- This Saturday, Newcastle was witness as the two best and most evenly matched teams in Europe clashed for the chance to call themselves number one. So how did Saracens eventually win what looked set to be a seismic stalemate?

Superdense content, isn't it?
I often end up missing out on most of the actual commentary for these videos because I spend most of the time "watching", just pausing to read all the text boxes.
'"i'm not either of saracens fans" haha i'm dying and i'm not even 7 seconds in yet
"Acts like his Instagram and doesn't think" 😂 great video once again
Please make a full 10 min video on Alex Goode's 3 days
Jamie Burke lol the video would be a step-by-step analysis on how he didn’t die of liver failure
@@sumboi2321 as a dirty American, I was very curious as to what happened, I thank you for the highlight reel.
The Johnny Sexton names are all I watch for
Loved those Toulon highlights Squidge, Merci Sir Jonny!
"I'm neither of Saracen's fans". That's hilarious
First video I’ve seen, immediately subscribing! Real rugby content and hilarious, awesome man!
Woohoo! nice work as always! and the T-Shirt is gas.
i instantly noticed the T and loved it!
Very glad you took a moment to appreciate how good Garces was in this game - brilliantly refereed from start to finish
Finally.... been waiting for this video!!!
Wonderfully insightful as usual. Your honorary doctorate of rugby analysis is winging its way to you.
I get excited every time you post
Haha that Tshirt is brilliant
What a brilliant channel! Cheers Squidge
Great editing!
I amazed nobody is objecting to the two yellows. A first penalty in the red zone, unless a blatant penalty try scoring issue, is never a yellow card. Garces clearly said the Sarries one was for 3 penalties, two of which were committed by the same man. For Leinster, he then said its the same, 'you committed foul in the red zone in clear try scoring opportunity'. Those two situations are not equal, and only make sense in somebody like Garces eyes. If Leinster had committed 3 penalty fouls in the run of play, then it would have been similar, but only if they all came under sustained pressure of Sarries bombarding the try line from within 5m. Just like the Sarries yellow
Exactly. As Squidge says the game was decided by the two yellows. Garces made an error, probably concerned that he'd given Sarries a yellow and thus needed to balance it out. Real shame as I think without Fardy in the bin it would have been a seriously close finish, one of those nail bitters, which would have been epic.
So what substances did you take this week to get this video out so fast...???
5 days is a very long time to make 1 video?
Cocaine!
Crystal meth from New Zealand
Love your channel m8
Also by breaching the salary cap
Leinster and Munster spend more then Saracens. No salary cap in Europe princess
Except they don't, while there is no official salary cap, the estimated salary expenses for Irish clubs are £6.6 million while Saracens are just under £8 million with the salary cap being £7 million in the English Premiership
@@LimpingTitan no your way off in 2019 Leinster had a playera salary bill of €12m call it £ 8.8.
well... we've got a better idea of how they pulled it off now hahaha
Hey thanks for the shout out. I'm from the part of Leinster that's not Dublin.
you're the man!
After seeing Barringtons dressing room antics.. they could actually win Eurovision
Great video man! I’m a huge Leinster fan and I agree with your comment that they are both really evenly matched. I felt Leinster were a little bit off on the day.!
Well they certainly made up for it this season (19/20) and a chance for revenge in September
This is brilliant
Off to watch Glasgow Warriors tomorrow V Ulster in the Pro 14 Semis. Here's hoping for a victory!
For a moment Owen Farrell was passing like Larry Bird and playing like an assassin. The Saracens were pretty ruthless. Thank you for your humour and insights. I hope Billy gets some insights too.
Update: Leinster lost to sarries in the quarters the next year
Second update: And the were then found to have cheated to get into the competition and were leniently only booted to the second tier
@@jeffrey89095 their breaching the salary cap is irrelevant, different league Sarries and Leinster the two nest teams similar wage bills packed with stars . On the day Sarries were the better team . Get over it
@@patrickchilds2987 it's not irrelevant they cheated to get into the tournament. And the salary expenditure isn't remotely close. Leinster will have 2-4 high earners but many players are on central irfu contracts or significantly lower amounts. They also accept lower amounts than they would otherwise earn abroad because they're mostly Leinster lads who want to play for Leinster. Saracens just bought players from other English teams or saffas and broke their own league rules to do so. Night and day. Of course the better team on the pitch won but perfectly fair to point out how they compiled the better team.
My favourite squidgy references is sexton’s various names, sexy tommy bowe and all the Izzy jokes
Interesting thing I noticed but hasn't been mentioned anywhere at 10- 10 at about 56 minutes maro appears 2 obstruct Leinster's defensive line. I think they made the break that eventually made the try in the end off the back of it. It looked like a pre arranged play almost.
Sarries manage games superbly. And that rush defence...
keep making videos please and thank you
'Saracens showed the most efficient use of an edge this side of U2' - unreal
I'm a Hurricanes fan, both these teams look like they play the sort of rugby to trouble us. Would love to see the 'saders (or the canes when the forwards stand up) play either of these teams
Where the hell can i get a replay of the game???
Ive got foxtel and it has not been there, cant find it anywhere on the net.
Good stuff, as far as it goes. But I don't think you can do a piece on Sarries win and not mention their dominance of the collisions.
Saracens are underrated
it was practically just england vs ireland
If Leinster had a typo on a team sheet and added Yoann Huget- Saracens- 125-0 Leinster
Can you do a video on the PRO14 final?
lol his shirt
Unreal. I really could not understand why larmour bit for the Maitland try.
conor murray to be honest I reckon that’s a try anyway, even Farrell couldn’t power through Maitland from 5 meters out with 15 meters of space almost definitely is in the corner
good chap you are squidge
You're analysis videos took the sting out of losing especially having l
Flown to new castle in the hope leinster would crush the saracens.
7:46 "By dawdling to every lineout"
Shows lineout absent of any Leinster players...
The beard is looking well Squidge.
'Come closer my spuds' 😭😂
Please make that tee-shirt available as official merch!
Gutted but starries deserved it, they are some team. Mark McCall deserves so much credit, he was basically ran out the door at Ulster
The Leinster pack is not physical enough. They were brilliantly drilled, but the result is the best Leinster could have achieved without Saracens making mistakes.
Hmm a Squidge Rugby clothing line. Nice. When will the 'nerd boy' shirt be available?
Do a Saracens vs Crusaders predicted outcome video!
Would love to see them play each other!
Crusaders would smash them
Benji Bill yeah ok get off your high horse bud
Leinster would beat them both
John Pender sure thing mate!😂
Your videos inspired me to read faster
Must be giddy for this years quarter final then
As a Sarries fan sitting next to very disgruntled Leinster fans I can tell you all we were shouting was "Eat the clock" over and over when Maro Was in the bin...they weren't very happy Sarries actually did.
The refs need to start cracking down on the offside rule, it's killing the game.
When you look at the title and say”they scored more points”
Agree re: Ringrose - a player i really rate normally.
Nice
Love the videos. Fair play to sarries leinster just made too many sloppy mistakes with ringrose McGrath and silly intercept passes. well deserved champions.
Pls will u do a top 10 players in the world
Pro 14 finals predictions?
Could you do a video on Pontypool rugby
Recognition of chiefs as a side good enough to beat Saracens and more than likely finish above them?
I think we all know the real reason now...
Great analysis. One thing that was critical outside of the match was how big Billy was on the pitch. And then there's England! I can kinda understand a club team getting behind a player but the national team!
Can u do these on super rugby apteroa
So you've waxed lyrical about Leinster, but given respective recent form were they to meet Glasgow in the pro14 final at Celtic Park I can't see them winning.
Vinipola was on fire with interceptions, and Farrel did tackle a lot ... DAM I HATE SARRIES, but they were more focus. And repeating myself, ENG has counter act IRL game structure, cause this is so like 6 Nations, and this Club final is almost a test match.
Yay 9+1/2 stone twins!
this made me a little angry! great video as usual
Do a video of the Lions, I'm South African btw
I don’t think you give Sarries enough respect. You claim it was just the sin binning periods which made the difference. Yet Sarries D and intensity was far greater than Leinster, out classed them in my opinion
Now time to talk about exeter
Took your time making a damn video( ● - ● )
Great video but I feel the whole vunipola situation is bit old now and I am glad Billy proved people wrong in this game.
How did he prove people wrong?
@@macglinchey there was a lot of discussion that Billy should have been dropped from games and some even saying the England team because of the situation and the whole thing made people judge him based on his views not the way he plays. This performance made me happy that he showed that he shouldn't be judge because of his views but based on his talent. Anyway the previous comment wasnt to try and bring the whole discussion back. I was just bored of all the repetitive jokes and statements that are still happening.
Scot Fardy = god. I wish he still played for Australia
What did Alex Goode do?
When on the piss after the match in his full kitt
@@henryfrost6964 ahahhahaha
What does the shirt say?
"Stay out of politics nerd boy"
@@richieclark882 haha love it
Well Saracens only won by breaching the salary cap. Im actually glad they are not gonna be in the Premiership for now at least.
Comment for the algorithm.
I am one of Saracens two fans!! Looking for the other if anyone knows them
0:50 that's getting demonatized
Gary ringrose is slightly overrated in my opinion,
Often makes the wrong decision and almost cost his team the game against Ulster in the QF as he got 2 kicks charged down (one charge down resulted in a try). Decent player but not as good as people make him out
I think Ringrose is overrated slightly in an attacking sense, but I think his defending is drastically underrated. He's one of the best centres in Europe at defending
In attack he's very good at making something out of nothing. Not so much the fundamentals and working within the system.
His defensive reads are excellent though
Winner of Super 15 has to play the Winner of the European championship
360p Gang🤟🏾
is Squidge Welsh or English?
I think his family are Welsh but he grew up in England or something, he said it in a video, i just dont know which one, but it's a chance to rewatch i guess 😂😂
I presume he’s one of the classic guys u find in English rugby. Who are English, grown up in England and live and work in England but had a welsh great great grand parent and so as soon as the rugby comes on puts on the red face paint and start screeming cymru am byth . He might not be one of those guys and probs has perfectly legit reasons but Christ do those guys annoy me.
alan B so accurate
What did Alex goode do
Idk Alex Goode, I only know this Andy Goode the papers and commentary seem to keep referring to
Louis Baker-Madec was in the pub for 3 days in full kit and boots. Unclear if he ever went home or was just there the whole time
Conor Manning mad
who do you support squidge?
JS C oh dear 😂
A year later, and the score was just the same. Saracens were badly depleted, but still won. You got that wrong then.
Crash bang rugby at its best .
Leinster stood off too much in defence, constantly conceeding easy territory, could find any way around Sarries defensive pattern, threw too many aimless passes, and kicked away or spilled all their possession.
They won by ignoring the salary cap and well done to them. They have a great team of players who are totally incurious about how the money they’re paid affects the agreed salary cap. Not so great for the rest of the rugby clubs though ! If you play for a team with real salary cap will you win an international cap ? Answers on an email please lol !
Sarries won because they were the better side on the day. The breaching of the salary cap in the premiership is irrelevant. Both Sarries and Leinster had similar player spend.
yeet
Could you please branch out into women’s rugby as well?? England’s current team is amazing and it would be great to have an in-depth analysis :) but great work keep it up 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
seconded
Squidge, do you support Newcastle Falcons like me? 😈
Have to disagree that that the two teams are so evenly matched that if they played again tomorrow Leinster could win. Saracens, besides two short spells in each half, were by far the better team, dominating collisions, making metres (while Leinster were being pushed back) and looking more threatening in attack and at the breakdown. Sarries, I feel, would win 9 out of 10 contests between the two if played on consecutive weekends now
Hardly. Leinster weren’t even at their best in this game. Sexton and Luke McGrath were both poor and when you half backs are playing shit it’s real hard to win. And your comment makes loads of sense based on the fact that saracens have beaten Leinster once in four attempts. Great logic.
@@robkiernan556 Hahaha you are clutching at straws now! For a start, Sexton and McGrath didn't play well because they were totally dominated. That's what happens when you're on the back foot. Same happened to Sexton in the 6N when England turned up and put Ireland on their arses. A great team and player can play well when put under that pressure - they didn't. I'm a massive fan of Sexton and he deserved the World player of the year award last year, but he's been pulled apart this year. Great players don't play shit in finals. Your point about Leinster having won so many games against Saracens - correct, yes - but what relevance does that have on my comment about Saracens beating Leinster now? Leinster won by 2 points at Wembley in 2011, does that have any bearing on 2019? How's your logic now?! Leinster are a great team but a shadow of Saracens at their best (even at their own best). I'm not a Saracens supporter btw, I'm a neutral.
Graham Vincent it’s relevant because every game is different. Listen to yourself😂😂😂😂 you’re telling me that saracens would beat Leinster 99 times out of a hundred then you’re smoking crack. And hardly Leinster were winning that game 10-0 and basically threw it away before half time. Even tho they’ve been shit since they disbanded from the Ireland squad for the six nations. Leinster at their best are well capable of beating this team you’re either extremely biased or just ignorant if you don’t see that. Saracens got the upper hand physically especially later on in the game but next time could be different just like last year when Leinster squashed them. And Leinster haven’t been anywhere near their best in the latter half of this champions cup. It’s like Ireland six nations had a knock on effect to their confidence but the way Leinster were playing in the group stages they would have beat saracens in my opinion. And your point about saracens being better than Leinster at their best well that’s fair enough if you think so but the truth is there really isn’t much between these teams and if you think that saracens are gonna beat an in form Leinster every time they take the field you’re smoking some serious crack😂😂😂😂 they were losing 10-0 at their best ever form against a Leinster team well short of their best form heading into that final and were just let back into the game because luke McGrath was garbage. Your point about pressure is right but they didn’t make any of the right decisions when it came to kicking for territory as well as stupid needless box kicks. In my opinion Leinster would win if they were both at their best but it would be close. Your comment about saracens winning 99 percent of the time
Is some serious crack smoking shit tho I think you’re the only person that thinks that sorry man😂😂 Saracens beat Leinster one time and all of a sudden They’re invincible
Hahahaha.
And by the way I think saracens are a great team I just don’t buy that they’d could beat leinster nearly every time they play them I feel it could be 5-5 if they played ten games or sometime like 6-4 in either of their favour. They’re two great teams and I feel saracens have an edge in the pack because their huge which is crazy because Leinster actually have such a good pack but easily the two best packs in Europe. But because it was so attritional I feel that’s partly why saracens edged it. I feel Leinster are a better attacking team. Saracens are also a really good attacking team but like I said about saracens pack in this case I think Leinster just edge them there. They were really flat in defense and Leinster didn’t cope with it well on the day and were committing far too many to rucks but on a different day it’s a different game and Leinster could get the upper hand physically. Like they did last year. Anyway two great teams it’s an interesting conversation.
Keep out of nerd, politics boy.
Nice T-shirt, nerd boy.
