@JoeSakana I thought the remake was good. The whole reason Bluepoint was chosen to do that remake was based on their history with remaking great games like Shadows of the Colleusus for example. Although I'm doubting BP will be the ones to remake BB at least anytime soon because last I heard they were working on a new IP for the first time and not remakes.

Theory about the "queens bed chamber": there is 6 drapes above the bed. I think they represent the veil attached to the 6 divine tower that cover the shadow realm (if the shadow realm is in the center of the lands between).
Definitely a connection there. I hope they do something else with the divine towers. Maybe some bosses appear after lifting the veil, or something. Seems strange putting graces in them.

Remakes are lame imo, especially for something that's backwards compatible. BB also still looks and feels better than most modern games. BB2 would be a much stronger way to sell consoles
NDAs never really stopped leaks, and considering leak culture the past decade, its almost impossible for ppl not to definitively know something is being made with the BB IP.
I think the lack of anything with Bloodborne has more to do with the fact that FROMSOFTWARE's co-developer on Bloodborne, SIE Japan Studio, was shutdown years ago, the rumor that Sony lost the source code and doesn't know how to reverse-engineer it, or both.
The frustrating thing is, there's no way to prove it, all evidences of it doesn't exist anymore if it were the case that JP studio was involved, since they were shut down. And Miyazaki's words here were misinterpreted in the video imo, he's just stating that he can't say much about an IP that they don't own, even if they made it years ago. Sony is a terrible company for sure.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on being happy to play a Bluepoint remake. Demon's Souls gets a pass because it's the oldest one, stuck on the PS3 with not many people having played it. But remaking Bloodborne feels like rewriting the sacred texts. It's already perfect, just give it 60fps, better antialiasing, upscale some textures and it's good for another 10-15 years.
Why would he want a Bluepoint remake after the DS one was such a downgrade? I think a Bluepoint remake is a potential worst-case scenario, because then the original game gets abandoned and we are potentially stuck with a comprised remake made by a different team who already has shown to have no respect for Fromsoft's creative vision.

@@theredcomet5670I’m not a demons souls elitist, I never played the original and while cognizant of the things people were upset about I wouldn’t say it affected me personally when I played the remake. That being said, it was clear from the moment I started that there was little to no care put into art direction. The soulless ui, the title screen text with a bunch of particle effects on it, the intro cinematic that has jarring lighting (the intro is serious dogshit it looks worse than pre renders I’ve seen on ps2). Everything about it just feels more like a tech demo, the motivation for any visual element is so shallow that it sometimes makes the game look bad. Yeah it’s a video game, but people seem to look for artistic merit in souls games so that’s why people shit on the remake
My personal opinion? Miyzaka is terrified of a Bloodborne sequel. It's his peak, and he knows he can never top it. Like MJs Thriller album..always chasing that masterpiece.

I think you're overanalyzing. Miyazaki is not the owner of Bloodborne so he cannot say something is in the works or that something is not in the works, as both sentences tell players somethig, which Sony might have problems with (if they decide otherwise). Him saying he'd get into trouble for saying something doesn't have to mean Bloodborne 2/remake is in the works, it's just that Sony didn't confirm any decision on the topic and they want to keep it that way.
Miyazaki is a true visionary and genius, and in my opinion the most creative designer working today. So naturally someone like him would not waste his time with remasters. But if someone were to ask me what IP i would want From Software and more importantly Miyazaki to revist, it would definitely be Bloodborne.
What I heard is I'm going to have to hang onto my Bloodborne box (PS4) til the day I die. Though really, I think that fans have cracked and ported significant chunks of the game already and that a fan port is in the works somewhere. I'd expect Bloodborne on PC from fans before I'd ever expect it from Sony.
I disagree with your interpretation of the first interview response. It sounds to me like he's saying just what he is saying: FromSoftware does not own the Bloodborne IP, and whether it gets remastered or remade is not up to them. Furthermore, FromSoftware would not have anything to do with it. Sony would hire another company like BluePoint to do it. Asking FromSoftware about a Bloodborne remake is akin to asking BluePoint about a Sekiro sequel; it's not up to them and they wouldn't have anything to do with it if it happens.
I'm actually not worried, i've been avoiding the dlc content like the plague. I started a new character but due to lack of playing time I'm not sure if I'll be able to reach Mohg and enter the DLC. As a backup I also have a level 162 character from a previous playthrough ready to go
Totally agree. I'd be so disappointed if BB2 were to be made by another developer. The only other one that might do it justice is Neowiz/Round8 Studio. With how well they pulled off Lies of P, given more resources I could see them doing a good BB sequel. But I doubt that'd happen since they're a South Korean developer and Sony would most likely give it to another Japanese studio, or their own subsidiary Bluepoint Games.

That is what they said. Nothing about remaster, remake or sequel. And when he says "I'm not at liberty to speak" it is not because it's in the works, he literally said "we don't own the IP" so he can't say what could or should happen to the IP, it is not his.
I honestly would just prefer a remaster with a higher fps. Bloodborne was perfect and doesn’t need a sequel. A port for PC and other consoles? Sure. A spiritual successor in the form of a new IP? You bet. But not a sequel.

I find it strange that it hasn't gotten a PS5 patch, so much so that I suspect it will be released as a remake or remaster for a future console. Sony usually don't bother with ports unless they have a sequel in that franchise on its way to consoles (or HBO), so I don't expect DeS or Bloodborne on PC anytime soon sadly, but the strict no patch policy is suspicious

@@elipetrou9308 nah Japan is just ahead by around 14 hours, so it’s technically coming out at the same time for both of us, we just thought we were getting it on the 21st, when that’s really for Japan. It does depend on where you live so some ppl might get it on 21st or at 11 pm on the 20th, but tldr; we get it at the same time as Japan, it will just be a day earlier than we thought for us.
Yeah thankfully it unlocks based on your regions timezone, so here in NZ we will be getting it at 8am Washington D.C time on Thursday. This is for Xbox at least, I am not entirely sure how it works on steam and the like but on Xbox certain timezones do get access early and more timezones get access as they each reach the scheduled launch time.
I would be interested in a non-From Bloodborne. The game has inspired a huge amount of people since it came out, and I’d be interested to see what some of those people would do with a sequel.

Remakes are lame imo, especially for something that's backwards compatible. BB also still looks and feels better than most modern games.

I think the lack of anything with Bloodborne has more to do with the fact that FROMSOFTWARE's co-developer on Bloodborne, SIE Japan Studio, was shutdown years ago, the rumor that Sony lost the source code and doesn't know how to reverse-engineer it, or both.
The frustrating thing is, there's no way to prove it, all evidences of it doesn't exist anymore if it were the case that JP studio was involved, since they were shut down.
And Miyazaki's words here were misinterpreted in the video imo, he's just stating that he can't say much about an IP that they don't own, even if they made it years ago.
Sony is a terrible company for sure.

The word "remake" was never used once but Rata kept saying it. There is literally nothing in the actual interview that suggests they want a remake, Rata just says that they specifically want a "remake" right after reading an interview in which Miyazaki says, "I know these guys want a PC port" and never brings up a remake at all.

He does specifically say remastered PC port but it's unlikely they'd release a PC port without remastering it.

It doesn't matter who you are, you would be batshit insane to accept making a Bloodborne 2 in FromSoft's place.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on being happy to play a Bluepoint remake. Demon's Souls gets a pass because it's the oldest one, stuck on the PS3 with not many people having played it. But remaking Bloodborne feels like rewriting the sacred texts. It's already perfect, just give it 60fps, better antialiasing, upscale some textures and it's good for another 10-15 years.
Why would he want a Bluepoint remake after the DS one was such a downgrade? I think a Bluepoint remake is a potential worst-case scenario, because then the original game gets abandoned and we are potentially stuck with a comprised remake made by a different team who already has shown to have no respect for Fromsoft's creative vision.

This is also seen by the rather very high reviews. But as I said, I suppose a simple difference in opinion. Personally I believe that they took practically a dead game and remade it in a way that newer fans can play it and enjoy it on newer gen hardware.

Regardless, if you have any respect for video games as an artform, you should want a port over a remake if we can't have both. Regardless of your personal feelings on the DS remake. Also, going off of reviews is a meme. You should watch Rata's video on the remake if you think the problem was "one slightly worse design on an officer enemy" because there were a lot more issues than just the fat official.
@@theredcomet5670I’m not a demons souls elitist, I never played the original and while cognizant of the things people were upset about I wouldn’t say it affected me personally when I played the remake. That being said, it was clear from the moment I started that there was little to no care put into art direction. The soulless ui, the title screen text with a bunch of particle effects on it, the intro cinematic that has jarring lighting (the intro is serious dogshit it looks worse than pre renders I’ve seen on ps2). Everything about it just feels more like a tech demo, the motivation for any visual element is so shallow that it sometimes makes the game look bad. Yeah it’s a video game, but people seem to look for artistic merit in souls games so that’s why people shit on the remake
My personal opinion? Miyzaka is terrified of a Bloodborne sequel. It's his peak, and he knows he can never top it. Like MJs Thriller album..always chasing that masterpiece.

I think you're overanalyzing. Miyazaki is not the owner of Bloodborne so he cannot say something is in the works or that something is not in the works, as both sentences tell players somethig, which Sony might have problems with (if they decide otherwise). Him saying he'd get into trouble for saying something doesn't have to mean Bloodborne 2/remake is in the works, it's just that Sony didn't confirm any decision on the topic and they want to keep it that way.

Miyazaki is a true visionary and genius, and in my opinion the most creative designer working today. So naturally someone like him would not waste his time with remasters. But if someone were to ask me what IP i would want From Software and more importantly Miyazaki to revist, it would definitely be Bloodborne.

I disagree with your interpretation of the first interview response. It sounds to me like he's saying just what he is saying: FromSoftware does not own the Bloodborne IP, and whether it gets remastered or remade is not up to them. Furthermore, FromSoftware would not have anything to do with it. Sony would hire another company like BluePoint to do it. Asking FromSoftware about a Bloodborne remake is akin to asking BluePoint about a Sekiro sequel; it's not up to them and they wouldn't have anything to do with it if it happens.
Maybe Shadow of the Erdtree was the Bloodborne we made along the way

I'm actually not worried, i've been avoiding the dlc content like the plague. I started a new character but due to lack of playing time I'm not sure if I'll be able to reach Mohg and enter the DLC. As a backup I also have a level 162 character from a previous playthrough ready to go
Totally agree. I'd be so disappointed if BB2 were to be made by another developer. The only other one that might do it justice is Neowiz/Round8 Studio. With how well they pulled off Lies of P, given more resources I could see them doing a good BB sequel. But I doubt that'd happen since they're a South Korean developer and Sony would most likely give it to another Japanese studio, or their own subsidiary Bluepoint Games.
All we need is a solid HD PC version at 60fps. Then it can live forever.

You are misrepresenting and failing to differentiate the topics. Miyazaki replied to the question about a PC port, not a remake or a sequel. The guys at FromSoft want a PC port. That is what they said. Nothing about remaster, remake or sequel. And when he says "I'm not at liberty to speak" it is not because it's in the works, he literally said "we don't own the IP" so he can't say what could or should happen to the IP, it is not his.
I honestly would just prefer a remaster with a higher fps. Bloodborne was perfect and doesn’t need a sequel. A port for PC and other consoles? Sure. A spiritual successor in the form of a new IP? You bet. But not a sequel.

I find it strange that it hasn't gotten a PS5 patch, so much so that I suspect it will be released as a remake or remaster for a future console.
Sony usually don't bother with ports unless they have a sequel in that franchise on its way to consoles (or HBO), so I don't expect DeS or Bloodborne on PC anytime soon sadly, but the strict no patch policy is suspicious

tldr; we get it at the same time as Japan, it will just be a day earlier than we thought for us.
Yeah thankfully it unlocks based on your regions timezone, so here in NZ we will be getting it at 8am Washington D.C time on Thursday.
This is for Xbox at least, I am not entirely sure how it works on steam and the like but on Xbox certain timezones do get access early and more timezones get access as they each reach the scheduled launch time.

I think if your copuim is right and something truly is in the works, and they really are just like…keeping it a secret? I think it’s really weird for Sony (since from will get in trouble for talking about it) for keeping it a secret and not telling us what’s in the works.
