Was about to say only that Axel Rudi Pell has also done a metal version of this song and it's fantastic, which, is true, but I went and listened to it first before hitting post, and to temper expectations, it's far more "ballad with rock stylings" than an actual metal version. That said, if you haven't heard it, I reiterate, it is still definitely phenomenal, and ya'll should check that one out too. k byee.

Many years ago I was at a Leonard Cohen concert. After he sang this song, there was a standing ovation for minutes and almost everyone had tears in their eyes. It was such a goosebump moment.

I'll never forget when I realized your guitars had 7 strings - got me back into playing as it opened a whole new world of possibilities! The constant re-tuning and transposing on 6 string for rock had been too much lol.

So I don't know if it's your thing or if you can find vocalists for it, but I feel obliged to ask. I love and respect your work too damn much and can't help but think of what the end product would look like. How do you feel about trying to tackle a song or 3 from rent? "One Song, Glory" Seems right up your alley. "Out Tonight" is also one I think you could have a LOT of fun with. The song that is my personal favorite though, and the one I think would be the most challenging in basically every aspect is the duet "Another Day".
While the songs themselves are fairly tight in a lot of ways, there is near-infinite room for improvisation because of how the music is laid out. Just about all of the melodies repeat themselves endlessly, letting you input whatever you want between each permutation, pausing the lyrics and picking back up without any real difficulty at all. This would let you transition into and out of your awesome guitar solos without it ever feeling forced.
