This is genius, Ann! I am constantly looking for storage for my stickers, envelopes, etc., but the price for these things is crazy high! Thank you for a video that shows me how to make the storage box, and I can use my papers. I love watching your videos, and always look forward to your next one! Thank you!!
Love these boxes. I bought 4 of these from a vendor thinking I could always get more. Ha, ha! They don’t sell them any longer. This will do very nicely for me. THANKS!
Thank you for leaving your mistake in....it helps those of us who muck up a bit realize that EVERYBODY mucks up occasionally and that there is usually an easy fix to make things right as rain! My daughter just got married and moved out, so now I have a decent sized space for a studio, so I will definitely be making a few of these to store and to decorate. My art supplies seem to grow at an astounding rate some times!! God Bless!
I think you had a brilliant idea when you thought up the black corner thingies with eyelets! They really look sharp, and honestly something people are happy to spend lots of money on, just to have their craft space looking cool. You are one very smart and clever girl! I got out of order and watched your next installment before this one, but I loved that one just as much as this one! What great ideas you have! Thank you!
Beautiful box, great tutorial and the “bling” on the edges certainly makes it all the more gorgeous. Thank you for the precise instructions w/cut measurements
Hi Ann, Your crafty makings are just getting better & better on every crafty tutorial you do 👍🤗 I think it is so good when you show the mistakes you make on camera because that show's you are only human and a very good and patient crafter ....love to you Ann, ❣️👌🐕🌟 Lin
Well done!!!!👍🏻 Thank you for showing us how to make storage boxes that suit our needs and preferences as far as size and coloration. No longer will we be at the mercy of pre-made boxes! Yay!! I'm a Tim Holtz kind of girl, and I have LOTS of Tim Holtz paper and embellishments to make these fit the vintage style of my decor. Thank you again!! 🥰
Love this box which I will be making. It will fill some wasted space on a shelf where I have made 2 rotary ink pad storage towers. Didn’t have room on the top of them to make the ink refill storage tray. This box will fill the bill nicely. Thanks
Oh you are so clever!! A brilliant video and easy to follow instructions. Thank you sooo very much I'm sure there will be loads of crafters doing this.👍🏻👍🏻💕💕💕💕😍😍😍😍🐶🐶🐶🇬🇧🇬🇧
I make many of my own boxes. But, I do like this style. I usually use contact paper to cover mine. May I suggest using clips when trying to join the pieces together. That way you can put them out of the way. I love your videos. So many wonderful ideas. I make my boxes by cutting apart boxes. Yours are much nicer looking for sure. The eyelet's really added to the box. Much it look much more expensive.
Absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these Ann & I'll definitely be making myself some of these. I was going to look in the pound & charity shops for something similar but with this tutorial, I can now make matching ones, using up my stash & save money too. Thanks for sharing. XXX
Hi Ann, these boxes look very sturdy and durable. Love the design. Black always looks good when you use it ! They look so good and as you say, they are professional. Thankyou for sharing some great storage boxes.
I started this tonight. The only thing I did thus far, is cut all my stuff in prep for the morning. In prepping, I did do one thing differently with the decorative end caps for the outside. I cut (5x4) and scored mine as you did, at the 1, 2 & 3 but instead of folding them in half, after burnishing the scorelines, I folded the end flaps into the middle to meet the middle scoreline; and then I rounded off the corners, like you did. 🤣 Except my corner rounder makes tiny corners so I used my 1" punch and slipped the corner edges into it and snipped for a more rounded edge, like yours has. This gives both sides of the decorative end cap for the four corners of the outside of the box, finished edges on both sides of that decorative piece. I have an issue with unfinished edges and when I was getting ready to grab my Crop-a-Dile to do the eyelets, I realized that the open edge was bothering me. So, I tweaked it for my box. Also, I have the Crop-a-Dile Big Bite II so, I am considering putting the eyelets on, through the box. I'll decide that in the morning. FYI: You have great ideas and I'm really enjoying making a few of the things you've done. You rock, Ann!
Well, Nat, did you decide to put the eyelets THROUGH the box sides? (You can “EDIT” your previous comment to ADD YOUR REPLY. At least I can on my iPad. 🤔)
Anne, you've outdone yourself again! WOW FACTOR! Love it....I shall be making a few of these boxes for my Craft'n Space. A great way to use up your stash. Thank you for sharing...
Ashame Lime tree does not ship to the USA. Love this storage box! Waiting on my supplies to get here so I can make this and the ink pad holder! I love how the grommets take it to the next level of awesome!
Ann, I just found this video. What a gorgeous box. I can't wait to make a few. I was wondering, I live in Arizona, and it's very dusty out here. Could you possibly show us how to make it with a lid? Besides storing items in it, I want to use it to store daily tag projects. Thank you for this beautiful box, and how you covered your corners was BRILLIANT 💡☺️😍
Not to take A THING away from Ann on her creativity - she is G R E A T ! - but, many years ago, Hancock Fabrics, a now defunct American company, offered a flat folded cardboard box, VERY MUCH LIKE the BOXES USED to STORE OLD FINANCIAL RECORDS, that could be “popped up” and used to file dress patterns. LOVE THEM, and wish SOMEONE would make them again!!! They’re roughly 7.5” w. X 9.?” t. X 11.5” d. (Longest dimension WILL accommodate a manila folder, although the i.d. tab has to fold down for the lid to go on.). I’ve stored my stamps, dies, embossing folders, even larger stencils in these. The very best of luck with your projects!!
Ann, just a bit of help for your lovely makes in the future use print stick over the tape, it gives you enough time to wiggle into place. Hope this helps xx
Hey Ann Hope all is good with you, what a fabulous project, love it will definitely be giving this a go.Thank you for sharing. Love to be able to make my own storage instead of spending stupid amounts on plastic stuff which is bad for the environment so any more storage ideas would be great especially without using dies. Thanks again xx
Stunning Ann. Very similar to the one Edith at Scrapbooking with me, made recently. However your solid wall sections and the decorative borders gives you a finished look that is uniquely yours. Very classy.
Love this project. When I do "Joints" like you did with your sides and bace, I pop just a "little" liquid glue over the DST to give me a bit of wiggle room. Thank you for sharing 💖
I think the only thing I may have done differently is put the sides/front/back on the bottom then put the final cover on. It would make the bottom cleaner. LOL! You ended up having to do it anyway. But I think it looks great!
If you click the link in the description box for the blog post, you'll see that she says she used cereal boxes glued together. You could probably use as many layers as you desire to get the thickness you want.
Fantastic box Ann, I will definitely be making a few of these. A great place to put all those bits and pieces that end up in a drawer or in like a shoe box lol. I have lots of embellishments to put in one, and many other things to put in the others I’ll be making, first thing I need to do is order some black card. Do you get the a4 like the white stuff, or is it a different weight? I think I’ll definitely be covering the bottom cause pulling it out and in it might start catching on the folded bits on the bottom, so best covering it. If you have any other storage boxes you can do, I’d love to see them. From my heart to yours xxx Ann xxx
This is gorgeous!! Where do you get your pliers from? I have eyelets but it’s a post and hammer to put them in and it’s hopeless haha. I have looked on amazon, but the reviews aren’t good for the pliers.....
Love this box, looks strong and sturdy! will be giving this a go for sure. Where do u get your eyelets & washers from please? I need to use my cropadile more but don’t have washers. Tfs
