    That is an awesome rock with a lot of character, I do plan to do something like this in the future, lots of dirt, big rock or bogwood with a defined slope and a lot of carpet plants, in the the front and middle, but want large tall plants in the back corners to over shadow. ONE Day. You are a great inspiration and very talented to come up with so many ideas. Love you videos

    Hi George, beautiful setup. I have seen you use the volcanic mineral a couple of times when doing steep banked layouts, but won't it be difficult when rescaping the tank not to get the soil and the mineral mixed up? This would force you to replace all the soil?

  • @youngmango4508
    @youngmango4508 3 роки тому

    I need to know. This specific aquascape but also other scapes I've seen, is the amount of substrate (talking about depth) cause problems? I've been looking into planted tanks and heard too much depth causes stagnant areas without any flow/oxygen present. Anyone have info on whether it's okay for certain circumstances. If this tank is less than a 6month setup then it makes sense but for a "multiple year setup" can you add lots of substrate like this?

    I absolutely destroyed my MC and Tacky Moss. It looked like junk ended up tossing it. Disappointed lol the moss looked good but until I chopped it up wanting to put on Seiryu stone it just looked like a PLUNK of moss. The glue I ordered is safe but turns white if you mess with it the wrong way (or too long) I guess. Sucks for my first try. Ended up restarting and only using my dwarf hair mini which looks really good now. Any advice?

  • @RWAquariumPages
    @RWAquariumPages 5 років тому +1

    Hi George, great video as usual and love the layout. Hope you see my question. I’m curious about the seiryu stone. I’m about to scape my 90p. I’ve seen you use it in many aquascapes but does it affect the water parameters significantly or have any effects on plants, fish or shrimp (thinking more cherry/neo than caridinas) in a long term aquascapes? The prices locally for 20kg of ada manten vs seiryu are quite significant. Or does the soil, wood and large water changes off set the effects?

    • @GeorgeFarmerStudios
      @GeorgeFarmerStudios  5 років тому +1

      It does boost hardness but I find with my large water changes it’s not an issue 👍

  • @jerrygonzales4006
    @jerrygonzales4006 6 років тому +1

    Awesome layout. Using the Scapers soil, do you need to have it cycled for ammonia? I’m getting ready to purchase some Amazonia soil online as there is no one here that sells it locally.
    I have had a reef tank for many many years and watching your videos has inspired me to give a planted tank a go.
    Thank you

    • @GeorgeFarmerStudios
      @GeorgeFarmerStudios  6 років тому

    Hi George, I'm not sure how to measure glass clarity, and here in the States, can we get that aquarium? I know some dealers/shops here in the States offers ADA tanks, and some even say sapphire glass tanks are better. What should we look for here in the States? Thanks!
