One more feminine and one more masculine, where their behavior dosen't deviate too far from those set expectations. It's just a mild heads up that this kind of dynamic is much less common in the real world and that these kinds of dynamics get the most views for a reason.

The much advocated flip-flopping is something that younger gay people experiment with as they're finding their feet, but long-established relationships do tend to settle down into roles that fit their personalities. There's a reason that BL series tend to focus on relationships that look like male female relationships, and that's because the Tops and Bottoms stereotype rings true for so any of us. Every couple is different of course, but nearly all of us were socialised to be straight, and we grew up families where the male female relationship was the pattern.
