    Cy’s interpretation is so much more fitting of the attitude in the lyrics.

      Cy sang with such ease and emotion. I sorely miss his singing and expert composition of songs that are gems of the American Songbook.

    When I heard the Sinatra version, I thought "why couldn't it be less dirge-like?" THIS is the definitive version. Truly, the epitome of cool.

    This is such a beautiful composition that is sung with much depth and creativity. Cy sings this better than any other recording that I have heard. He was a true talent in every sense of the word.

    I found this version on spotify and had it on repeat for the longest. It popped up again in my shuffle, and I decided to see if there was a video of it, and I'm glad there was. This adds so much more depth to this wonderful record ^-^

    @kilian Hey, I can't post links, but someone has written the chords for Fiona Apple's rendition on yahoo answers. If you search 'chords for why try to change me now' you should find it. :-)

    Very effective interpretation by the composer. Of course Frank's version is masterful. Hear it on "Jazz Spotlight On Sinatra"

    • @princeandrey
      @princeandrey 5 років тому +1

      Actually, I prefer this rendition. Jazzier and less mawkish (if I may say so). The light touch is always called for in a jazz/pop tune, paying against the sentiment. Listen to Charlie Parker's "Body and Soul." ua-cam.com/video/prbqc3C6968/v-deo.html&index=31
