  • For this year's Black History Month, we are shining a spotlight on Black-owned businesses in Vancouver and encouraging residents to spend with intention this February, and all year round. The U.E.L. Store on Granville Island is managed by the Black Business Association of BC and features homewares, food, jewelry and clothing from more than 40 Black and African diaspora vendors. UEL stands for unity, excellence and legacy, and Michael Robinson, social enterprise supervisor for the store, speaks about why the store was created and how to support.
