Being from an asian household too...I love how you weren't ashamed in showing him the true conditions of your living (like the eastern style toilet). A lot of people are sometimes ashamed to show their culture to foreigners, worrying that they would judge. But the fact you knew that if he could accept your true self and being.. he IS the right choice for you and he truly loves you...really tells how well you handled the situation in a matured way. Loved this story of how you guys met. Wish you both many more happy moments together 💕💕

My husband came from Morocco and in Morocco they have those kind of toilets with the holes in the ground he wasn't ashamed to tell me that he had that kind of toilet and how that the bathroom was done at the end of the hall and each little floor at its own apartment and then it's on bathroom down the hall for their apartment building. And my mom was like I'm used to the toilet with the hole in the ground because she came with me and said I saw that in turkey when I visited no problem and for me I just felt like it's like permanently camping cuz it's a hole in the ground and utopian it like okay so I just thought like they use a toilet that looks like a camping toilet from when I go camping with my dad and then I was like oh well now you have to boil water so others like what we did when we went camping or bottled water on the portable gas stove okay cool. Anyways I treated it like camping but they did it permanently. It was kind of different but kind of weird. Anyways we are now ex-husband and ex-wife do two we wanted different things in our marriage but I'm glad you guys are working now and having a good time together and I hope you have a wonderful day.

@@nanzansama4180 my ex was never ashamed of the style of toilet he showed me like this. It was different and interesting to learn how to use one of those toilets with the hole in the floor and the foot pegs for squatting. My ex was not ashamed how to teach me how use that toilet. My ex-husband showed me how I visited his country in Morocco. He told his mom it's going to be embarrassing for her to learn how to use this toilet because she's so used to using the French toilet which is what they call the sit-down toilet I'm so used to using in the United States. Anyways he told her I have to teach her how to use this toilet she's used to using the French toilet and she's not used to this squat toilet. It took some time to getting used to it but the one thing I did learn is to constantly use soap and water to clean yourself. That's one thing I will always take with me every time I use any toilet and if I can't use soap and water in a public toilet then I will always carry baby wipes with me and make sure I'm super clean.

I am in a long distant relationship myself (9000km are keeping us apart) and people always tell me that it will not end the way I envision and that I can't trust him because I don't know what he is doing by himself in his country but everytime I see couples like yours, I believe the most that these are the strongest relationships ever and that you can endure any hard situations in life if you can endure not being with your love for such a long time. It's funny how you can meet and fall in love with someone in the most random circumstances. You can spend so much time trying to meet the perfect person for you on dating apps, but that just always seems to be a game. I found it easier to find someone in person when you have more than one time to make a good impression or to get to know that other person before you decide he/she is the one you'll shoot the shot with. It is cute how you two met by a simple mistake.

My wife and I met on a Filipino dating site on Jan 30th 2016. I flew there two weeks later on Feb 14th. I spent two weeks with her and we actually started the paperwork while I was there so that we wouldn’t have to mail things back and forth for signatures. She came to the states on Nov 5th and on Nov 25th 2016, we were married. This was 10 months after we first met online and only 2 weeks physically together. We are still marred today and have a 4 1/2 year old son.
By the way, I’m nowhere near rich. I took a loan just to fly there to meet her and to file the paperwork. After 14 years of being treated like shit by American women, I swore them off and took my chance. I’m still not rich today and she’s still around. Love does exist for anyone and everyone. Haters just can’t cope with that.

I have a few friends from the Din'neh tribe, one of them grew up on one of the reservations near there (though I think they might have been in AZ?) and I remember he showed us a picture of the house that he and his several siblings slept in. It was essentially a door tacked on to a bunch of 2x4s into a shelter no bigger than my bathroom. It's crazy to me that I went my whole life without knowing how impoverished many Native Americans are and how neither government seems to help the people. My friend worked his way out of poverty and put himself through school, and he wants to eventually work within the Native American government (I am sorry, I do not know how they refer to their government or legislature's) because he said its very corrupt and he thinks his people deserve better care.
I have complaints about my own upbringing but I think about his story when I start to feel too sorry for myself. He literally had nothing and through his own strength he was able to raise himself and his family up.

I never believed in long distance or online relationships until I met him. We finally met in person after 8 months. Married after three years. I studied in the US and always hold a US Visa. But my soulmate withdrew our 8 yrs commitment abruptly due to my duty abroad. He just couldn't take the wait until I set up a decent job in the US back.
I'm successful, make my own name in my career, fly to USA, Australia, Europe, Africa, Asia and quite well financially but my love life is being tested. So, I take a leap of faith. By cheering and loving to both of you, I hope the positive energy would spark my luck in our reunion.

Same time as my husband and I. Basically, we met in 2016 (Facebook). He was in NC and I was in TX. He sent me a message, and it was around this time when I was deleting people that I didn't know. I got to his name and was like "who is this?" I noticed that he sent me a message, and from there we developed a friendship. We weren't dating at the time, but we would call each other from time to time. We met in person for the 1st time in 2019. I was staying with him and his family, and that was when we shared our first kiss. We dated from January-February.......and that's qhen he proposed xD. We were trying to figure out wedding stuff and then 2020 happened. We were still long distance, until he moved to TX back in 2022. June 10, 2023 we are married and going through life together. I can't imagine being with anyone else. I'm really happy for you guys and I wish you all the best. You two are adorable

We are loved for who we are, not just what we can do, and we love the men we are with just like any man and woman.
