Just bought the Highline (mid variant) 1.0 AT. Received delivery on the 29th of Feb. Had the 4th gen Honda City pre-facelift earlier. I feel the Taigun still does not look dated at all and personally I feel it is the second best looking car in the segment after the Creta (just my opinion). It is quite a punchy engine better than the 1.5 NAs. The mileage is not so good at around 7.5 - 8 km/l in the city while driving it sedately. But then I have done only around 600kms since delivery. There is a slight turbo lag till around 1.7k rpm but then the car really pulls very strongly. The AT gearbox is quite smooth and have not yet experienced any jerking with the gearbox. The suspension is slightly on the stiffer side but does not really feel very uncomfortable and is a good balance between handling and comfort. The brakes feel very confident and sure-footed even though there are no rear discs. Overall it is a very well packaged deal with the offers.
Own a Highline AT in Bombay from Nov 23. Drove from bom to Coorg and back. Highway mileage 18.1 on 78 CC. AC is V good after bug fix, wireless charger useless - use C type charger, unless one is planning a new phone. Suspension very stiff makes loud thud on uneven roads. Rattling sound which need fixed but no big deal. Rest all things are fine. Absolutely no regrets buying Taigun and glad we didn’t settle for the Kia Creta item numbers. VW Skida cars zillion times more good looking than Creta or Kia. Don’t compare the faltu Korean kars to the German makes.
@@ananonymouscat3042 sometimes works very well, sometimes it feels very week. Actually it works well when you drive at higher speeds like around 40 constantly. But as speed reduces it becomes ineffective.
@@speedbird109I have recently bought and just done 900kms odo. My mileage is very poor even on light foot. Does the mileage gets improved after 3000 or 5000kms?
@@rammkumarrviveganandan6668 i have done around 5.5k kms but not a major improvement in the city side. I am still getting around 7.5 kmpl. In no way will you be able to get the double digit mark in the city. Out on the highway is where the mileage gets good.
I'm just about to buy one "Comfortline" 1.0 Ltr. VW Taigun with Automatic 6 Speed Transmission mid level choice for here in Nayarit, Mexico. But since, I know this car was manufactured in India, I was very interested in your evaluation of this vehicle. I test drove it up hills, on the highway, on a "brecha", cobblestone street and was shocked that it was adequate powered in conjunction with the transmission (that has 3 modes), so to me it's like driving with a 12 speed transmission? My guess, being an Engineer, that part of the reason too, is that with a 3 cyclinder engine, the vehicle is 20-30% lighter than say a SUV with a 6 cyclinder engine? To me a was a no brainer to buy this SUV. I mean it gets equal or better gas mileage that all the midsized Hybrid SUV's, without paying the 30% more for Hybrid, and expect, that it should maintain it's value better after 7 - 8 years (because no drastic drop in value, because new owner will have to shortly pay $7-8,000.00 to replace the Lithium Batteries.) Thanks for your review for sure!
very well said. I definitely like it a lot but cant understand what went wrong with these guys. They could have made it little larger say, 1790mm width and 4300 minimum length. looks tiny at this avatar
1.5 fuel economy is shit in practical driving conditions. Very short trips: 6-7 km/l Driving for more than 7 km:9-10 km/l Long trips: 13-15 km/l, depending on driving style Consumes a lot of fuel during idle. It is a beast on highways, but the main intention is city usage.

Proud owner of 1.0 mt topline since one year/13000 kms
No complaints whatsoever just smile and satisfaction each time.
How's the AC in peak summer? I recently bought the same car but felt that ac takes some time to pick up on the cooling.. Any tips?
They say the clutch is very hard, in 1.0 MT.
Is it so, and very tiring in the city?
@@abhisohal13is ac an issue?
I am a proud owner of this car since its launch.❤❤❤

As of now, if compared to Japanese and Korean car manufacturers it is on the heavier side.

In 2024 Taigun needs a relaunch 3.0 with more features and go a notch higher in terms of quality
Are you the same person sir who has given a review of Jeep compass
Its a legend
Own a highline AT. Wireless charger is useless. Phone overheats and ridiculous slow charging. I got 17.9 driving from Hubli to Davanagere.
Why such loud background music....????
Clicked on the video but already own one 😂
Gives around 19-20kmpl easily
Hello, 1.5 is more fuel efficient compared to 1.0. Get your facts right.

Long trips: 13-15 km/l, depending on driving style

Price much more
A BIG NO , DON'T BUY UNLESS YOU HAVE YOUR OWN PETROL PUMP.
