Hello is this flail mover capable to mulch peach orchard branches after pruning ? lets say branches to max diameter of ~ 15 mm
Yep, no problem.
How much does the 35 inch weigh? Just the attachment.
About 265 lbs. It's a heavy one. We recommend the bumper weight kit to offset the weight, which makes it way easier to maneuver.

What's the difference between a flail mower and a brush cutter?
Flail mowers have vertically spinning hammer blades that pulverize material into a fine mulch before letting it fall out the back. Brush mowers have horizontally spinning rotary blades. Flail mowers are perfect for shredding cover crops or spent crops in place if you want the material to break down quickly and feed the soil.

Cool. That's the first video of a flail mower mowing something other than tall grass on flat ground that I've seen. Thank you! How would it work on taller shrubs like multiflora rose and japanese honeysuckle or high thickets of porcelain berry? The mower height is so short I have a hard time imagining these taller problems getting mown down.
If the tractor can bend it over, the flail mower can shred it. It's essentially a shredder on wheels with vertically rotating hammer blades.

There are some problems with this. When mowing larger bushes with thicker trunks, the machine can stop. I got a 740 and got stuck like that a few times. You then need to pull it back, restart and hope it grinds through whatever is inside before moving forward again. I found it helps in such situations to lift the mower up and slowly let it down while it's churning through the bush.

I have an 853 and bcs brush mower. Will the Flail Mower do better and black berries Vines or does the brush mower do better?
It depends on how long the blackberry has gone untended. If it gets cut back each year, the brush mower works very well. If it has gone a few years and gotten a bit out of control, the flail mower is much more useful.

@@BCSAmerica is that correct? I would think it would be the other way around... a few years growth would be easier with the brush cutter, and once a year cutting would have better results with the flail mower, no?
@@Jacknox Yes, it is correct. The Flail Mower is our most powerful mower by far. It will pulverize woody brush into a much finer mulch than the brush mower. The 30" Flail has 38 hammer blades spinning on a horizontal shaft, so it is literally a shredder on wheels. The Brush Mower has two swing-away rotary blades that chop just like a rotary mower. For maintaining blackberry vines regularly, the Brush Mower will do fine. For blackberry vines that are overgrown, taller than the mower, the Flail mower is the weapon of choice. It may require multiple passes, but it will do the job WAY more efficiently than any Brush Mower (BCS or otherwise).
In either case, if the goal is to keep the blackberry from growing back, the Flail is the better option. It's the only mower we offer that can be lowered to ground level to cut back all of the growth.

Is that lady on steroids??? I ve got the same tech, am 6’3 guy and would have my upper back muscles screaming after such clean up. Bcs is specially using ladies to kind of lie of how easy is to operate their machinery. The reality turns out to be something else…. Get a 4w tractor and save your back.
The key is to let the tractor do the work, not to fight it. Use the tractor's features like steering brakes, differential drive, and shuttle reverse to control the machine. If you're using your strength to try and guide the tractor, you're going to have a rough day. It's completely self-propelled, so using all of the tractor's features to your advantage will make work much easier. Carman (in this video) owns the tractor and flail mower she is using. She'd be the first to tell you that she's not a body builder, just an elderberry farmer who uses her flail regularly around her property!
