This is great car. I own a 2007 1.4 tsi manual and a 2011 1.6 tdi dsg7. I would recommend to avoid the 1.4 tsi twincharger due to timing chain stretch (replaced mine at 70.000km/140.000km/180000km/200000km) You should always use the handbrake when parking! Other common problems are rust on the fenders, doorhandles and tailgate. The brake calipers will quite often rust. So this is something that you save alot of money if you learn how to service the calipers/brakes. The rear wheel bearings also seems to break/ this also gives an ABS warning light. The 1.6 tdi has had some problems with fuel injectors (750€/piece new or 300€ used). The DSG7 should have its oil changed.
@@MeineVerrücktenGeschichten for the bgu version the coils and spark cables need to be replaced after 250 000ish km or if they are really old. Oxygen sensor might need to be replaced if you get the check engine light. Other stuff include a water pump and some bearing like the alternator. Last thing the alternator belt tensioner. Mind you these are all wear items the only "unreliable" thing about this engine are the coils. Make sure the engine was regularly maintained and had its oil changes on time. Last thing to check is the timing belt you definitely don't want it to snap.
@@socas_nic wow Dude. I did not expect a reply that quick. Or at all. Thank you very much. The one i want to buy is a Facelift model(2008) with the BGE or BGF engine. Timing belt was done Last year. I am not that worried about the engine itself. They Like to Rust as far as i know. But thank you very much for conforming the reliability of the engine and the quick answer. Much appreciated.
had the 2007 model 2.0 tdi from new 160,000 miles, has been a brilliant car, would buy a new one again.

@@MeineVerrücktenGeschichten well if you put the correct red/pink coloured coolant, they don't rust.
@@socas_nic For Sure.
But i wasn't talking about the engine when i mentioned the Rust. Was talking about the exterior. Didn't specify that. Sorry
Could you do a full review going into more detail m
1.4 tsi auto poor fuel economy 😢
