    Wow, the first one must have sold like absolute hotcakes. The cost involved with making completely unique tooling that can't be reused for ANY puzzle other than the Gradient Cascade is an investment they would never have made if they hadn't known it would be worth it for them. It looks like a blast to solve, too!

    I got this puzzle a couple days before my wedding. It was sooooo hard to not be like “hey everyone I’m just going to skip the rehearsal dinner to puzzle”
    The first thing I did after the wedding was solve this puzzle. It was so much fun. And I kind of enjoyed not having seen Karen do it yet. I really didn’t know what to expect so I think it made it a bit harder. Now I want to go do it again.

      I think she just moves a piece while filming, makes sure her hand is out of frame for a sec. At the end you just grab screen shots from the video footage. So no need to manually take a picture after each movement.

    • @axelschweis4793
      @axelschweis4793 Рік тому +15

      @@soubiagatsuma833 My guess:
      From the whole puzzle was always taken away one piece after the other. And after each removal a photo was taken. So what you can see in the video as stop motion is backwards.
      The part in which the large pieces of the puzzle are opposed was taken as the last. But it is the first to be seen in the video.

    Just wanted you to know I started a puzzle club in my classroom inspired by and in honor of you and your teacher. I have had puzzles in the class before but haven't made a big deal of it. If they finished it or not or if they didn't have time, it didn't matter. But now it matters because it matters to them. They just finished the first small puzzle and they're moving on to a 350 piece puzzle. They are very excited. I told them about you and your channel and if we have a chance I will find a video that you've done and show it in class. I am new to this class and have only been with them a few weeks. This is our way to bond. I believe I have them again next year so I promised we would make puzzles an integral part of the class.

      i feel like this concept of "each piece is art" can be taken to some really extreme level... like, a puzzle where the image itself is composed of artistically created objects, placed together in a deliberate composition that makes sense for a jigsaw diecut. but instead of using just purely abstract 3D art, we have actual famous artworks or artpieces that make sense together in a scene... like a mix n match of elements from famous paintings together?

    I just did this one and it was my first Ravensburger! The puzzle was an absolute blast, definitely will run it back one day. I wasn't overly impressed with the piece fit. I think Buffalo is at least as good as I wasn't able to move sections very easily at all. However, the less glossy finish made the puzzle completing process so much nicer! Very little eye stain or frustration from lighting or color issues. Will definitely be getting more from Ravensburger and from your collection!

    When you put the smaller puzzle on the bigger puzzle I had an idea.
    What if for your next puzzle the image is of the small puzzle centered, or slightly off center over the bigger puzzle.
    Or wait to do this idea for your 5th puzzle, and do a portrait of your first 4 puxxles. Kinda like a look back into the puzzle series.

    Wow. You are a puzzle goddess. The meta puzzle geometry element is amazing. Did you just start a new trend. (Yes, it's not the first but might be the most "popular"...always appreciate Karen's meticulous thoroughness of history and origins...never exploiting credit) It's not only handy for "beginners" who want to just do a little bit, but it will definitely add "speed" to the whole puzzle in general. Currently, just the edges, color, and piece shape differentiation guide the assembly. The meta shape is like creating brand new floating internal edge pieces, and it is actually double-sided. Amazing.

    I loved doing this puzzle! I wanted to wait until after I was finished to watch your video and see your strategy. My goodness, you went about it in a much more interesting way than I did. LOVE LOVE LOVE you saying one can do the puzzle again and again! Will do, Karen! Thanks again! Have loved puzzling since the early days of the pandemic and finding your channel has been super awesome

    I think it would be very cool to actually glue elements of all three puzzles together (the way Karen layered them on the table) to make a 3D wall hanging. Every iteration would be completely unique. It would be something more than just a puzzle on the wall. A unique design element for a colorful room.

    Is it time for me to take the puzzle apart and do it again??????
    I absolutely ADORED doing it. To a point where at first I fell in love with the puzzle and immediately bought it (am in canada) and had it made in 3 days once it arrived. I fully intended to tape it up and use it as decor because it really fit the vibe of my apartment, But I'll be dead before I decide to harm this masterpiece.
    SO, here is my question, Karen: WHERE CAN I GET A POSTER VERSION???????

    • @KarenPuzzles
      @KarenPuzzles  Рік тому +6

      I don't think we'll be releasing a poster, but you could always get a second copy - one to do and one to display 😅

      @@KarenPuzzlesyou have a really great video about how to tape the back of our puzzles. I did it for one that I love, and it's still holding up! I used a bunch of that painters tape.

    Why, why, why did I not watch before I started this puzzle. Once I figured out the big puzzle pieces had their own ‘edges’, I stopped trying to complete the outer edge and started on the big pieces, using the glass cases as a starting point. This was so different and fun!

    Gradient Cascade. This puzzle is so beautiful and such an amazing concept. It was so satisfying to watch you put it together. It will be so hard to know where to start on a puzzle like this. I think I would just start putting pieces together and see where it takes me then try putting it together in different ways like you mentioned. Thank you for making such beautiful puzzles and sharing them with us.

    The die cut of that puzzle is so cool! I think I need to go to my local Barnes and noble and pick up a copy! Thanks for walking us through your design decisions. One reason I love your channel so much is because you go the extra step, whether that is solving a challenging puzzle or one of your “deep dives!” ❤

    Gradients within a gradient! It’s a Gradient Cascade! I think I’ll stop by Barnes and Noble one day this week to pick this up!
    After I complete the puzzle the first time, I’m going to bag the large puzzle pieces in separate bags to have mini puzzles on hand.

    Well done... While I am very partial to both White Mountain and Virginia Christmas Company puzzles, your puzzle here would be one I would buy. I have always enjoyed jigsaw puzzles but had only done less than 5 in last 15 years or so lol, but have done 26 puzzles since January 2021, mostly 500 and 1000 piece but two or three 300 piece puzzles. Most of them are glued and almost all are staple gunned to my living room wall and would love to share photo with you

    So happy to see your success! I'm actively trying to pare down my collection so I have room for more than 100 of the best puzzles my mom left me, and I _still_ had to order this immediately! Ravensburger is high quality, and my only frustration with them is that they only come in ribbon cut, and I prefer random cut. I'm excited about a Ravensburger with a more unusual die cut!

    Gradient Cascade Gosh This takes escape room puzzles to a whole new level I love this puzzle personally I would start with the inside puzzles but as it’s a gradient like the million dollar puzzle I would have to take my time with the colors to actually get it done.

    I have both your Puzzle on Puzzles AND Gradient Cascade. I ordered that one from Canada. I haven't done either one yet. I'm going to have to get a second puzzle piece set of trays for the first one. I don't think the ones I have will handle 3000 pieces. I have to keep the pieces covered because I have cats. They've damaged puzzle pieces before, sadly. I can hardly wait, though! I'm currently working on another Ravensburger puzzle. Soon....

    Following your career is quite exciting. I'm happy for you ... and ME, too! I've learned a lot watching your videos. Personally, I prefer geometric puzzles, modern art puzzles and bright color puzzles. I have macular degeneration and black and other dark colors are difficult to tell apart. I've never tried a gradient puzzle even though they look interesting. They are usually bright colors so maybe I should take a chance. They are so tempting. I'm ordering this puzzle today and am hoping I don't having any trouble with this spectacular creation. You are appreciated by me and so many other people. Keep on keepin' on. We're watching.

    As I said in my previous comment, I got my puzzle as a Christmas gift. I finally started the puzzle yesterday -- on National Puzzle Day! It's tough, but I'm enjoying it. I did the edge/border first. It was easier to find those pieces than I thought it would be. But now I'm sorry I'm not doing the "inside puzzles" first because doing it all as one puzzle is making it harder. But I'll definitely do it again some day. As you say, it can be done in so many different ways, it'll be like doing a whole new puzzle!
