- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Gloria from Coronation Mass in C major, KV 317, sung by the Salisbury Cathedral Choir conducted by David Halls. The organ was played by Daniel Cook.
Although the choir is only accompanied by organ I think the result is quite superb. You might also relish the setting of this performance, Salisbury Cathedral, which is considered one of the leading examples of early English Gothic architecture.
This is part of the Easter Day Eucharist from Salisbury Cathedral, broadcast live on BBC One on Sunday, 24th of April 2011.

It's a bit strange to hear this sung by a choir with such an 'English sound,' but Salisbury have a really fantastic choir, and I always find myself wishing I could hear more of them. Thank you for posting this!
I love the huge baptismal font/pool in the middle of the sanctuary. The music is great also. I sang this for a special event in atlanta.
I visited this church already! Mozart is a genius! He's my favourite ever classical artist!!!!! Allelluia Amen!
Hallelujah Amen!
In memoriam my beloved father who loves thi song very much...miss you dad
I miss being in this choir sooo much!!
Sublime thank you.
Great rendition by the choir. Great camera coverage. Good work!
MAGNIFICENT PERFORMANCE !
PERFECT PERFORMANCE, BRAVO
Awesome!!! Awesome. Beautiful.
So beautiful
Thanks!!!!!
lovely
i love mozart.
Great.
this is amazing
Indeed, de Petropolis, Mozart is magnificent and Salisbury is sizzling with skill.
This is excellent.
Exactly. The Pope said'' the beautiful Anglican liturgy,'' about Anglican Ordinariates for Catholics.
waouuh ! 😍👏👏👏
Great
I understand your point of view. At St. Peter's Liturgy will be Palestrina (Palestrina or the period of the Renaissance) and Gregorian. The German Catholic Church has taken the works of Mozart, Haydn Masses considered more concerts. In Mozart's time some of his works were played with instruments during Mass. It was right then that we asked not to add instruments to the Liturgies, which became too long. But now, times have changed.
Extremely good camerawork!
frumos!! inaltator!! o muzica deosebita!!
La veu humana fa coses meravelloses. Una interpretació magnífica i inusual amb aquestes veus tan belles i harmonitzades. Gràcies per aquest enregistrament.
The English version of this song has a few omitted parts. We sang it during our music festivals but there are some parts that we did not sing. Still an amazing piece by Mozart
I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! I'M LEARNING ABOUT THEM IN MY CHOIR😍❤
Tengo el orgullo de haberla cantado en 1996 con el coro de la iglesia y la orquesta en Chihuahua Mexico, mi mayor experiencia de encuentro con Dios 🙏👍👍👍🙏
Hallelujah
You may be right Brasspitoon - few RC churches do Mozart masses these days, Oddly, a number of very 'high' Anglican churches use them at great festivals like Christmas, Easter, Assumption-tide, and so on. St Mary's Bourne Street in London (just off Sloane Square) regularly uses these setting at their High Masses, often with a small orchestra and adult soloists.
From an ex-Cathedral chorister may I congratulate the girls for their splendid contribution. I think the sound-men could have done a slightly better job in that the trebles got a bit "lost". Nice organ too.
Heavnly
Salisbury Cathedral Chatholic or Chruch of England?
Henry Phattanadon Church of England

I expect the self-same folk who complain about lengthy choral works, once in the pulpit, drone on & on. It was St.Augustine who said, "he who sings, prays twice". Someone should have told +Sarum and his concelebrants, that once the Gloria is intoned, one can sit down, bowing one's head at 'glorificamus Te' &c., & crossing oneself at 'Tu solus sanctus'. Indeed, the preservation of the Anglican choral tradition is one of the reasons why the Pope established the Ordinariates for Anglican Catholics.
C'est esprit
My choir is singing this too on measure 6 you need an 8 rest
It's a really great video. The singers are really talented, but the Soprano voice takes over a lot more in the Solos that it should. Besides, the Alto voice, such as in the Chorus and in the Solo parts is very remote or maybe it's not even there. It's supposed to be the 2nd voice in the whole chorus, so why omit it?
Is this a Catholic or Anglican Mass?
Anglican.
Church of England
I liked it, but I only heard the sopranos :/
+Valeria salcedo coello The treble line was weak...The girls were better. Nevertheless they are very talented children.
Alas! Trebles and girl sopranos - a place for both, but not together! Alas! Shame so few can hear the difference between the treble and the girl soprano.
A boys choir with girls for me is no boys choir !
