Hi Ma'am. I have a Bachelor's degree with my majors in accounting and I have worked for a company secretary for 1.5 years. I have recently shifted to London and am looking for an opportunity to start my career. What course would be necessary for me to start my career as a company secretary trainee
Hi, a really good tip is to look at the uni course you want to study. There are different routes into becoming a company secretary (business, law, etc). When you look at the uni course you want to study, look at a few universities that have this course and interest you. Then visit their websites and it will tell you what grades you need to achieve from school. Tip: remember different universities have different grade requirements so that’s why I suggest you look at a few

Thanks for doing the videos and your sharing! Can I ask you some advice regarding to further career in CS? Background: I’m 23, graduate from hotel management in Australia in 2 years ago. I’m from Hong Kong. I plan to do a master degree in corporate governance and compliance. So once I graduate I can work as company secretary and be the Chartered Secretary in the future. What do you think about it? I’m wondering will I be too green and young for it? Am I employable with the related degree with only half years personal assistant experience? Thanks

Everyone has different perspectives so please seek out more than just my opinion. Changing countries for work in my opinion is like changing sectors or career paths. You’re ultimately viewed as an unknown quantity and if you really want to make the move you have to be prepared to go backwards in your career (more junior roles) to move forward long term. Companies pay recruiters, etc a lot of money, as well as investing time into employees so when it comes to hiring they’re always trying to make the best educated guess they can. If your current experience and companies are unknown entities to companies you’re applying for then cv reading is kind of opposite to the famous saying of “don’t judge a book by its cover”. That’s all they have to make a judgement on. It’s definitely difficult but not impossible you just need to keep persevering and digest some of the things I’ve highlighted as well as getting some additional perspectives to mine and then make yourself a plan of how to move forward. 👊

Can someone from Asia work in the UK? As a CS?
Hello, I’m not aware of any reasons why you couldn’t
@@careerinsights2430 People Online from Asia more specifically from India say that 4 years of experience is useless in the UK.

And is CS better than CA? Based on:
Working conditions,
Work load,
Salary,
University offerings like scholarship.
