You're like 24 years too late on this one US ravers been bumping ket in dirty warehouses (and at home) for a long ass time. The club and festival shit you see from the USA isn't actual US rave culture it's club shit. Unfortunately real rave culture in the US really peaked from 1997 - 2005 then it started to get popular and mainstream 07 onwards and legit parties got cracked down on and it kinda got ruined by the profitability and exposure. Even bigger US crews throwing massives back in the day like Insomniac/Go was booking gabber and actual dnb and stuff like that on dedicated stages. There are still some crews holding shit down for the underground stateside rave culture but it's sort of extinct except in certain places. But yea... ket... fun.
