Edit to add Months later. We pulled our 9500lb RV from Wa to CO over many mountains. In the past my transmission Guage would sometimes get to the line just before hot. The whole trip my temp never got above half. - Розваги
There is bad misinformation on the internet and forums about defective radiators causing the transmission fluid and coolant to mix on Nissan Titans. Unfortunately this misinformation continues to be spread by hearsay. 2005-2010 Titans
WERE NOT a model that had this issue.
“We have received hundreds of complaints from consumers in regards to transmission failures from defective radiators in 2005-2010 Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan Frontier and Nissan Xterra vehicles “ -NC consumer.org
“The widespread issue has prompted the North Carolina Consumers Council (NCCC), a consumer protection group, to plead that everyone avoid the 2005-2010 Frontier, Pathfinder, and Xterra at all costs.”- Nissan problems.com.
This guy is on point. If your armada/titan has low miles or a pretty new radiator
Do it this way. If it’s still running hot, add the PML deep pan to give you more oil capacity. It will stay much cooler.
Good information!
Very interesting video
Very interesting
thanks, bout to tow my rv to montana for my cancer treatment
Our thoughts and prayers are with you my friend. Hope everything turns out well.
I completely bypass the factory transmission coolers used the Hayden 679 cooler i made 2 brackets and mounted the trans cooler next to the condenser fan
This video is horrendous. The object is to bypass the trans fluid passage built into the radiator. Titan radiators are known to crack and coolant mixes with trans fluid and creates the Strawberry milkshake of Death and then you grenade the transmission.
Thanks for the info! How's the trans. cooler doing? Any leaks on the cooler itself? I'm installing one on my 98 4 runner.
Doing awesome! Went up to the mountains of Estes Park, Co. did some workamping and now down to Pueblo. Trans cooler has been a game changer pulling 10k lb RV
@@RV_Chef_Life Estes Park cool, we we're in Grand Lake in January.
I’ve been looking for the transmission cooler line to do a transmission fluid flush, would You suggest to disconnect the line right there next to the transmission to get rid of the old fluid? Thanks
Honestly I can’t answer that as I’ve never done a flush, I simply change my fluid. I always use pure synthetic fluid as well.
Thank you @@RV_Chef_Life. Sorry for the delay response but nobody really responds most of the time. Appreciate the video
Trying to do a complete transmission fluid flush. Right there where you show the line connecting to the transmission, would you say it’s ok yo drain out the old transmission fluid? Thanks
Absolutely, never a bad Idea for fresh fluid.
Do you have to add more transmission oil after this ?
I had to add about a 10th of a quart if that.
Is there a way to just bypass the cooler in the radiator mine is leaking and I don’t want to replace the whole radiator for it
Absolutely just disconnect the Two transmission lines on your radiator and run some more line to a replacement cooler. Your transmission cooler is sandwiched between your AC condenser on the front and the radiator. My lines are on the passenger side but just follow your lines from your transmission
Ok so I've been looking into alot of the videos for a trans cooler and so far my truck is the only one I've seen with a fan on the front of the condenser
Are you sure it’s on the front of the condenser? Your condenser is the skinner of the Two.
Not good.. This truck is known for the trans cooler of death from inside the rad.. So i don't think that's a good idea on this motel.
I’m not going to disagree but in my defense my truck has 196k miles on it and I have been pulling a 9k lb rv around the country the past 6 years. Knock on wood my radiator has been just fine.
Does this bypass. The original
It does not. If you have the tow package with the original trans cooler this will add an additional cooler. The flaw with the original cooler is it is sandwiched in between the condenser and radiator which makes it much less efficient removing trans fluid heat. I was worried about adding an additional cooler, but this was a game changer. I push our Titan to edge in tow capacity and like I said my temp never got above 1/2 the gauge.
@@RV_Chef_Life that is not the original flaw the flaw is bypassing the radiator because they are known to crack and inject coolant into the transmission lines creating the Strawberry milkshake of death.
Bad video!
How do you mean? This was a game changer pulling my RV 1200 miles.
@@RV_Chef_Life I believe he means the video quality (camera, moving constantly, sound, ect.), not the information you impart in the video itself. Unless you're trying to become a "professional" UA-camr I wouldn't worry about it.
