From the rumors I have heard, no one wants the saints coaching job because the roster will only get worse, cap he'll, but Saints don't trade best players away. If the gm left it would definitely become more desirable.
I don’t wanna bash you too hard, because I understand it is difficult to know indefinite knowledge of every single team in the league. But if you’re gonna do a video like this, you should do heavy research and know what you’re talking about. The last two coaches, the Jacksonville Jaguars have hired of both been heavily offensive minded. While urban Meyer was a complete bust, he wasn’t offensive minded head coach. And Doug Peterson said not only is an offensive minded head coach, but a former offensive coordinator under Andy Reid and a former NFL quarterback. You really can’t get much more offensive minded than that. I wish you the best with future videos, but hard to take anyone seriously when they really don’t know what they’re talking about
Trevor Lawrence has not had an offensive minded coach in his career??? Dude are you CLUELESS??? Doug Pedersen was a QB in NFL...he was an Offensive Coach...and we INVESTED in RB's, TE's, and WR's to give Trevor WEAPONS...now Doug P was SOFT and our O-Line was SOFT and Doug's offense was SOFT...but to say Trevor did not have an Offensive minded coach in his career is CLUELESS!!! He had Doug P same SYSTEM and Coaches for 3 years IN A ROW!!!
As a Jets fan, there's major differences between Aaron Glenn and Robert Saleh. Namely, the fact that Aaron has a lot of familiarity with the Jets before becoming a HC, and he's a CEO-type guy, whereas Saleh was the defensive coordinator with the head coach title.
@trevonpernell0814 - fellow Jet fan here. I completely agree with what you said & I feel Glenn's "no-nonsense / hold guys accountable" style of coaching is what will make him successful in NY. Saleh was way too soft & too "buddy-buddy" with all the Jet players and the results showed on game day. Plus AG is a former Jet & has seen what it takes in order to turn a losing franchise around. And he's done so with multiple teams throughout his career as both player & coach.
@GregKlein-cu3rd It also helps he's a Bill Parcells favorite, and as Adam Jaxon of FivePoints Vids can tell you, that should be considered an accomplishment to be a Bill Parcells favorite.
Yeah this guy missed the part where the bucs put a stipulation that he couldn’t take a second interview in order to take the contract the bucs offered. Which is against league policy.
Yes the bucs put a verbal stipulation in the offer to not do a second interview. The bucs also encouraged coen to do the first for experience after they met coens request to become the highest paid OC in the league, by a wide margin. He then told the staff, the GM, the players, and Mayfield that he was coming back only to ghost them. THEN he said his kid was sick and was dealing with that as the reason he wasn't returning calls WHILE HE WAS INTERVIEWING IN JACKSONVILLE, only calling bowles to let him know that he was looking back into the Jax offer after news broke on Thursday. The bucs gave him everything he wanted and, without them, he wouldn't be where he is. His lack of respect to the organization that helped catapult his career tells me everything I need to know about who he is as a person.
@@MetroSportsYTyou also forgot Coen was at the hospital nearly all day on Friday as his (Jaxon or Callahan) was sick and needed treatment. But yes, Jordan Deluga of Duval Daily has mentioned the way the bucs were conducting themselves as suspect at best.
If I had to rank the hires: 1. Patriots | Mike Vrabel - Establishing culture, tough guy 2. Bears | Ben Johnson - Genius playcaller in the right situation 3. Jets | Aaron Glenn - Establishing culture, tough guy, has connections around the league and understands the NY media 4. Jaguars | Liam Coen - Trevor Lawrence gets a real playcaller 5. Raiders | Pete Carroll - Uh, he’s respected amongst the league but it’s a little surprising 6. Cowboys | Brian Schottenheimer - ……….
@ idk man….Coen seems very green and Pete looked like he lost a step or two during his final days in Seattle. I think Aaron Glenn is the most likely to lead his team to the Playoffs in year 1.
Why is Aarong Glenn so high? Are you a Jets fan? I still dont understand how people can think that these unproven cooridnator hires are better than pete carroll, a head coach who has countless hours of experience and proven he can win a superbowl. Sure hes old, but if anyone can find a good successor its pete.
@ because that’s simply where the league is going. Aaron Glenn is quite literally perfect for the Jets, there’s more to being a head coach than just a former coordinator. Pete Carroll like I said, has lost a few steps. That’s just the nature of the game.
Agree with Ben Jonson being #1 but Vrabel is #2 easy. As a Titans fan its impressive what he was able to do by elevating the teams he had. Making the titans a rather consistent playoff team with one of the most underratedly poor front offices over this past decade has to count for something.
Coen wasn’t ignoring the Bucs. He was at the hospital as one of his sons was ill. He was doing what a parent should do: set work aside and focus on your family. He called Todd Bowles back after he was done at the hospital.
I've been a Jets season ticket holder since long before you were born and have listened too almost every Robert Saleh press conference. Believe me, he is very different from Aaron Glenn. Saleh is the same as other Jets first time head coaches from the defensive side. Ryan and Bowles never spent time with the offense. Saleh didn't for his first three years. After much criticism, he said during training camp that he would spend time with the offense. I'm sure he did but I bet it was Aaron Rodgers telling Saleh what he plans to do and not the other way aroung. I listened to Glenn's last press conference with Lions. Someone said that Super Bowls are being won by offensive coaches. His response was that if you hire him, you are hiring a football coachnot a defensive coach, that he knows offense like a lot of other people and he will spend equal time with the offense and the defense. Finally, what really sets them apart is that Glenn played in New York and understands the pressures are not the same as coaching elsewhere. And he's not afraid to get into a players face, something Saleh never did. While he displayed energy on the sidelines in SF applauding, slapping and hugging players, Saleh was a statue on the sidelines with the Jets. Keep up the good work.
Ranking a new head coach before they even coach a game is pointless. Its the same as grading Nfl Draft pick before they play. You have zero idea how this will play out.
Philadelphia Eagles (2009-2010) Offensive quality control coach, Philadelphia Eagles (2011-2012) Quarterbacks coach, Kansas City Chiefs (2013-2015) Offensive coordinator. How is that not an offensive minded coach
Aaron Glenn has more genuine passion and fire for coaching in his pinky toe than Coach Saleh. Aaron is coming home to turn my sorry Jets from the laughing stock of the league to the team no QB wants to play.
Means NOTHING if they don't get a QB themselves...Jets will be 7-10, 8-9 tops for a few years and then he gets fired if they dont get a qb....which is hard to do.
@leevancleef358 Not sure if the Jets will ever be able to draft, develop and retain a rookie QB. We may just need to keep going the veteran route. I am hopeful building two dominant lines, and a great running game allows us to make waves in the playoffs in a few years.
Bucs were dirty, saying he can only be the highest paid OC if he doesn't go to the second interview. Kind of dirty of them trying to strong hold him like that
Bad take . Saleh put together a terrible staff . Glenn will put a good staff together and that’s going to be a huge difference. I don’t think they’re similar at all.
The Bears had one of the worst defenses, poor o-line, least number of weapons and horrible coaches during Fields QB time. Fields had 1 premiere WR for 13 games and an above average defense for 10 games.
They had a top ten defense for 2 years and a top 5 defense for about ten games, as well as having a fairly decent OL in 2023. He had more than enough time and support to show us literally anything
@@DROPOUTCRIS Dude besides the rush defense being good for 2 of the 3 years the Pass defense was horrible. Then the Score defense was even worse being 22nd in 2021, 32nd in 2022 and 20th in 2023. The Bears 14 game losing streak the defense averaged giving up more than 30 points a game. As for weapons last year PFF ranked the Bears with least amount of above average weapons with 2 (Moore and Kmet). Yet Fields went 5-7... the 27th best ranked play caller. The 10th, 107th, 115th ranked Receivers and 11th and 63rd best TE. Not to mention Fields was the team's leading rusher each year. He was pressured the 2nd fastest and he took less sacks. His bad throw rate dropped and was lower than Lamar Jackson's, Love and CJ Stroud. Now let's look at 2023 PFF rankings for WR&TE. Moore 10th, Allen 11th, Scott 115th, Odunze N/A - Kmet 11th and Everett 26th. In 2024, Moore 37th, Allen 70th, Odunze 73rd Scott N/A - Kmet 31st and Everett N/A. Plus, 3 of the starting O-linemen ranked pretty higher than last years with Shelton being the 19th best Center. Darnell Wright ranked 16th and Braxton Jones ranked 20th best Tackle. With more talent on the team the Bears still wen 5-12.
And this is why you’re on UA-cam cause you don’t understand much…Aaron Glenn is nothing like Robert Saleh! First of all, Robert Sal never played a down in the NFL. Robert Salah was never a scout on any level. Robert Salah never had a presence in the locker room. By all accounts, he would tell the players one thing then tell the position coaches something else leaving the player, confused about their role on the team.. which makes him a liar. Robert Sal never had a true philosophy towards winning. He used slogans like all gas no brakes, but what does that mean when you didn’t install a culture? Robert Salah was only ever a DC. Aaron Glenn could break down a DB and tell him how to play a WR. Glenn can also talk to a WR and tell him how to attack a DB. One thing is for sure time will tell whether or not he was better or worse than Rob Salah. I’m betting on the former and not the latter. We do agree, however, that the New York Jets need to use this draft to completely rebuild their defensive line, the defensive backfield and add a couple of free agents to quickly turn this team around. They will have to rely on their defense like many teams if they want to get into the playoffs. If Rodgers and Adams stay with the team and Rodgers is willing to learn something new this team could be in the playoffs this upcoming season.
