The best Laser Engraving/Cutting software - Lightburn Software - lightburnsoftw...
Hi Darren, I have been watching your videos the past day or so. They are informative and very helpful. You are a natural teacher, thank you for clarifying many of the features of light burn and laser engraving. Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you for reaching out and offering your support Dave - I'm glad you're finding my content helpful :)
Great lesson Darren. I’m trying to learn all I can, so I can stop buying files and make my own work. Love the Aussie accent. Australia is on my bucket list to visit
Hey Steve - appreciate the comment - the more we learn the more we create - yep Australia has some awesome places to visit - where are you based?
Thank you. I didnt know about selecting a single part of a trace or the move by half thing. Good stuff.
You’re welcome Todd - Lightburn is full of little surprises 😁
HI Darren! when I do a trace how can I insure the traced image is the area that the laser is not going to print? meaning the square for the chess board is going to fill but leave the design out of the fill...so the design is not printed but shown through the actual material cheers!
When you do the trace of the image - make sure it is also a fill layer - then when you overlay on the fill squares you will get the inverse effect on the traced image :)
Hi Darren I am running Lightburn 1.4.01 for whatever reason my sqaures are not filled dark like yours? What am I doing wrong?
Hi there Mike - could be a couple of reasons - has the layer been set to "Fill" or is it "Line" - if it is Fill then the next thing you need to check is under Lightburn settings (the two little gear cogs) has the slider for "Filled Rendering" been switched on?
you are the best! thank you oh soo much- that seemed to do the trick! I am very new at this and your videos have helped a ton- I am learning soo much! my only other question is- I am running a Longer Ray5 10w. basically the speed and power is what makes it engrave rather than cut? or is there another option i need to be using? MANY THANKS!!!@@mrcraftsmith
You're welcome Mike - when it comes to diode lasers yes - speed and power are the two variables that determine the finished result - the best bet is to do a material test on each new material you use, so that you can identify the optimum settings for engraving and the same for cutting.
