A note for the next person who comes along... if you have a newer SR5 with the Toyota Safety Sensor in the front grill, there are 2 extra bolts in the center of the grill you’ll need to remove and you’ll need to disconnect the sensor plug at the center of the grille. Also, there a plug near the drivers side fog light that you’ll need to disconnect.
About to do this to my 2020 SR5. Mine is red, so I am going to replace the top trim piece as well (the piece just above the raptor lights). Never pulled a bumper cover before so I am a little nervous about it, and I know there are a couple of extra bolts for the TSS sensor. Honestly, the top wheel well piece is the one that concerns me the most. But your video is the best I have seen so far, so I appreciate the detail. Looks great, and like your other comment, the Raptor Lights are starting to grow on me. Just realized yall are in Katy. Pretty dominate football program down there lol. Much respect from the DFW.
Definitely take your time and be careful with plastic tabs. The rest of it should be pretty easy. Make sure you disconnect your sensor before pulling the bumper off and once you unhook those side fender tabs it'll basically almost come completely off. Recommend having a friend to help you remove it just so it doesn't scratch against the floor. We have the rear part coming up soon so stay tune for that one. Cheers to the DFW bro 👍
That’s great, but how does that bottom grill attach? Bought one with no bumper and bought the parts, but there is no attachment points for the bottom grill, and a metal bracket on one side only
Dope stuff! Thanks for the walkthrough. Out of curiosity, do you know if the new black valance panel come with guidelines for the front license plate holes? Or do you have to find the alignment yourself? Thanks again!
Can you please put a link on where you bought the front valance? And also a link for the back valance if you have already have one? Thanks in advance! Super useful channel. Big props!
Great video. I’m currently ordering parts to do this retrofit on my 2021 SR5. The license plate mount is the same with or without the valence? Thank you!
I have a 2019 TRD off-road premium. Since I already have that ugly silver valance, I assume it would be a one for one swap for me with this kit? Thanks
Yeah you wouldn’t have to cut anything, just swap the old one or if you wanna save money, wrap or paint the silver one to black. I believe they are the same
@@FlakeGarage you’re correct, but my the silver on my OEM valance started peeling off. The problem is, about 1/5 of it is still left on and I would have to sand it or use some type of chemical to get the rest of it removed. I tried picking at it and it just leaves marks in the plastic.
I don’t think I’ve heard anyone use that but if you do, I’d recommend some industrial strength tape and also to be prepared to lose the pieces at some point
@@FlakeGarage thx. I might give it a try, because I mean the TRD pro front grille valance cover is double sided tape and some body kits also. Not much to lose
Here is a link to replica clips amzn.to/3wreQDJ but you can walk into Toyota and ask them for the valance clips and they should know which ones they are. Hope that helps

Thanks for the note Ross. We'll pin it for others to see hopefully
Looks good! I plan on having most of the front of my ORP redone since a lot of stone chips. Been thinking about the pro style grille too

Would been nice to see all the lights on!
Looks good! You can also use a brand new razor blade to cut the bumper. It’s a little easier that way.
That could work just fine as well
Great job. Personally I'm gonna have an auto shop vinyl wrap my front valance in black
That’s definitely a cheaper most cost effective way

The new valance does have two markings in it for where you should drilled your new plate
@@FlakeGarage awesome stuff, thanks for the info!
Hello, great video. Do you have a video for the rear valance or know of one?
I’m having the rear install uploaded soon. Stay tuned for later this week or early next week and part 2 will be up
Can you please put a link on where you bought the front valance? And also a link for the back valance if you have already have one? Thanks in advance! Super useful channel. Big props!
Everything is in the description

Yeah it should be the same, you just gotta drill the holes
1st to like and comment... TRD conversion looks tops👍👍👍not a fan of Raptor lights though
Joe definitely wanted the lights. They've grown on me a bit but I wouldn't want them for my truck lol The valances do make a world of difference tho
What was the total cost of the upgrade? Thinking about doing it myself. Very nice work
Around $400, give or take, with the rep pro grille added along with the valances

The valance link in your description says it’s not going to fit an sr5?
That’s correct because the valance is tag for trd pros. The reason why it fits the sr5 is if you cut the parts we mentioned in the video
Has anyone just used double sided thick adhesive tape / foam for this ??

You don't have a link for just the grill and the piece that says Toyota. What kit is that?
That's just a trd pro replica grille kit. Something like this amzn.to/3xMrcWZ
@@FlakeGarage thanks!
@@FlakeGarage The link is dead. Can you link it again or give name of the seller?
What kinda clips or how should i look it up to buy them?

From which model have the holes been marked, you know?
They are marked for the valance. Can be off road valance or trd pro valance
@@FlakeGarage Okay I got a 4Runner SR5 2017 and I don’t know if the SR5 already have market the holes
The bumper is marked in all models. This video we are converting an SR5 to the trd look
What headlights are those?
