I work as a G4S guard in a job centre and I wouldn’t have a problem with being filmed. End of the day, people come in because they have to not because they want to and sometimes the DWP don’t do their jobs so we get it in the neck. Frustration from the public is unloaded on us and we can only deal with people the best we can given the lack of support we get from G4S as a company. They’re a sham of an organisation who care more about being yes men than the care of their staff. If I died on site their biggest concern would be who would cover my shift the next day. Trust me we’re not all idiots but there are a lot unfortunately that are.

The police presence is to prevent a breach of the peace. No breach going on it is then a matter of trespass, If you are asked to leave. Whether you have the right to be in a public place or not that is a dispute with the DWP and yourself. The police cannot force you to leave as police officers. They act as members of the public and assist as members of the public to the DWP in using no more force than necessary to remove you. You would then have a claim only against the DWP and for assault against the officers as individuals . That is why in these incidents if you assaulted a police officer you cannot be arrested for assault on police as they would not be acting in the execution of a constable (stated High Ct case) It would be for the G4s staff to use no more force than necessary to eject you. As their guidance is not to do hat the DWP are stuck. The police should say to the DWP you have two men here its for you to decide what to do not police officers then to become members of the public at that stage. If you have such incident again just site down and read job applications and record. They are at no time acting other than breach of the peace prevention. (I should know this Im retired plod)

Maybe it's time they looked deeper in to why 99% of the police force don't think they have to tell you they are filming you. That doesn't bother me but it makes me wonder what other things they don't bother doing that might bother me. It's a simple policy to follow.

The police presence is to prevent a breach of the peace. No breach going on it is then a matter of trespass, If you are asked to leave. Whether you have the right to be in a public place or not that is a dispute with the DWP and yourself. The police cannot force you to leave as police officers. They act as members of the public and assist as members of the public to the DWP in using no more force than necessary to remove you. You would then have a claim only against the DWP and for assault against the officers as individuals . That is why in these incidents if you assaulted a police officer you cannot be arrested for assault on police as they would not be acting in the execution of a constable (stated High Ct case) It would be for the G4s staff to use no more force than necessary to eject you. As their guidance is not to do hat the DWP are stuck. The police should say to the DWP you have two men here its for you to decide what to do not police officers then to become members of the public at that stage. If you have such incident again just site down and read job applications and record. They are at no time acting other than breach of the peace prevention. (I should know this Im retired plod)

25:20 Correct. Video is usually secondary and only important when the actions occurring need to be recorded. Most of the time the key part of a recording is the voice and audio as it is the words spoken by people that can be used against them in court.
