The Muslims were not “pushed out” Rick. I’m not saying this from an emotional or patriotic place - it’s simply not accurate. Gandhi, the Congress Party (the original undivided one that had representation from across today’s political spectrum), and Indians in general were vociferously opposed to Partition. The Muslim League led by Jinnah REFUSED to live as equals with the Hindus in a secular republic because prior to the British showing up, the (dying) Mughal Empire treated Hindus as slaves and required them to play the religious Jizya tax. Jinnah and his colleagues formed the Muslim League and petitioned the British to create Pakistan (the land of the “pure”) because they did not agree to their status as slave owners being changed. Pakistan did not happen because the British decided to “put the Muslims over there” it happened because the religious zealots who had no intention or concept of Western secularism successfully threatened the last Governor General into separating them from idol worshippers. It is not Islamophobia to recall history accurately and is necessary to understand the psyche of the subcontinent as it stands today. The British may have put both groups on the same side for a short while but the catharsis of the original and much longer conflict never came about, and that’s why it’s playing out in India Pakistan today.
Kay another inaacuracy is that Jinnah only did what he saw as right due to Muslims and Hindus clashing with eachother on several occasions, making a government with two giant political groups that hated eachother was wrong, or unworkable, yes I do believe that the Congress and Muslim League could've gotten to another better conclusion but the Muslims had been demanding a separate state for almost a century.
Agreed.. Muslims were never pushed..if so we can also say Hindus were pushed from Pakistan.. Actually my understanding is all this division is not because of religion, it's truly for power by two guys, who wanted to rule post independence.. lacking wisdom in this partition..due to which we are still fighting and this will continue..no stopping.. many innocent lives lost..we spend lot for defence instead of eradicating poverty..no option as Pakistan and China continue to stab us from behind..
Its not Jinnah alone lol. 87% Muslims voted for a separate state. But clearly India has more Muslims than Pak and Bangladesh, so the numbers dont add up.
@@pmaster1173 Muslims voted for separation but didn't go to Pakistan once it created because india declared itself a secular nation while Pakistan is a Islamic nation
@@yashvardhansinghrathore6769Wrong. India declared itself secular many years after the independence. It was not in the constitution at first. Most stayed because they had property here.
Sometimes that makes me wonder...had the partition not happened, we would have been a super power long ago..and so many other positive things..who knows China would have never thought of taking Indian land then or maybe Taliban would have rather tried occupying China in reverse...lol... laughing at my own self made jokes...😒
Very wrong words used by Rick that “muslims were pushed out”... No at all... some muslim leaders demanded other country though offered presidential posts. Due to their stubbornness partition happened. But India has offered this country for all religion. Thats why we have larger muslims population then the Pakistan. I demand apology for such words from Rick.
Are you serious? Muslims were attacked and killed left right and centre so if they decide to leave it is not a voluntary choice. It's a decision made for safety purposes due to what was happening and therefore they were pushed out. In fact there's still lots of attacks on muslims even to this day in India.
@@samiachowdhury3137 that is utter nonsense... There is no history of persecution of Muslims by Hindus anywhere on Indian history.... It had always been the other way round... The Hindus always resisted and reacted....
Samia Chowdhury : Sister, Partition was a “Bad” time for our Nation... There were lot of casualties on both side of religions... The fact is there were lot of hindu (including sindhis and panjabi) up to the borders of afghanistan in a region where pakistan is now. These hindus were pushed out brutally. Lot of hindus were erased gradually at pakistan but nobody talks about that. So lets be generous and rational. We have need to learn that ‘our generation and next’ should able to forgive each other religion for Past Partition Trauma, then only we can progress together. Gandhiji went on hunger strike till death to stop riots. It was already declared prior to Independence that India will be a secular country involving all the religions.
We have that too, in our schools.. We hold our right hand straight, like taking a one arm distance (instead of on your heart) and say our pledge.. I understand why Rick said Muslims were pushed to that side.but that is not true.it was the Muslim majority areas (which was Muslim majority earlier also) became the new country.bcz the organisation called All India Muslim league demanded a separate country for Muslims in 1945.they done a lot of protests and stuff since 1945.They wanted a new country. The direct action day which lead to great culcutta killings is very famous.Actually Britishers want India undivided(as physically atleast for mount batten, the British gov.general ).But they were afraid of civil war and forced to divide India.Actually Muslims in other parts of India (now part of India) didn't much go to pakistan.sikhs and hindus of Pakistan left there bcz afraid to be killed. These type of history u can't learn from movies.we say British divided India to make harmony in india.bcz British are no more here so u can blame them.if u say Muslim league divided India it will increase communal problems. And ultimately their policies created the partition even though Muslim league demanded it.
@@pmaster1173 They weren't push out. They were given choice to either live in India or in Pakistan. India has more muslims than Pakistan is because of the population of India. India is world's most populated country. If we consider muslim density in the countries then Pakistan and Bangladesh has way higher Muslim Population density than India.
@@amankumardwivedi3893 huh? Well obviously because Pakistan was formed as an Islamic nation. The point is if 87% voted for Pakistan, how are there more number of them in India than in Pak and Bangladesh. As for density, Pakistan has only 2% non muslims combined (Hindu, Sikh, Christian). Meanwhile India has over 25-30% Non Hindus.
@@pmaster1173 That's because birth rate of non hindus especially muslims must be higher than the birth rate of hindus. But muslims birth rate is higher that's why in today's time population has of muslim community is 20% of total population.
Additional Facts about the 1947 Indo-Pak war. After Independence, the princely state of Kashmir wanted to remain independent, but Pakistan tried to force the issue and sent their army and a bunch of irregular forces to capture Kashmir. They had some initial success in capturing areas of Kashmir. However, the irregular forces stopped for looting the initial towns they captured thereby slowing their advance to Srinagar, the capital. In the meanwhile, the Kashmiri Maharaja decided the join India for help and India airlifted the Indian Army to Srinagar. The troops landing in Srinagar airfield and were immediately heading into battle after landing. This decisive action ensured that India was able to maintain a foothold in the region. India naively took the issue to the UN believing that the UN would resolve the issue, but as we know the UN was ineffective at forcing a solution.
one correction guys... Muslims who believed that thier religious beliefs and freedom will be in danger, chose to move out of India and join Pakistan. The move was actually started by Mr. Jinnah. After the formation of Pakistan people have become self-declared safeguard of their religion in both the countries. And what Pakistan did to Bangladesh was yet another example that Punjabi Muslims discriminated Bengali muslims. So formation of a country based on religion was a big failure. Another thing you should know that the Pakistan part of India before independece was a well developed section of India. Am proud that India is still successful in holding the feeling of oneness irrespective of religion and community. My country never started any war and only believes in defending. Some hooligans may disrupt the peace here sometimes but 99% of the population still believes in unity and diversity. Also I don't dislike general Pakistanis. My biggest concern is that they do not speak against terrorism and others drawbacks of thier country. May be because of the fear of showing blasphemy.
The amazing fact is that all the tanks lost by pakistan in 1965 war was made in usa (the world police). If USA didn't supply weapons to Pakistan, 1965 war didn't happen ...😷
Additional Facts about the 1965 Indo-Pak war After the 1962 defeat, Pakistan thought India was weak and that they could easily defeat India. They hoped that an invasion of Kashmir would inspire a revolt in the Kashmiri people and a weakened Indian army would not have the will to fight. They were wrong on both counts. There was no uprising and the Indian army had a strong will to fight. Although, the war was marked by competence failures on both sides. The Indian army responded by crossing the international border and invading Pakistan through the Punjab region. This caught the Pakistani's by total surprise. The Indian army reached very close to the city of Lahore but did not try to capture it due to supply issues and because they thought it would be well defended. Later it was found out that there was no defense initially for the city. The Pakistani military was armed with American weapons at the time of this war as it was a cold war ally. One of these was the M48 Patton tank. At the Battle of Asal Uttar, which was the largest tank battle since WW2, over 135 Indian tanks fought and defeated 200+ Pakistani tanks. India won the battle by destroying 100+ Pakistani tanks. The nearby town was named Patton Nagar (Patton City) because of the large number of Patton tanks that were destroyed.

@Lord Royce who tf told that we won all the wars, nobody spreads lies in India about our losses unlike Pakistan. And for your another point, nobody's there to witness the past, past is passed down through knowledge and through writings.. and it is a fact that is accepted by all the countries in the world except Pakistan about the wars that India won against them. It is also a fact that India lost against China in 62 due to political issues and carelessness.. it is also a fact that India won against China in 1967 and won Sikkim... and for not forgetting and learning from our losses, it's something that the higher ups do buddy😂, and I think they are doing a pretty clean job.. why isn't China sharing the number of their martyrs in Galwan? Even though Russian intelligence reports 35 deaths and American intelligence reports 40 deaths? So I think these important questions must be asked instead of doubting the military of the largest democracy..
Another important thing is that the partition was not done like okay take the muslims out to a randomly selected part. They selected areas where Muslim populations were dominant and if Muslims from other parts of the nation wanted to move there they had to quickly because all this happened in a short span of time. Also the people from other communities in the area of current Pakistan had to move quickly to India as they were scared of being killed or raped and similarly for the Muslims living in bordering Indian areas where there were similar feelings of hatred towards them.
Actually the partition of India was between two political ideologies-the indian national Congress and All India Muslim league.the places they ruled became India and Pakistan respectively and it's leaders become prime ministers of both countries.
Poor history here. So you are saying that Sikhs in Punjab parts of Pakistan voted for Muslim league? You think Sikhs voted for Pakistan? Sikhs moved to India from Pakistan after partition. Reason why our schools must discuss more about our own history that about how great Alexander was.

The Indian army has been one of the top 4-5 armies, yet it has never implemented compulsory draft neither forced military service. That says something doesn't it?
India RETURNED back those 93000 Pakistani soldiers with all military respect and hospitality. India treated them like guests for over two months until the treaty was signed. Pakistani soldiers drank wine of their choice and watched movies of their choice here. They were so taken care of that one soldier famously said to our then army chief -" if our army chief were like u even we would have won" (when Indian army chief was continuously asking all soldiers if they had eaten or if there's anything they want ). Additional Facts about the Kargil War of 1999 This war proved once and for all that the real power in Pakistan is the Pakistani military and not the civilian government. Peace talks between the Indian government and the Pakistani civilian government were going really well but this does not sit well with the Pakistani military, who have a vested interest in keeping the conflict going. So they launched an operation where elements of the Pakistani military disguised as terrorists entered India and took over Indian military posts in the high altitude regions in Jammu and Kashmir. Every winter the Indian Army leaves these posts due to weather and reoccupies them in the summer. When the Indian Army returned in the summer they found the posts occupied by the Pakistani military. Pakistan assumed that India would just give up control and let Pakistan keep those territories, they were wrong. India immediately launched operations to take back the captured areas. One of the major decisions in this war was to not cross the Line of Control or the international border. This was done as Pakistan had not declared war officially and was pretending that this was done by irregulars, so if India escalated the conflict we would be accused of being the aggressor. This condition severely limited the Indian Armies and Indian Air Force's operational capabilities and resulted in more casualties, than if they had been allowed to cross the border. Politically of course this decision made complete sense.
Actually the British weren't exactly responsible for the partition, they played an indirect role. Some British officials earlier formed separate electorates for different communities in India (Muslims, Sikh, Anglo Indians etc.). This lead to the rise of a political party called Muslim League when a certain group of muslims felt that their needs as a community will not be catered to by Congress Party (a mostly Hindu dominated party) once India gains independence because they are a minority. So during the entire process of legally making India an independent nation, India's independence was delayed constantly because Muslim League kept asking for a separate nation but Britain kept denying. Finally due to civil war like situations in the country and other factors, Britain had to accept this demand and India and Pakistan were created.
Saying they had an indirect role would be a little unfair. They facilitated a lot of the incidents that eventually added up to the partition. A united India was never in the best interest of the British because of their fear of Russia setting up base in Afganistan.
@@ninadk30 yes I agree. They played their roles that's why I talked about the separate electorates. The point was to divide India internally so that the independence could be delayed. But the idea of a separate nation was the demand of Muslim League and the British officials sent during Cripps Mission and independence denied in the August offer was all because they weren't ready to create two nations.

Additional facts about the 1962 Indo-China war. By this time Nehru was becoming very old and ineffective. He was a Gandhian who had naive ideas that India's moral force would give it standing in the world. The Indian military had been neglected and underequipped for ages. Also, Nehru did not trust the military as a lot of formerly colonial countries were seeing military coups happen at the time, so instead of appointing the senior-most officer as the army chief, he appointed people who were his favorites. At this time relations with China were becoming frosty, but Nehru believed that India and China were destined to be friends as both nations had suffered at the hands of the West. China was especially annoyed by the fact that India had given asylum to the Dalai Lama the Tibetan leader. The Indian Army was given the impossible task of defending a large mountainous border with insufficient troops, outdated equipment, and not enough supplies. The Chinese Army had built up a massive force and hugely outnumbered the Indian troops. On top of that, they achieved total surprise and defeated the Indian Army. The Indian Air Force was not used as Nehru had fears that the Chinese would retaliate by bombing Indian cities.

And that time, J&K was also decided to become independent monarchial Kingdom... And that time, 2 agreements were signed for merge and access between King of J&K and P.M of India... And then J&K merge with India... And Pak feels jealous... Because India always do contribute, support and help to its neighbours and friendly countries as from past to till now...and J&K is compared as Paradise on Earth for its natural beauty... @Nancy Arora 💯
Not just last but all of it
Yes true
Historically correct. It's a fact they proposed Two Nation theory because they considered us infidels and impure.
Absolutely correct, true historic facts....
Correction Rick at 9:06. Muslims were NOT pushed. Jinnah separated the Country in the name of religion.

@@samiachowdhury3137 so did hindus.

This decisive action ensured that India was able to maintain a foothold in the region.

one correction guys... Additional Facts about the 1965 Indo-Pak war
After the 1962 defeat, Pakistan thought India was weak and that they could easily defeat India.
There are records that state that Lahore was evacuated as the Indian army was just a few kilometers away until they were called back.

Additional Facts about the Kargil War of 1999
This war proved once and for all that the real power in Pakistan is the Pakistani military and not the civilian government.
Now it's time for you to watch the movie 'Border'.
And kurukshetra malayalam movie which depicts kargil war

At 9:05 Korbin talking about part of land that was on other side of a different country, don't know he remembered Alaska during this statement.
Stupid for a reason
Because of our two loving neighbours.
Today India is a very strong country.
There is movie made on kargil war named "loss of kargil".
I believe the movie Kargil was based on the war Kargil
@@saifmehdi178 ya.
We also recite our pledge everyday at school. It is as follows
India is my country. All Indians are my brothers and sisters. I love my country and I'm proud of its rich and varied heritage. I shall always strive to be worthy of it. I shall give my parents; teachers and all elders respect and treat everyone with courtesy. To my country; and my people I pledge my devotion. In their well being and prosperity alone; lies my happiness.. jay hind!
I Proud to be indian Army I Love ❤️ indian Army ❤️❤️❤️
In 1971 war india not only defeated pakistan but also defeated other nation like USA,Uk,china and srilanka they were helping pakistan and with the help of
Russia.india and russia defeated defeated 5 countries once😎😎😎😎😎😎
Read about Ghazwa e hind..... know their ideology and our right to protect our citizens.... Jai Hind!
According to my studies... In the time of partition, India want to be secular, but some Muslim people want their own religion nation, so an agreement for partition was signed...
And that time, J&K was also decided to become independent monarchial Kingdom... But suddenly Pak with some tribal rebellions or looteras attacked J&K, then, King of J&K requested P.M of India for help...
Jai Hind 🙏🏻🇮🇳❤️
I wish somebody would subtitle Khan Sir's video on the 71 War for OSR.
Yes that one is very good 😅
We also used to say a pledge to India in school actually, exact same way! It was printed in textbooks for state board schools. And it went like this:
India is my country. All Indians are my brothers and sisters. I love my country and I'm proud of its rich and varied heritage. I shall always strive to be worthy of it. I shall give respect to my parents, teachers and elders and treat everyone with courtesy.
White ppl are so naive. Division of India was huge Geo political move.
You critizes when you have knowledge and other wise it's just a dumb question.
Not Boys you mean men. India even at that time had a well trained professional army just like the USA and UK!!
It wasn't British decision for partition,
Mohammad Ali Jinnah and his party muslim league always wanted a seperate nation in which Jinnah would be supreme head
Hey just joined binge watching for sure.....you guys are awesome, I was hooked by the Korbinization video and just love you guys!!?
Well USA earned a lot of money during WWII. After great depression they only worked in the way to create such a situation. And the great example of Hiroshima and Nagasaki shows us what USA can do to nations who try to fight back.
We have pledge too.... but it does not say i pledge my allegiance or anything like that.....
Our pledge is as follows:
"India is my country and all Indians are my brothers and sisters.
I love my country,
and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage.
I shall always strive
to be worthy of it.
I shall give respect to my parents, teachers and all elders.
and treat everyone with courtesy.
To my country and my people,
I pledge my devotion.
In their well being and prosperity alone,
lives my happiness jai hind!"
Guys react to "Iyobinte Pusthakam" Malayalam movie trailer starring Fahad Fasil. Its really goood. Its a period drama.
We Indians have to recite a pledge of somewhat 30 lines everyday in school more about uniting the nation and patriotism.
9:01 speaking of alaska... 😁
Just like in India. Everyday we were supposed to say the National Pledge of India during the morning assembly before our classes begun.
Beware of your statements RICK!check in facts and don't loose spit!!
they are far left liberals.. what do you expect???.. when you say ISLAM, they say PEACE...
The minority religions of India Have no discrimination at all. They can be the president of India. There is no difference among any of the religion. But in Pakistan, Minorities are becoming minute.
They owe our country an apology. These guys are masters at subliminal messaging. I can’t believe followers of this channel can’t see through their agenda. I’ve noticed this in some of their other videos, and these guys are getting into politics of a country they have zero clue about. They think watching a few videos is enough to know about the internal politics of our country. These guys should be unsubscribed at the earliest.
Ya but people are stupid and as a result no apologies will be asked
India won all of the war instead 1962 💪💪💪
Russia supported india in these wars they are always our friend😊
We don't know to start a war ,but we are expert in ending.
#PKMKB #CKMKB
In a civilized society war is very unfortunate truth between countries
You guys should watch Raazi and Gazi for the better understanding of 1971 war of Pakistan and India
During the Cold War, Pakistan was allied with US & India was allied with USSR.
@ricksegall @korbinmiles empathy is rare. Valid point put up by you two. But it is also a valid point that India did not start these wars.....the immense loss of of life (civilian) suffered in the 47-48 j & k war was Insurmountable.....and to take back the control of the Kashmir Airport many a brave souls of our Army put down their lives.....and we did the same when our bhudist brothers were torn away from their homes......free Tibet and free Kashmir Pandit population in their homes
KGB gave intel to India that the American navy is coming to aid Pakistan in Indo-Pak war, India went all out and resulted in largest surrender after WW and creation of Bangladesh;
Russia always wanted war with Pak, and America always supported Pak for their own reasons (cold war and control of Afghanistan)
Yes sir my nation never started a war but It doesn't means that other can mess with us
Remember Divide & Rule it's the British tactics but US now using it.
remember that the Kargil war was in 1999, by then both the countries had nuclear weapons.
There was another war fought in 1961 with Portugal, where India threw Portuguese colonial rule over Goa, Daman and Diu. Much of the west were mighty "displeased" with the action, because they still had colonies in Africa and Asia at that point of time. The US president at the time, Kennedy even compared India's action as a "preacher caught coming out of a brothel" because India was also championing non violence around the world. But the USSR, Arab Kingdoms, African Nations and Srilanka gave staunch support and did not allow their territories to be used to provide reinforcement to the Portuguese in India.
Excuse me...... Pushed out.... They asked for it
Yes
They were not pushed outfrom India that were their choices........and for information there are 200 million INDIAN MUSLIMS who lives in India proudly...
1971 was so decisive that marks the highest number of soldiers to ever surrender to any army ever 🙏🏼
All wars were imposed on India but still pak n china keeps shouting in the world that India creates imbalance across its borders...world must shuffle the pages of history books once again.. i loved your videos on visit to India... you are warmly welcomed to my cultural country
