"Don't do it because you hate yourself". So much yes. I was looking at an ingrown hair on my leg the other day and it dawned on me that it felt like a failure, I was viewing every tiny imperfection as a failure. Body image epiphany, it was then I realised I needed an attitude adjustment. I'm working on it
And I really, really enjoy watching your videos. Overly positive people on here can sometimes seem fake, but you come off as a genuinely lovely person.
you are so inspiring! you've inspired me to start living a healthier life style but not with the goal of being skinny and looking good, but with the goal of feeling good inside, thank you
Kassie! I luv how genuine you always are, l've been following you for almost 3 yrs now, and even tho, I don't comment I don't miss any of your vids I'm so happy for you and how much you and your channel have grown for the las 2 yrs, and I just wanna say, you rock girl!❤️ PS, I've been trying to stay away from chemicals for my hair as well, I got the balayage done, and I've been using white vinegar once a week to keep it from looking dull, and it has work wonders on my hair and the color is looking better than ever, give a try, you are gonna love it!❤️❤️❤️
I haven't uploaded in *forever* and you're one of the creators that makes me so excited to come back to this space so soon. For real. Thank you for being so real and having such a beautiful soul!
I love everything you said in this video. Totally agree. When I eat right, sleep well, and have low stress, my beauty routine is simple. And eat until we are nourished and full!! Such an important statement as well!
It was so great meeting you at Buffer last weekend Kassie! I need to try out the living libations brand it looks awesome. I also use to use that CoQ10 lotion and Lush bar a lot and you just reminded me about how great they worked :) Also glad to hear your skin and routine is back to normal, I feel the same way when I travel.
I realized something from this video. We women sometimes talk too much about our 'flaws' with our partners. I don't think its good, We shouldn't bash our selves and pick on ourselves in front of them. Its sort of like if you had a favorite food and someone sat there pointing out whats wrong with it etc, you would see it different. Idk, I just wonder how the guy would respect us if we act so disrespectful to ourselves. I'm super guilty of this. I know I wouldn't like it if my partner sat there and pointed out his flaws. I just notice you do this around terry too, seeing it made me realize I should stop.
Remember how shite we both felt on the last day in Canada!? Haha oh MAN travel aint nice to the face. I still thought your skin looked incredible even after all that festival fun & to the commenting peeps - I can back her up, she actually uses this stuff and it actually works she's bloody glowing like, all the time!
you're a ray of educational realistic sunshine in my subscription box and I could listen to you forever! I'm rly glad you came back to making videos. :'))
I love these nice long videos, it feels like an actual conversation is going on and like you're telling an individual your experience. Just feels more intimate. Maybe I'm just really weird.
WOW a more than 3 minute video! YAY!! I love how you are so honest. Especially about the exercise. Most youtubers like to make it their lives look so "perfect" like they always eat healthy and workout, when in reality they don't. I hope and pray that you have peace on your journey to mental health. Lord knows its necessary lol!!
Seeing you've uploaded a new video is always a small celebration inside my head! As usual, I love the message you're sending with your videos. You manage to turn them into such a pleasant, fun and educating experience.
hey kiassima idk how to spell it i forgot but i can say it so them teeth tho GIMME DEM mmmmmmhaaaa yea gimme DEM TEETH THEY SO CLEEAAN my half clean and i cant get yellow out Fuuu help meh.
Yay! I saw your Facebook post about a beauty video and I was super pumped! And the video, of course, did not disappoint. This may sound weird, but I find your videos very nourishing. You're the green smoothie of the media that I consume, and I love it. I always feel so great after watching your videos. I loved that you talked about products and how you use them, but also about healthy mindset, attitudes, and lifestyles. I admire that so much! Thanks again, Kassie, for another wonderful video!
You literally always make me laugh Kassie!! Love that you involve walking in your routine because a lot of people don't consider that exercise!! I love going to a park or nature preserve and its nice to see older people there because it makes me feel I am doing something right!! Being aware and not waiting till im older to appreciate things ! :)
I've only got my nails done professionally maybe three times in my life. Prom, wedding, fun me time. I just don't like people touching me and sitting still. Plus, I like seeing how healthy my nails are and how naturally shiny I can get them from how I take care of my body. Vitamins, food, ect. It's nice to see how your routine changes to adjust to your busy lifestyle. :)
I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your beauty routine with us :3 A year ago I watched one of your skincare videos and bought an oil cleanser with natural ingredients and no salicylic acid/benzoyl peroxide. I've had acne for 7 years and it was the first time EVER that my skin didn't feel irritated and inflamed. Your videos have inspired me to look after my mental and physical health and keep everything in balance. And you and Terry make me laugh so much! Thank you Kassie
Bahah, I died (of laughter) when you brought out the Run The Jewels aspirin mask prop. I'm a new(ish) subscriber but I love how authentic your videos are and it seems like you guys have a good time making them which always makes for a fun watch!
The last couple of days I've been watching through all of your videos and I stopped doing everything when I saw the notification for this upload. I always look forward to your videos Kassie. I hope you continue to thrive and live well 💖☁🍎
You've done all the research I've dreamt of doing. Thank you for sharing your routine! I'd love to see a makeup routine (to follow up the foundation one)!! Please share your blushes, bronzers, and lipsticks favorites!!
I still have a lot to learn about skin care and, in general, health care. Thank you for your videos, Kassie, you're one of the most genuine beauty and lifestyle youtubers I've seen. :))
so happy when ever I see one of you videos, really your videos help me so much please don't stop, hope your having a good day to ! all my love Tilda xx
I haven't watched your videos for a while (I haven't watched youtube much in general lately) now I came back and have to say I missed a lot...your videos a truly amazing and inspiring and I love that you are always very honest with your audience...so thank you ;)
I would love to see a grocery list/haul! My wife and I have been eating clean for a while and are maintaining a holistic lifestyle- but I seem to always be missing things when I go to the grocery store for the week. I know our staples but I would love to know yours! Also how you meal plan/budget for hot groceries. Eating whole and healthy is obviously more expensive than not- so creating those grocery store rituals is important. I'd love your feedback!
yaay glad you're more into natural things :) I feel like I don't see a lot of youtubers who are into that so its refreshing to see someone promote more natural products and lifestyle, plus you are so funny and awesome!
I finally got Apsara thanks to your recommendation and it is amazing! I've been using it for a month and my skin has never been better. Also 2.5% benzoyl peroxide has been proven to work just as well as higher concentrations without being extremely stripping. Highly recommend it as a spot treatment if you need a quick acne fix. Love you!!
You are so right Kassie! I also overanalyze my face too close to the mirror all the time for any skin impurities, it is a very bad habbit, but so hard to stop!
+Celine Brandon Aww, best of luck! I hope you find an away-from-home routine that works really well for you! My brother is in law school, and when I visited, the dudes I saw would be glued to their books, and have an exercise like lifting or skipping on standby so they could have regular study breaks where they exercise as hard as they can haha. Seemed super productive!
Thank you so much Kassie! I wish I could comment on all your videos. I love the way you make your videos and I feel like I can relate to you completely. I love natural products and all that jazz. Your mind is beautiful. You inspire me to be more simplistic and more lively.
i was confused when you said you weren't worried about exercise because you're focusing on mental health. as far as i know exercise is one of the best things you can do to improve your mood and mental clarity
I've watched this video more than once - as well as many others with regards to beauty - I love the teeth care one too - keep it up girl - it's nice to hear it explained by an intelligent woman such as you
Hey Cassie, I'm a nail tech and at my shop we use LED curing lights which is way better then UV lights. I find that most places where I am from strayed from the UV because it does take a little longer to cure. Back when I used UV, I actually had a lady put sunscreen on her hands. The process of taking it off does mean you need to soak your nails with acetone, in all honestly, if the nail tech is properly removing it, it shouldn't damage the nail bed.
Thank you for this beautiful video ! This is the first one I watch on your channel and I love the fact that at least you do try to be aware with how you treat your body and what products you use... But one thing I do have to say is : girl, I feel the "guilty pleasure" thing with them gelnails... haven't had them in a very very long time, but if I do.. I feel the exact same way. That is why I try to keep myself away from them! love&light ~
im so happy you know what actually works for you!!! ive had acne for 7 years and no matter what i do, i dont see any improvement. and as for the nails, i dont know much about it all but for the chipping maybe look into zoya nail polishes ive heard that theyre friendly in some way but also great quality :))
You met Shakira!!!!! Holy shit. I remember when there was less then 900 subscribers now you are collabing with Shakira. I'm so flipping excited for how far you are going!
Hey kassie. So there actually is a nail polish brand that is gel but made without all the harsh chemicals. It's called sparitual. It's an amazing brand! As far as the uv light I'm sure it's not the best for you but what these days isn't harmful. I love your videos. They are very inspiring and you're very well spoken. Keep them up!!!
I`m getting my nails done every month and I always leave them all natural without any nailpolish or coloured gel so that I can paint them myself. What I love about gel nails is that you just never have to worry if your nails look good or not, but I hate when they start growing out...
KASSIE!!!! I know that gelish nails are very convenient as they do not chip off as easily as normal nail polishes but it'll really damage your nails and make them thinner in the long run.. Because its really thick, my mom always told me that my nails couldn't breathe and they'll get really weak.. haha its fine to do it! just not always. Love u btw, your personality's my inspiration !! :) -Jan from Singapore
Thank you for the wonderful reminders at the start of this video (and during), because I'm guilty of doing the staring thing at night before bed. I've done gel nails once before and I also loved the no-chip and instant drying benefits. But for me personally, painting and doing nail art on my natural nails is very relaxing and fun, so I stick with that more often. I'm unsure of the long-term potentially negative effects of the gel nails, but I know they've created a formula now that doesn't need the UV light to set them. I'd check that out. :) I really enjoyed this video, thanks so much for sharing this! ♡
This is probably a rare case, but i got my nails done with gel for my formal 2 years ago, and they looked good, lasted 3 weeks, but after they were removed my nails were never the same. My natural nails were completely opaque (on the white), healthy and so thick i could not bite them, and everyone always thought they were fake. But after they haven't been as strong, it's not a huge difference, but they were still damaged a bit.
+tubaforeva The gel nails is just a nail polish that goes on over your natural nails so it's not really fake, it's just making your nails crazily durable. You can keep them short when you get them done :) That's what I did!
Nena Nena They're great! But when you get them taken off it does kind of kill your actual nails depending on where you get it done. If they try to file it off after using acetone then it can make your nails really weak and crap :(
+TortillaWitch yeh, I totaly agree, once I tried them (gel nails) and after they took them off, my nails were in awful condition (like super fin and distroyed) for about 5 months... I should say that the person who did them for me didn't have a big experience... So I really hope, will not happen with yours.
I LOVE getting my nails done, my mom is also really health conscious and always advises against them. But honestly they are a little guilty pleasure that gives me happiness! Like you said nobody is perfect, as long as we eat well, sleep, take care of our bodies and our mind then one little thing can't be all that bad for you? Maybe I am exaggerating and this is my midterm brain being delusional, but honestly when I'm having a shitty week with tons of work and typing, seeing my pretty nails gives me that little pleasure. Its my mental relief! But I would also love to know healthier options :)
I used to do nails as my first under the table job with my aunt haha. I also used to get gel nails and it really is a nice thing considering I was working with a lot of acetone and chemicals myself. They stay on for a long time and look really beautiful and stay super shiny. The only downside based on my experience though is if you decided to stop getting gel nails, it will take a while(depending) for your nails to be naturally thick again. Meaning once you remove the gel polish your nails can feel kind of thin maybe a little sensitive if you decided to go without any nail polish for a while. The acetone can be a problem. I don't know how your local nail salon removes them but you can remove them either by wrapping them in a cotton ball soaked with acetone or just soaking your fingers in a bowl of acetone. The first option is definitely less harsh for sure lol I find for me, since I stopped working at nail salons, regular nail polish can have long staying power to at least a week, and I find that that amount of time for one color is perfect for me. A good top coat that really helps the nail color stay on my nails is the Seche brand. Kinda expensive but definitely worth it. They really are a nice treat though and the staying power is definitely a plus, but overall I think regular nail polish works just as good. Hope this helps! I love your videos! :)
Hi Kassie it's so inspiring to hear your thoughts about beauty and how you always keep it real! I just love watching all your videos! about the nails, I have been doing nails for my family since I was 13 years old and I still do it part-time at the age of 24. I love Gel-Nails because it's the only thing I can wear while I am working and the nail polishes doesn't come off for 2-3 weeks. Most people uses UV light for the Gel nails for it to bake but there are also LED light machines for the Gel and that's what my family uses on our customers. It's better for you compared to UV because UV light can causes cancer. Also, I recommend that you don't do Gel all the time. Try to give your nails a break every month for 1/2 weeks, this way will let your nails have time to breathe from the polishes and acetone that is being used on them. I hope this help! 😊 looking forward to more videos Kassie!
Hey Kassie!! I always love hearing your recommendations. Thanks for sharing! I'm in the same boat as you as far as letting life be my exercise right now, haha! Also, I'm so bummed I missed you in Spain! I lived in Barcelona through June and then moved back to the States. I'm off to watch your BCN videos now! I've been MIA for a while. :P
Hey Kas! There are more natural shellac gel nail polish alternatives. They're supposedly more porous - allow your nails to breathe - etc etc. Ironically about to go get mine done right now! Here in Philadelphia I go to a place called "Mi Cumbia" and they straight up don't even allow acetone in the building. If you're ever in the area - gogogo! Most incredible, down to earth salon ever! Its killing me that I can't remember the gel brand they use!
Love how honest your videos are, and your tricks are really interesting, so I think I'll check out some of your skin care tips :D I'm also super happy to be one of your "lovely weirdos" haha
Creepy confession: I am obsessed with you :) you're so inspiring

"Don't do it because you hate yourself". So much yes.

+HealthNutNutrition Was a pleasure to meet you as well!! My CoQ10 lotion exploded in my suitcase, but I'm glad it's reasonably priced! :P

you're so real and down to earth!! i cant help but subscribe!
Love this girl so much. My favorite female on UA-cam. Incredibly intelligent, and humble, completely inspirational.

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your beauty routine with us :3 A year ago I watched one of your skincare videos and bought an oil cleanser with natural ingredients and no salicylic acid/benzoyl peroxide. You need to be an actress!!! You're beautiful, funny, positive, and for some reason, I LOVE the way you talk! (I just idk why, but i do)
Your videos are a fresh breath of air of my day. When i saw it was 12 minutes i was even happier❤️
Hey Cassie, Nicole guerriero uses a nail powder that she says is organic as an alternative to gel/acrylic. Though she said it was hard to find.
Kassie* oops! :)
SNS powder.
+Hannah Silver I must look into this. Nicole is a goddess, she's one of the few beauty gurus I actually watch :]
I love the go with the flow, heal your mind first, mentality of this video.
I'm from Barcelona!! I soo glad you enjoy being here!!
I`m getting my nails done every month and I always leave them all natural without any nailpolish or coloured gel so that I can paint them myself. What I love about gel nails is that you just never have to worry if your nails look good or not, but I hate when they start growing out...
This is why I love you!!!! That talk was amazing!

Love how Organic you are! I love your inspiration
I love you a little more after each video you post I swear you're the best
This is probably a rare case, but i got my nails done with gel for my formal 2 years ago, and they looked good, lasted 3 weeks, but after they were removed my nails were never the same. My natural nails were completely opaque (on the white), healthy and so thick i could not bite them, and everyone always thought they were fake. But after they haven't been as strong, it's not a huge difference, but they were still damaged a bit.
I can't have my nails too long, it just grosses me out and I can't do anything. I've never had fake nails or even a manicure but I do want to try it.
Yesssssss, long nails are sooooooo gross. I can't stand 'em!
+tubaforeva The gel nails is just a nail polish that goes on over your natural nails so it's not really fake, it's just making your nails crazily durable. You can keep them short when you get them done :) That's what I did!
+TortillaWitch i so want gel nails, mine are so dry
I love an appreciate your transparency and honesty! I can wait for more videos💕
Xoxo!
...and then she casually drops that she met and collaborated with Shakira. You know, nbd. 😳😳🤓😄😄😄 Love your videos, Kassie!
+Alexia Arellano I was so nervous, my mouth was doing what it wants hahah. Much love to you!
So down to earth and honest! Loved this video!
I'm probably going to get all of those products because I want my skin healthy and moisturised and those products will do the job so thank you . 💕
Love how honest your videos are, and your tricks are really interesting, so I think I'll check out some of your skin care tips :D
I'm also super happy to be one of your "lovely weirdos" haha
