You are a gift to me. I've been doing clean outs after estate sales for almost 3 years. We started doing courier services for people purchasing from ebay and estate sales. So I have a lot of stuff in storage that based on your videos are worth a lot. I need to unload some of it so I'm about to have storage unit sales for large items and I'm ebaying the smaller items. Your videos have been sooo useful to me and when I'm working sales, I'm putting items aside if they are not purchased. As I get more knowledgeable, I will continue to prosper because of your videos. I've been picking up unsold items based on your videos. Thank you so much.
Hi Kat, I rarely comment on any youtube channels, but had to let you know your channel is one of my absolute top favorites :) You have such a pleasant way of sharing and explaining information which makes it is such a joy to watch and learn from you. Your 'what to look out for' are my favs and of course your Tues video podcasts are not to be missed! Thank you Kat :)
You just gave me a reality check. I have lots of pottery, none of which on this level. I have it priced very inecpensively. But after seeing this video, i think St Vincent DePaul is going to get it. Thanks, Kat. You are the best. Happy thrifting. 😊
Yeah I am picky about what I pick up because I've learned over the years what is more common and will take forever to sell. It sucks because I really love it all!
Fantastic episode Kat! I love pottery but don’t know enough about it to invest in to resell and make a profit. This gave me such a better understanding of what to look for and why these pieces so prized. I absolutely fell in love with that tree piece ❤. I was thinking how difficult it would be to part
Picked up a couple of studio pottery pieces and they sat for a year or so - then both sold in the same month, different platforms! Profitable but not big money makers. Still would probably pick them up because I value them & handmade art that's not computer generated.
Got some pottery from a clean out throw away pile at the curb & had assumed the scrawled names meant they were pottery class projects. Going to check them out closer now😉 Thanks Kat!
Thank you so much for this video! I love pottery, but I am in the beginning stages of learning. Now I have some names to keep an eye out for! Have a blessed day!
I love these research videos! Thank you so much, Kat. Even though I won't remember it all when I am out and about, it helps to see the examples of top sellers to at least have a visual in my mind. (Side note: I also would not have been able to part with that birch trees bowl - holy moly that's gorgeous!!!)
That blue bird signed "Pawel"? I legit would've thought an 8th grader made that. I'm considering getting started as a casual reseller, and I saw a couple of amateur-looking pieces signed only with a first name. I left them on the shelf, but maybe I should go check them out again! Thanks for helping me refine my eye.
I love these research videos. I shop in San Antonio all the time and would have passed on that valuable bird. Great to learn new information to help when sourcing.
Hi, Kat! Always learn so much from you! I try to watch all videos you put out, but these are my favorites. Just a thought on studio pottery…I think the studio name is very important. For example, I live in Michigan and so recognized the piece that mentioned “Pewabic”. This is a name that is well known in Michigan. The pottery and studio was founded in 1903 and is one of the oldest continually operating potteries in the country. It is located in a National Historic Landmark studio on Detroit's east side. So, even though I wouldn’t recognize the artist’s mark, I would be excited to find any piece that had the “Pewabic” name. Thanks for including the piece in your video!🤗
Hi Kat thank you for all you do. I'm a retired nurse and need to make some money to survive the growing inflationary trend we are in. I have sold here and there but now got into this re-selling. I am new this time around and lucky if I make one very small sake a week. Your videos are encouraging to me. I started by selling my own book collection however I cannot compete it get ahead with books selling for 2.00 and free shipping. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.🌹
I would research and only list books selling for $15 or more.Unfortunately 90% of them are not worth anything anymore. You also could lot up similiar ones to get a higher selling price. I stopped doing books for this reason. There are valuable ones but you have to look through 100 books to find one good one in my experience
I always love your top sellers videos. Although I must admit I'm surprised there was no crystalline pottery listed. I love Phil Morgan. His tiny crystalline vases often sell for over $100 and they're only 3-4 inches high. I'm a huge fan of studio pottery and it doesn't hurt living within an hour of Seagrove NC! Blessings!
If the signature is not legible on McCarty pottery the squiggly lines in the rim is another way to identify it. That is McCarthy’s symbol for the Mississippi River mud they use to make the pottery. I live in MS and I’ve never come across a piece while thrifting.
When listing when how do you differentiate between using the terms Art Pottery vs studio pottery vs studio art pottery? They all seem to mean the same thing. Does one perform better in the search???
I have a small brass bowl that I found in a thrift store.. I looked it up.. there were 4.. beginning price was $149, and the high-end price was $ 759.. I dont know what to do with it.. I want to sell it.. but where or who.. 41/2" an Israel artist.. any suggestions

Warren McKenzie is a legend in the pottery world. Heesoo Lee always creates beautiful work. Her hand painted detail work is exquisite.
Great info thank you

So glad someone finally did a video on the values and styles of modern pottery 👍✅
Glad you liked it!

Hi Kat! I’ll watch soon! Can’t wait to learn!!! Thank you for all the help you do for everyone! 😊Pure dedication! ❤
You're so welcome:-)
I'm selling a lot of studio art pottery right now... even with unknown artists. Love it :-)
That is awesome! I love it too :)
Thanks Kat, always learn so much from you. Love that teapot.
You're welcome and yes I think that's the only one I noticed sheets of clay with prints rolled in
Woah what an exciting video, I love studio pottery too and like you I LOVED that tree bowl, wow!
Yay! Thank you! It was a great piece for sure

Yeah i love them so much i can't help it sometimes lol
@@TheNurseFlipper Have to say there was a good amount of interest, just took time to actually sell (and no discounts). Yeah, love them...

You're welcome that's cool
Love your work Kat.
Thank you so much!
I so look forward to this series. I have a ton of studio pieces in my shop. Now going through them again with a new eye.
Wonderful!
I also seem to sell studio art pieces very well. The more unusual the better. Thanks for a great, informative video, Kat!
You are so welcome!
I’m having trouble getting views on my art pottery listings, but I’m not too concerned because I can always keep and enjoy what doesn’t sell! 😂
Loved ❤🧡 this video! Congrats on the 100k subscribers yay!!🎉💫🌺

So interesting and some just beautiful. Thanks for this lesson. 😉👍❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've started looking for items you mention along with items I've sold on ebay for good profit, Thanks!!!
You're welcome:-)

Yes it was beautiful
Wow, it is my Lee McCarty plate. You made my day ❤
Ohhhhhh yay congrats amazing sale!!!
You should do more videos for pottery that is hard to identify! Loved this one! ❤
Will do!

I think with crystalline most I've seen listed don't use the term studio so none came up in search. I have a great one listed right now myself!

absolutely would have left the Warren Makenzie if I saw it in the wild lol looks more like its worth $4.95, that's crazy
Yeah names and marksareimportant
I have to continue watching these videos because the goodwills I been going to seem to block service 😂

I use both
The Winblad head vessel does have a WB on the bottom friend,
Oh thank you!
@@TheNurseFlipper yvw
On the Winblaad piece the mark to the left looks like a W with a sideways B. Maybe that is the signature?
Yes thank you

Me personally I look at sold prices not listed prices and price from that
Aren't the crossed out prices the initial asking price, not the sale price because seller accepted an offer?
Yes crossed out means they accepted a offer
That Harry Holl piece had Adam and Eve on it.
The rope bowl appears to be a hand built bowl as opposed to a thrown piece of pottery.
Yes i think so with coiling
I have an ugly painting 🖼️ & her other paintings are in a Canadian museum 😅
What if you just like it???
Then get it
Abstact
I'm in need of letting everything go. Medical reasons not able to keep up.
Why do you say studio and not just pottery?
People look for studio pottery which really is pottery by an unnamed artist
WHY?
Abstraction don’t like it😡
Not sure what you're referring to
