'Piri'
Piri is a wind instrument made up of bamboo. It can be divided into two parts, the body, and the mouthpiece. A double reed made of two layers of bamboo creates a unique timbre. Because of the size, you might think it would have a small sound but it has a wide dynamic range, big enough to lead an ensemble. However the amount of air that can go through the reed at a time is small so to create a big firm sound, it takes years of hard training to grow the endurance that can support.
