      Aster, I know this is dumb, but would you please tell me if this makes any sense?
      I have so many questions about pre-Phanes Teyvat.
      Also, we really need them to lore drop some name for the realms of Teyvat, The Abyss, The Dark Sea, Khaenri'ah, Celestia and more. We know there's more to Genshin's universe, but we have no names for the Realms specifically linked directly to Teyvat and its laws. We even had the idea of planets name dropped by the Traveler recently and we still don't have anything to call Genshin's world, unless they throw a curve ball and literally call it Genshin.
      Is Phanes even the real Genshin? It's not like Phanes made Teyvat, just usurpered the world. How long has this history of usurpation been going on? We're the Dragons and Dragon King even the first race of Teyvat or did they settle it?
      I believe the story is going to become one based off a cycle of usurpation and change, with either the Traveler, Sibling, and perhaps Paimon finding themselves in the "Earth All Along" genre, or the Twins and maybe Paimon being revealed as Pure Unfiltered Elemtal Beings, hence, in an ironic and roundabout way, Dainsleif stating Celestia views the unchosen as Dregs would be reversed and spread out with all of Teyvat and its Elements being the dreg of Elemental Purity.
      These Pure Elemental Beings would be ones of Chaos I believe. That would also lend clarity to why the Raiden Shogun (speaking through Ei and hence Electro's current ideal) calls the Traveler "The Furthest Thing From Eternity." It would also explain how Light, the hypothetical Pure Element wielded by the Twins, is Chaos, since Light has often been viewed as a call for change and a figurative form of the pure nature an unstable original source represents.
      The Twins could Represent new ideals or, a new star for Teyvat, as assuming Paimon has some primordial importance, she is their moon, or has become a waning power.
      The repeating narrative of the sun and moon is one Genshin seems to love, along with light and darkness.
      I believe the Twins and their traveling from world to world is more respective of a conceptualized being than a true one, those of that concept being true Primordial Agents of Chaos created to instruct change when and where necessary. I'm assuming a lot, but it may be plausible that the Twins are the representation of two dominant outlooks societies may take on their reality against that of the world. Therefore, the Twins are meant to fulfill the role of bringing end to the constant of sacrificial usurpation by showing the reality of Chaos as more of an inevitably than a curse that must be fought with bloodshed.
      Also, am I the only one who thinks the Traveler helping Nahida cure Apep with the EXACT same Dendro energy in the end cutscene was a LITTLE weird and a LITTLE suspicious!?!?
      The Traveler straight up used the same power to cure Apep. Aether and Lumine are no joke in lore, unlike in gameplay😭

    Actually I think Genshin has always been very deep into symbolism and that symbolism and meaning is more significant than lore itself. In fact the high density of symbolism in Honkai was what confused many players in the recent chapters, a lot of people couldn't understand metaphors and analogies because they are stuck with a sci-fi and shounen audience mindset.
    Even at the lowest level of symbolism in Genshin, we have the elements symbolising the type of dream a person has, people who want freedom gets anemo, people who wants stability gets geo etc.
    And then we get stuff like Sumeru's sages, the old generations in power are literally taking away the dreams of younger generations to maintain their own power, using the internet to control information and oppress the population. Khaenriah and Deshret's greed for power and knowledge causing damage to the environment etc. Aranara representing how children lose their imagination and dreams when they get older, and the entire Aranara "life cycle" is based on the Buddhist cycles of reincarnation. And they are able to successfully reincarnate each time because they are able to detach themselves from desire, they are willing to put down what they have for others and sacrifice themselves and reincarnate.
    Next step up we have Nahida being the Moon and Rukkhadevata the Sun. Rukkhadevata is the sun, the brightest object in the sky, her followers the sages bask in her glory, Kusanali the moon is a mere reflection of the sun, she questions whether she actually has a place in the sky suffering from imposter syndrome, the stars are everyone else in Sumeru, everyone who's outshined by the ones at the top. When the sun is out, the stars will disappear, but the sun is now gone, there is only a moon, the stars finally has a place to shine. Rukkhadevata sacrificed herself to allow the stars of Sumeru to shine, Kusanali is not irrelevant, she will be the reason that Sumeru will start to dream again.
    The symbolism gets even deeper at every single level, even down to every single character's costume design and the flower language of the flower they wear. Such as Raiden's Morning Glory meaning life and death and love in vain, her love for her sister and loss made her realise the fragility of life and made her obsess over the idea of an unchanging eternity. Flower language is an extremely important Hoyoverse aspect that they put into every character's design, there was even a character in Honkai, Fallen Rosemary who straight up talks about flower language in her win screen dialogue.

    As it comes from opening cutscene we are to know that our sibling (one who visited whole Teyvat while Traveller was sleeping) supposedly played a huge role in Cataclysm since Celestia sent as it seems one of highest-ranked Gods (Sustainer) to capture twin. And "Arrogation of mankind ends now" is basically her line towards Abyss sibling, not both of us basically since our Traveller was sleeping during whole story with first journey. Since "forbidden knowledge" is to be adressed as "knowledge from beyond", what if our sibling somehow shared some pretty important knowledge with Khaenriah? As it said when met Traveller in game we should finish our journey to find out truth/meaning of Teyvat, so what if she decided to spread that knowledge with this nation? Or maybe she/he did something else but what also heavily broke some taboos of this world. Although, why would Sustainer let both - Twin and Gold live past cataclysm, if those as it seems played a major roles in everything happening?

      The problem is you're forgetting the fact that traveler was asleep twice. The first time their sibling for some reason didn't wake them up until the cataclysm, but it had to be enough time to grow familiar with khanria and apparently do something to help cause the cataclysm. The first cutscene was BEFORE traveling teyvat with dain, the abyss sibling still had her powers then. It was only after the unknown god sealed our traveler for 500yrs that the abyss sibling began their journey through teyvat, so if they did gain some forbidden knowledge on their journey, it would have been after the cataclysm

If you consider the gnostic inspirations of the game, Traveler is like a foreigner or alien that hijacked thelself into the "Matrix", ready to destroy it.
      One example of that "destruction" is that regardless if the Heavenly principles want to erase someone from history, Traveler will remember them and be able to make people remember them. Also They are the perfect vectors for forbidden knowledge to spread, given they are unaffected by it.

      Celestia is directly challenging the mortals to reach for their dreams and build civilisations that can take down Celestia, to prove that humans have the ability to take care of themselves and go beyond the fake sky to reach realms that are far more powerful and challenging than Celestia.
      Basically "if you can't even beat me, don't think that you can survive outside". Mortals can challenge them anytime, but Celestia will always attack in full force because they are serious about this, and with each civilisations' failure, the following civilisation will learn from it.

    So Aster, my theory is that Khaenri'ah was already dealing with a problem that required Rhinedottir to make Durin (Dragon Sovereign) and Albedo (Primordial Human) due to the nature of the Traveler being able to naturally purify the corruption and the Dragon Sovereign's power to fight against the Second Who Came. I think the Primordial One, the Dragon Sovereign, and the Second Who Came have a rock paper scissor mechanic where the Primordial One is strong against the Dragon Sovereigns and the Dragon Sovereigns are strong against the Second Who Came and the Second Who Came is strong against the Primordial One.
    Since Khaenri'ah lived underground they must have been at odds with the Abyss from the beginning, hence their war-like culture and to deal with the withering, the machines are best suited for fighting against it and the corrupting creatures of the abyss. They probably wanted a Primordial Human like the Traveler and a Dragon Sovereign together to save Khaenri'ah. But the experiment went wrong and punched a bigger rift in Khaenri'ah setting the monsters loose.
    Then came the construction of the Ruin Golems to retrieve the Divine Nails whose properties would seal the rift and suppress the powers of the abyss in their nation but of course all of them failed and the land was overrun by these monsters.

    • @AndrewManook
      @AndrewManook Рік тому +1

      Yep this is the most likely theory, the "forbidden knowledge" was the truth of this world, if the people of Tevyet knew then that would be very problematic for Celestia.
      Also we still don't know who prevailed between the primordial and second who came, they are both descenders.

  • @Ren_rz
    @Ren_rz Рік тому +11

    I agree with the idea that Rhinedotir was not Bound by any sort of contract between Herself and the Eclipse dynasty and i also think that the Dynasty might not be that interested in creation of lifeforms to begin with otherworldly or not.
    Because even tho Rhinedotir is considered one of greatest Alchemist as far as we know only she (atleast for now) is known to use alchemy to create living creatures. Khenriah as far as we currently know is more technology focused seeing most of their creations are mechanical mimics of living organisms.
    If the Dynasty was interested in the creation of living lifeforms like Durin and other creatures, wouldn't there have been more people trying to do the same.
    I can think of two reasons why this could happen
    1. These creatures would be living among them so the Khenriahns would have to provide them with the basic needs which there wasn't much to begin with.
    2. A mechanical creation is much easier to control with a Remo than having to tame a monster.
    As for Rhinedotir's part in Khenriah's destruction I'm not 100% certain that it was her fault, it is possible but it's also possible that she had nothing to do with it.

If he isn't the Balladeer anymore since he rewrite his history and everyone's memory with it, that would make that the Fatui recruited someone else in his place since all the Harbingers occupy a a role from Comedia del arte. If you go back to Mondstadt and listen to the two Fatui near the teleport (or, as I call them 'Daily News'), their dialogue has been updated after Interlude 3 (Wanderer's Story). Basically they say that 'the sixth seat' (AKA the Balladeer) has been vacant since a lot of time and currently it's empty.
      Remember, although people's memory has been rewritten overnight, real events did not. Scaramouche disappeared overnight in reality so nobody had the time to fill his rank; the only plausible explanation it could be given by the rewritten history was that 'oh, the seat has always been empty, who knows why'.
      Now, nothing prevents them to elect a new Harbinger in the near future... but I hardly doubt it will be the case. We still haven't met all the other Harbingers, so the introduction of yet ANOTHER villain to fight is, of course, a possibility... but it's not granted.

Maybe she just couldn't manage to make fully functional organisms, until she decided to use Abyssal power... Maybe then it worked, she even would create a majestic dragon. But these creatures would slowly grow corrupt, deteriorating until they had to be contained for the people's safety.
    At some point, Celestia would destroy Khaenriah for their arrogance and this would release the abyss monsters and thus cause the cataclysm. RD just leaves to perfect her khemia skills, this time not using abyss energy, and creates Albedo.

    Simple. Khaenri'ah is the descendant of the Ancient Kingdom from the original world.
    Teyvat isn't the original world.. It's a copy of it or the ark for the old civilizations.
    The original worlds is the Trinity, the Abyssal Realm, the Light Realm, and the Ancient Ones.
    The Light Realm, and Abyssal Realm have always been equals. Until, she arrived...
    The Primordial One who beat the Sovereigns of the Light Realm leaving the Abyssal Realm with more power than ever before.
    She tipped the scales... The balance of the world was tipped after The One did that... I still don't know why she would do it.
    It's stupid she's a foreign god who doesn't know what would happen if she did that.. Then she witnessed what happened with her 4 shades.
    It was her fault and she tried undoing what's already been done and failed. By creating Teyvat to atone for her sins and separating it from the Original World corrupted by the Night Mother.
    Of course the second throne witnessed all of this... The destruction of the old world, and the creation of another.

Those from the past, or those in current Teyvat's future. Or we could play in a far future from current Teyvat, with perhaps myths and lore about the mysterious twins that changed the world back in ye olde days. 😍

    Khaenriah isn't as innocent as we think, they've dwelled on too much on what they should know and it backfired at them but the citizen maybe? King Irmin may have been arrogant enough to rub Phanes the wrong way. Heavenly Principles isn't as bad as we think she may have resorted to eliminating Khaenriah so that no one could do things that happened 500 years ago. Maybe Alice and others are making way to revert the forbidden knowledge from Teyvat.

      Actually the king of khaneria is called a hero (source : Jean dialogue ) nothing suggests that he was arrogant.
      In the new nymph artifact series it states that after he defeats a “bad guy” of his story or -what they call a “fell dragon”, that he will turn into one in the next hero’s story. And that he will forget the one thing he cared for most: “he will never believe in anything that the sum of human knowledge and experience can’t explain or comprehend” basically meaning he won’t trust anything that humans can’t comprehend aka gods.

    This is what confuses me: forbidden knowledge. So you mean to tell me, that "knowing something corrupts you and turns you into a monster or makes the abyss corrupt you". I don't mean in the "knowing this thing made you do bad things but not knowing it saved you" sense. I mean the way genshin explains it, it's like some sort of energy that affects your mind but it's called "knowledge". Forbidden knowledge is hard to write in my opinion.

      From what I understand, forbidden knowledge seems to be a reference from Adam and Eve eating from the apple from the Tree of Knowledge, and because of they choose to disobey God, they were exiled from paradise.
      With this parallel, is possible Forbidden Knowledge could be something related to temptation, to know something outside the rules. And maybe the reason it corrupts is because in similar way like the Abyss, it rather boost your negative aspects of your personality and traits, in a more specific, turn you into a sinner.

    • @Shindy117
      @Shindy117 Рік тому

      @Maria Paz Gónzalez Lesme yeah again that's hard to write. Cause what is it then? As I said earlier I'm not saying it's a "you know this thing and it changes your perspective but not knowing it wouldnt" but it's confusing cause knowledge seems like a container word that means something else. Cause what sort of knowledge could be considered "forbidden"?

    • @Shindy117
      @Shindy117 Рік тому

      @Ельхан Болат so a knowledge that leads to a way to kill all of civilization? Well okay fair point. But still genshin pens it as something with form and not just "knowing something turns you evil"

      @@Shindy117 You think to much based on our world. First off, forbidden knowledge makes Teyvat itself reject you as long as you are a born citizen of Teyvat. We now know that Forbidden knowledge IS definitely corrupting in nature after Nahida's last story quest.

    Are we sure that Great Sinner always refer to Rhinedottir? During Calibert quest we got to know that Great Sinner is just a title for pure blooded Khaenri'ans.
    And also from her cutscene, does she seem like an evil person? To me she just wanted to create beings to feel like a mother, what if another Great Sinner used her creations to wreck havoc? I think that would make sense as Dain never questioned Albedo for being connected to Rhinedottir but to the art of Khemia itself.

    Ah, Norse mythology, that as well as Greek mythology makes their gods more human (like the Teyvat pantheon) they are mighty, yes, but they are bumbling buffons(especially in norse myth) who are sometimes blinded by pride and get blasted in the face, in other words, they are as human as we are and that kinda was the point, Greeks wanted gods who were relatable and whatnot and Norse wanted Thor to crossdress fake a marriage with an ice giant and for loki to seduce a horse and become the mother of odins horse(yes, thats canon). anyway where was I, oh yes, the tale of the Niblung Ring is real good inspiration, a magic artifact prized by a wealthy and powerful people cathes the eye of a god who is denied of even looking at it who in his wrath curses the ring and that curse creates Fafnir(who was the last dwarf to wear the ring) then a hero is sent on a quest to end the dragon and reclaim the treasure. (this probalby might have implications of the Aether/Lumine plot?) anyway brunhilde(a valkyrie) aids the hero and their offspring is the one who ends the Niblung Ring cycle (the sibling could fill the role of brunhilde but not the whole marriage part, just the guiding or something *shrug*) im pullling at WAY too many straws

    I've seen a few REALLY bad takes on genshin impact lore (from other channels) But some things I've gathered across my journey, seeing some of your videos, rewatching cutscenes and recently watching Zepla's first day video....
    I have a few theroeis of what the underlying "truth" of this world is.
    The story quest where we get stuck in the chasm shows us so many evil/corrupt spirits/souls in the depths of the world. I wonder if the abyss has some sort of eldritch horror or maybe even the primodial one rests in the abyss, possibly corrupted by something, that uses souls of those who die for energy. It might also leech life from those who dont die, like Zhongli mentioning even he is eroded over time.
    I'm also seeing a lot more indication that we might be a shade of the primodial one or some other godlike entity.
    But I just didnt start paying attention enough until Inazuma and even then I lose my patience with some of the really long running vapid dialogue in the game.
