I always loved how the bass had the main melody in a couple of the songs. Years later, I can't choose which one I like more: the first one, or the fifth (starts at 21:25).
man i love the blown-out, lo-fi sound and loose, scrappy performances on this recording. when i figured out how to burn this to a cd-r circa 2001, i used to listen to this a lot. it has held up well -- the first track almost sounds like it could be a track from Iggy and the Stooges "raw power" !!
track 4, the guitar and bass trading surprisingly melodic verses, playing with a register and articulation that suggests the voice.. so similar to singing, it's actually a pretty catchy ear-worm. so warm and fuzzy sounding... that HAS to have been recorded on tape.
the harmonized guitar leads (3rds?) in the chorus of Track #2 have such an ominous and menacing sound. someone mentioned they liked how loud the bass is mixed. yeah they were spot on the way they recorded this -- the mix is positively rumbling, it has a bit of that acid rock harmonically overdriven texture where everything seems to be subtly vibrating around in itself, (i guess that why they call it fuzz? haha)
If I remember correctly, the composer for SimCopter also did Streets of SimCity, SimCity 3000, and the original Sims, so he may have also done Sims 3. That or they took inspiration from his work maybe?
I'm doing Cayo heist prep missions flying the sparrow and listening to this, reminds me of flying the schweitzer back in the day, talk about meta.
Right on!
A remaster of this game could be awesome but EA own Maxis so maybe all the choppers could be blocked with a microtransaction wall
Haloloco yeah and then they could remove features from it to keep it from competing with another game!
A spiritual successor has a much better chance, especially with today's powerful game engines like Unity and Unreal.
yeah and you can only play it while connected to the internet
You need to buy fuel with real money! That's innovation!

that fifth one is like feels like a "soaring" tune, though more like driving fast off a ramp into the sky than flying a helicopter :)
The fourth one (15:49) has always been my favorite of the rock tracks and tied with techno2 for my favorite track in the game.
Am I the only one here who feels like the first track and the main theme of The Sims 3 sounds oddly similar?
first for me!

Simcopter was lit!
I can see what these sounds look like! [The inverse of "I can hear this picture"]

yo is the second track start like a knockoff of the MMPR (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) theme??
Interesting how Streets of SC and SimCopter had very similar radios.
Yes, odd isn't it?
The first song remins me so much of The Sims 3, The Sims 3 uses a remix of/sampled it as it's main theme or it is purelly coincidental?

What you did it say Sim 3 not programmed? didn't that turn out to be kind of true
That DJ said "Sim-3. Not pre-programmed. Just random."
