    Shawn. Best part of the first trick was convincing the girl and the cameraman to join you in a dimly lit closet. You're the best!

    One rationale explanation here: Shawn can jump from different multiverse at the same time and take their reality in order to meet the required card.

    Shawn, I recently purchased this trick from Palmer Magic, and I have to say, you are one sneaky little bastard. You're a genius, man! What a great trick! I've been practicing the moves nonstop. Looking forward to when I'll be performance ready. This is really a lethal trick, especially because it's impromptu. Shawn, you genius, you, keep up the great work! Saving up money for Tagged!
    P.S. If anyone reading this is thinking about asking me to reveal it, go cough up ten bucks and go to Palmer Magic. Absolutely worth your money. Have some respect for Shawn.

      Alex Hetherington Okay, it’s not knuckle busting or impossible to learn, but it does take time and practice. There’s a rhythm and a movement to it. My word of advice is this: don’t worry about speed. Worry about smoothness. It’ll make sense when you buy it. Great trick, though, and something I still perform

    I have worked with Shawn a few years back on a cruise ship in Norway as his sound engineer and I can tell you these videos are somewhat misleading.
    They portray him as some friendly, nice guy who is quite fast at card manipulation who amazes audiences worldwide, but this is NOT the whole truth.
    In reality, he is THE friendliest, nicest guy who is impossibly fast with cards and dumbfounds audiences with absolutely beautifully executed shock & awe tricks.
    I had already seen him previously on Penn & Teller's "Fool Us" so I knew he was good, but I had NO idea he was such a genius at his craft as he was.
    The highlight of his show was his famous "Shape Of My Heart" routine and it was nothing short of breathtaking.
    So many magicians today try to make fools out of the participants but Shawn involves them and takes them on amazing adventures.
    He's what you would call a true "Gentleman Magician".
    If you ever get the chance to catch one of his shows, grab a ticket or you'll miss out on the magical experience of a lifetime.

    Best ACAAN I've seen other than a true Burglass effect. I've one seen Shin Lim perform that for a stage audience and only a few times out of many ACAAN tricks. And not on his biggest stages. This is why I think the true Burglass effect is a 1/52 chance, planning on a simpler ACAAN but when you get lucky, you do it the impossible way.

    • @ShawnFarquhar
      @ShawnFarquhar  3 роки тому

      Have you seen the true Berglas effect? I heard someone had it on a video online but I have only read descriptions. If you have a link I'd really love to see...thanks.

    • @Sam_on_YouTube
      @Sam_on_YouTube 3 роки тому

      @@ShawnFarquhar I don't have a link, but I know among the MANY ACAANs I've seen Shin Lim perform in Asia, 2 of them were, as far as I could tell, the true Berglas effect. That's what makes me think its luck. He performs ACAANs a lot, but almost never Berglas. I think it was, for a while when he was in Singappre, his 1/52 alternate ending.

    • @Sam_on_YouTube
      @Sam_on_YouTube 3 роки тому

      @@ShawnFarquhar On a quick search, I didn't find Shin Lim's performance of it. I did find Marc David:
      ua-cam.com/video/mdXIVQ-asqU/v-deo.html
      In the first of 2 performances on that video, he does what appears to my non-expert eyes to be a true Berglas effect. But he doesn't say that's what it will be ahead of time. So it could be an alternate ending. In the second performance, he promises not to touch the cards, but it could have been done with 2 audience plants.
      If he could perform that trick reliably, like in the first clip, I doubt his best performance would have been on a talk show.

    • @Sam_on_YouTube
      @Sam_on_YouTube 3 роки тому

      @@ShawnFarquhar Just looked it up. I thought Lim was born near where I live and then got his start in Singapore. Had that backwards. He was born in Vancouver, lived in Singapore from ages 2 to 11, and then moved to Massachusetts where he attended the same high school my kids will be starting in a few years. Pretty sure he is their most famous graduate. But the video I saw where he performed the Berglas Effect was DEFINITELY in Asia (don't know which country) and it was definitely old. He performed in Asia a lot early in his career and did a lot of different ACAAN tricks.

    Shawn, I have been loving and practicing magic for almost ten years since the age of five. The past four years I have been trying to develop an "ACAAN" effect where you can start clean and end clean. Out of all the versions of this amazing trick yours is the best I've seen so far. Your method is simple yet brilliant.
    I would like to say that out of all the magicians of today I consider you to be, not unlike the rest of the world, one of the greatest sleight of hand artists alive. You and people like you are a huge part of why I love magic. You are truly an inspiration to me and other young magicians like me.
    I do have one question for you. How do/did you make the transition from being an amateur magician to a working professional? I am in the stages of building my future career and planning accordingly.
    I would love it if you checked out the video on my channel. I created a trick for my parents' 32'd wedding anniversary. I apologize for the poor camera handling.
    Also, thank you for pricing this effect at only ten dollars. It is more than fare. Other magic websites would try to crank up the prices as much as they could on such a powerful effect, but you care for the art of magic as a whole and not just a way to make money.
    With love and respect,
    Joseph

      Hey, thanks for the tip. I checked the video and it said it was public. It has 18 views so I think it is. I'm not sure why you couldn't see it. I'm putting up a new video of an effect that I created soon and I want to be sure people can see it. Is there a way that I can message only Shawn?

    the principle of this trick confirmed our suggestion. There is a obligatory move which have to be perform almost perfectly in order to have a clean and believable effect, but ...
    You will learn a lot of different stuff in this video which you can utilize in many others routines. Furthermore the first trick in this video can't be performed as Shawn did due to fact which I am not allowed to mention.

    okay so I'm pretty sure I have an idea of how it's done. so he knows the card and the number before he opens the deck. he then spreads through the deck, here he must have some way of locating their card. then he does a move to move their card to their number. if you watch slow mo you can kinda see the move. but wow this must take sooooo much skill
