GOD BLESS STEVE . HE IS IMO THE GREATEST GUITARIST I HAVE EVER SEEN. FOR MORE THEN JUST HIS SKILLS. HE THOROUGHLY ENJOYS PERFORMING, HE LOVES TALKING ABOUT HIS RIG TO ANYONE WHO ASKS,AND ALTHOUGH HE COULD BE SOOOOOOOO FULL OF HIMSELF LIKE STEVE VAI , HE IS THEE MOST HUMBLE,DOWN TO EARTH ELITE GUITARIST I HAVE EVER SAW. I KNOW THERE ARE TRULY PHENOMENAL GUITARIST, ACTUALLY,HERE ON UTUBE ARE A BUNCH OF UNKNOWNS WHO ARE INCREDIBLE ! I HAVE MY LOYALTY TO STEVE,THATS ALL I CAN SAY. OH.....ONE MORE BONUS. HE PLAYED FOR MY ALL TIME FAVORITE PROGRESSIVE ROCK BAND, KANSAS . I BECAME FAMILIAR WITH STEVE MORSE WHEN HE PLAYED 2 SONGS OFF "SCHEMER DREAMER " ALBUM, OBVIOUSLY THE LEAD SINGER, AND KEYBOARDIST STEVE WALSH. THE LEADS ON ONE OF THE SONGS BLEW ME AWAY,AND I HAD TO KNOW WHO THIS GUITARIST WAS. I DID,THEN BOUGHT EVERY ALBUM FROM THE DIXIE DREGGS, THE DREGGS. THEN LATER ON,THE STEVE MORSE BAND. FOR ANYONE READING MY COMMENTS WHO KNOWS STEVE MORSE, DO YOU FEEL THE SAME WAY THAT STEVE IS NOT RECOGNIZED AND DOES NOT GET THE CREDIT AS ONE OF THE GREATIST GUITARISTS. I KNOW GUITARISTS KNOW HIM PROBABLY BUT IN GENERAL. STEVE VAI IS WELL KNOWN FOR GOOD REASON BUT MORSE SHOULD BE A HOUSEHOLD NAME AMONGST PEOPLE WHO LOVE LISTENING TO GREAT MUSIC. MAYBE IF HE WOULD OF STARTED WITH A BAND THAT PLAYED HARD ROCK,WITH LYRICS ? ANYONE WANTS TO ADD TO MY COMMENTS ?
Tremendous show from a supremely gifted group of artists. Last time I saw them live was April 13, 1978 at the Georgia Theater in Athens Ga. ( very similar to the Capitol Theater ) Absolutely the best type of venue to hear them in. Not all bands can make magic when playing live but these guys are among the few who really can ! The interaction and energy between the artists has to be seen as well as heard. Hopefully this may generate some new music by the Dregs and further annual tours. They still have plenty left in the tank and I believe the fan base will be there for them as long as they want to keep playing.
I'm laughing. I was the house sound tech at most of the shows there at the Georgia Theatre. Since most of Steves time is associated with Deep Purple these days, new Dregs material is unlikely.
I do not see T Lavitz or Alan Sloan is this video. That is no big deal but when I mixed the Dregs, it was Andy West, T Lavitz. Alan Sloan, and Rod Morgensrein, and Steve Morse, god of guitars.

Sadly, T Lavitz passed away in 2010.

Wow.. not much else to say
Is that Rod Morgenstein on the drums? Yay! Who is playing keyboards?
Steve Davidowsky
It wasn't T Lavitz
