I'm thinking of having another horizontal bar joining the elbows and use a three way elbow in place of the regular elbow. Do you think it would work? The vertical supports would obviously need to be longer at say 86". Should it also be thicker, say 2"?

80 bucks that seems like a bargain. I’d imagine this project today would be at least 100-140. Still worth it though. Looks very sturdy! Great design!
