The bass is tuned to drop D which gives it the characteristic Interpol sound. When played fast it can sound a bit flabby, the bassist is not playying badly. Interpol fans check my band out soundcloud.com/the_reward

Isaac Cortés González it's an awesome album , and banks has that confident/self-assured tone here and on Ancient Ways like on OLTA which I think works for them,

is it me or are they playing terribly? although the bass is very audible it is been played poorly. a bit dissapointed at them because i enjoy their songs.
They actually sound A LOT better than they used to! Listen to La Route Da Rock 2001. Paul sounds like a sheep in PDA.
I used to gig and out door the sound carries and so its hard to hear and stay tight but this is really poor and I came here as love the band, really bad live act
Sham Pain I agree. I think generally they are a weak live band. I'm just saying this is at least a slight improvement over their sound in the past, especially the '01-03 period. but yes, as a bassist, I think it is not the right tone for the band and also played poorly.
Really? Wow. This was one a Glastonbury highlight for me. The songs, the sound, the sunset... such a great set.
unplugged 7X Have you ever noticed how different things often sound when your at the event, I also like sport so I fully understand why when there it can be so much better but on here it sounds very lacking.
