have movie nights and we were all in shocked silence at this scene with mum and sister in tears
This movie is unforgettable ♥️
When I first saw this scene it brought tears to my eyes.
this scene mad e me cry when i first watched it and it still makes me cry.
I cried the all time. I can't hold my tears, im sorry
i have never cried about a movie till I watched the fault in our stars.
I couldn't stop crying !!!
Ansel really did that king of acting
"So much depends... on this observer of the universe."
As someone who is into Einstein's general theory of relativity, this statement hits me hard.
i just died. tears
these ppl r acting and they r perfectly fine in real life. WHY THE HECK AM I CRYING MY EYES OUT!!!!
i am fine watching this movie up until this part. i cry my eyes out every time.
I cant stop crying.
I cry even thinking about this movie, honestly 9th time watching it haven't gotten sick it
i'm crying
i cry all the times i read this book

Too beautiful 😭😭😭
the first time I saw this I was In the theater and I was crying so hard at this part.
So sad. I want to start crying my eyes out
I just watched.it for the first time last night from the redbox and this.was in the movie still.....
Breaks my heart
=C this is so sad, He was beating on the wheel saying he hated his self. I bet if this was real and i was hazel i would feel so bad, but i would have done the right thing.
I am crying so hard, it broke my heart

I love this movie so much!!!❤❤❤ (best movie ever)
I'M CRYING.
I cried so hard at this
I’m crying this is sad part ever
I loved this part soo much in the book
when I watched it, I cried and I when I watched the entire movie it was life changing at the same time scary
I only read the book but i imagened this whole scene and it was exactly as this
This movie is so sad made me cry
Why did they delete this....
I think it was because the scene had drama that intentionally would recommend Gus commiting suicide in the movie, and its supposed to be about Gus cheering Hazel up and making her happy for who she is, not the other way around. That's the storyline in the book anyway's, and in the trailer and mostly the movie. Plus its kinda gross that they showed his G-tube e.e (My opinion anyway.)
+Maddie i seen this scene in the movies with my gf, mabey they didn't show it in some areas
I'm glad I've seen this part.
Tina Marie F they did not
Tina Marie F but i watched the full movie and this scene was included.
What a great movie
Why I'm crying !!
THIS IS NOT OKAY
Brendon Urie's Forehead I know
Simone lol
I was reading this part on a flight and I controlled my urge to cry. I didn't want to break down 😭😭
I really love the book so much
I have seen the movie and I really cried
I hope there is a deleted scene in the funeral, where she open the casket.
Genius comment. 😍😍😍
