It's VERY close. I own a 2001 J-45 Standard and one of these. Gibson finally allowed Epiphone to create an acoustic worthy of the J-45 name. Especially with this Slash edition as you're getting the same Grover tuners, TUSQ nut and saddle and LR Baggs pickup system Gibson puts in the $2800 USA J-45 Standard. I actually play the Epiphone J-45 more these days, it's a bit heavier (about 1lb heavier to be exact), but as a songwriters tool, man the songs just pop out of this thing.
Epiphone’s Inspired by Gibson guitars are phenomenal. I’ve just picked up a non-Slash J45 and it’s absolutely incredible for the price. It’s a great guitar if you want a darker sound as well - sounds absolutely amazing in Eb!
Great demo, beautiful playing.I have an ibg hummingbird which I love, very tempted by this guitar, with the lr baggs and case, but would have to replace the truss rod cover!
Is this straight out of the box or was there setup work done to this one? This is the best demo I've heard of this guitar. How's the neck since it's a "thicker" neck than a normal Epiphone J-45? That's my biggest concern.
Amazing playing, especially the part starting 1:20. First thing I did when I got this exact model+color was remove the undersaddle pickup and install a dual sensor passive contact pickup under the bridge plate. Not as good as a mic but heaps more natural sounding than any undersaddle piezo..
first ... the pickup sounds way better than the Fishmann one installed at the regular Epiphone J-45 ... second ... this video makes me realise that the pickup ok my solid top far east Takamine is really something ... if you are looking to play with some effects better look for the right pickup rather than the guitar... some good guitars are equiped with some really low performance pu sysyems.
Your playing is great mate! But the guitar doesn‘t sound like the j 45. it is not bad but if you want a j45 you should try a few gibsons - including their slash signature model! It is a huge difference in tone (and in look and feel). Thanks for your great demonstration.

This epiphone is the real deal! It sounds amazing. You get a lot of guitar for this price point. If your thinking of one, I wouldn't hesitate.
Damn! This sounds like a full-on $2000 Gibson. Nice bloom and depth in the tone. VERY impressed.

So nice that you write (no talking). It says something about what the viewers want to have.

Nice pickup. And for sure it has a good construction. It sounds very decent.
Great demo. Thanks!
What gauge strings do you use? Since the factory 12 gauge is a little thick for the vibrato arrangements, you do.

I don't think he's using the pickup he's using mic.
I like the new epiphone headstock , this. Is a good guitar
Do you prefer this over the Epiphone IBG J-45?
Very warm sounding guitar.

Awesome guitar
I have the epiphone AJ-45 ME all solid mahog. I would love to know how it compares with this model.
Best Demo so far
Sounds great.
This one or the regular ISG J45?
Hey guys, which effects did you use to get those million dollar sound from this guitar?
What are the strings?
Wer ist der tolle Gitarrist?
Anyone can tell me please if this or the inspired by gibson, which one sounds better?
Just compare two videos from this channel. The same microphone, the same guitarist and two beautiful guitars. ua-cam.com/video/HNi2UUf2Q-M/v-deo.html
