I did one of these at a comic con a few years back. It was pretty fun over all, though most of the 'dates' were just the girls working the con for the speed date company. I had pretty bad social anxiety so doing the thing was more for over coming that than walking away with love. It helped a lot and I ended up getting a few numbers (and even a date) out of the whole thing. Long term, though, I got to be more comfortable in my own skin and handle rejection a lot better as well. I appreciate you not crapping in these dudes or this concept over all.

@@TypicalCynic_ it took a while for me to get past this. I started small and with inconsequential interactions. I also worked really hard in not trying to live inside other people's heads. I will never know how people actually see me, only best guesses and made up narratives- so why not make a narrative where I think people view me as pleasant? It also was important I changed how I talked to myself internally. Self talk is important and I was using really awful language to describe myself. Things I would never say to a friend or even acquaintance. Once I could start to change that the other pieces started falling into place.
The men-to-women ratio must be fucked up, like all those dating apps.

I have great friends and an amazing family and overall good life. Even though I have had past trauma. Overall it is all going alright. But unlike this guy, I hate myself. @@Dmararar6 Of course. Thank you for asking if I was okay with it that is very kind of you. Me and my brother had an ex step father and ex step brother. I won’t name them but they seemed like nice people at first but over time my ex step father became an alcoholic making us feel worthless and even beating us at some points along with his son doing the same. Luckily me and my brother and mother got out of there and sorted out the situation and now are safe but I suffer from light PTSD and Insomnia along with Sleep Paralysis. I try not to let it affect me as a whole but it is hard some days.
