While Tom did get caught on 9:54, it finally makes sense why they'd introduced that you can't eat the super soldier guys early on. This makes it so that you don't get trapped in any possession puzzles later on, and not just meaning that you have to think through those fights more tactically. I love little game design things like that.
I got stuck on the exact same bit until I realised the same thing
I'm not sure if it still applies, but during the demo of the game a few months back it was possible to completely eat the soldiers, but took many, many attempts to finally succeed, or perhaps there was so much blood that I could no longer tell where the body was, truth be told, I can't and couldn't tell.

i found that bit so annoying until i realised i had to be in the bottom one not the top
Tom just eating everyone when he’s full health but then leaves survivors when he’s near death dying

I do very much love the aesthetic and sound design of this game, from the Mechs to the Nuclear Reactor, hmm amazing.
Also will say it again, the Mech's music reminds of of Spiderverse :D
Also I had no idea with those 'Corks' but my god, stage 3 with those harpoons, wow XD just wonder how much more terrifying this can get :O I mean it just annihilated the Mechs with one swish swipe, my god, they used to be so hard. Just makes me worry and excite over the next 'Hard' enemy XD

I just finished this game, and it was surprisingly good despite having no obvious storyline.
I'd love to see an animation of this giant fleshy abomination, but one of its many mouthes are synced to Tom's voice, and he apologizes as his other mouth eats them.

this game has more fucking puzzling than killing... its just a very well disguised puzzle game, this is honestly getting ridiculously stupid, with all the traps, boxes, environment, doors, hatches, the varieties of shit that you have to remember, figure out, and fuck with, until you can finally move on to more killing. wtf? lol
It would be good if you did more stuff with Chauncey, like another playthrough of something.
