- ■Sermon Summary
Here is the special sermon dedicated to "Just Peace Sunday" in the UCC.
Rev. Jillian Hutton's sermon, based on Romans 12:9-21, emphasizes the need for genuine love, humility, and radical hospitality, even toward enemies. She draws connections to figures like Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi, advocating non-violent resistance and agape love. Through personal stories and reflections, she encourages the congregation to actively live out justice and peace, both in their community and the wider world.
Rev. Jill also praises our church’s efforts with the Northwest Detention Center, Orphans Africa, and the Key Peninsula Food Bank, highlighting how small acts of kindness contribute to a more hopeful, peaceful society.
