This video is shot with a GoPro Hero 2 and a Sony XDCAM EX1 camera. It was the day after the storm "Dagmar" hit the shore. This storm caused a lot of damage in the area. The Atlantic Road was built in 1983-1989 and has become a very popular road for tourists visiting the north-west coast of Norway.
Wow! Imagine the guys building this road. Heroes! The engineers for design! The material that has to withstand the effects of the sea! Whoa!!!??? The drivers and sightseers who drive the road and stop!
Absolutely beautiful!
Absolutely SPECTACULAR! I've seen many amazing oceanside roads on both sides of North America (Canada and U.S.) but nothing like this. Thank you so much for sharing this incredible drive with us. Outstanding photography.
This is absolutely amazing. I usually much prefer to see time-lapsed videos of freeways or highways, but the scenery of this video makes a slowed down or unedited version of it much more appealing. Thanks for putting it on UA-cam for all of us to see and share!
I could feel the chill just sitting here.
How refreshing
Beautiful. Those are some beautiful raging seas, and that bridge over the islands is incredible. I am in awe of the beauty of Norway.
Right! I love that there's no silly music or unnecessary captions. The film is self-supporting! Thanks, Heine!
You show off !
.
What lovely scenery.
.
Thanks for posting; thank you for thinking of we all here on the sofa.
.
Cheers.

Beautiful film and beautiful country. I am amazed at the beauty. You have a beautiful country. Don't be angry at all Americans for the rude comments of that jerk. You can be proud of your heritage because it is very noble and you are great people. Thanks for the great videos. I'll enjoy them many times.
INCREDIBLE!!! Worth a trip to Norway just to drive on thsi road!!!
This is on my Bucket List. This is WOW with a hundred exclamation points!
This is amazing.. thanks a ton to whoever took the efforts to shoot this video for us.
Now it's little things like these, that makes life worth it, makes you forget all the wicked things in life and makes you feel you're all new. Thanks for uploading this!
This is absolutely stunning and the waves look completely vicious. very nice footage. :)
Leads one to wonder how often this road is closed to traffic. Spectacular stuff!
Merci
Im so proud to live there ! :D
Love this video. Come to watch it every once in a while.
designers, constructors, engineers and finally, builders - great job and respect!
There is just something about watching the sea, mesmerizing watching the raw power.
Minden elismerésem a tervezôké no meg természetesen a kivitelezôké is. Tényleg fantasztikus alkotás!
Makes me think of where I live here in Ucluelet, BC - coastal storms are as beautiful as they are destructive.
Wouldn't mind the traffic on that road. A nice coldplay song on the radio and the sweet views.
Sometimes, it takes the simplicity of a vehicle camera to show us the beauty of our earth.
Beautiful! :)
Spellbinding! Gorgeous clarity - thanks for sharing.
Wow! That's incredible! What an amazing road and gorgeous drive!
Discovered this on wimp. Thanks much for uploading this, beautiful country!
What an amazing drive by the Norwegian Sea, scary & thrilling at the same time.
Its in Norway, roughly halfway up the country on the north coast. Its called the Atlantic Ocean Road, you can look it up on this name on wikipedia for more information.
Personally, I love the music with videos like this. Builds the drama. Can you imagine driving this road all the time. Probably a super drive in good weather but whoa! in stormy weather I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that road. I am surprised that even knowing the waves were washing over the highway and a great chance of hydro-planing, the driver barely slowed down.
My god one of the most beautifulk things i've seen these days!
Nice capture. congrats
Wow! This is even sportier than driving south on HWY 101 along the southern Oregon coast in 90 mph winter storms...
this is not a simple video..this is a STATE OF ART..!!!
Wow.. Impressive..!! I added to my playlist Incredible Nature.
Thank you so much for sharing this one.
I remember when they finished the road, they called it one of our countries greatest construction achievements. i can't belive i haven't been there before. 6 hour drive from my house, but im think im gonna go there this summer or fall.
Quite interesting video!!
The 'Atlantic Road' seems to be the road thru the roaring sea.
Very exciting:-) Btw. it looks like a roller coaster...great*****
Thank you very much for sharing. Many greetings, Sascha
Had the plessure to go over this bridge recently. It's pretty epic, even while it's not stormy.
It's just amazing! Thanks for sharing :)
Merci et bonnes pensées...
Beautiful views. Wish I could go there.
Absolutely mesmerizing and beautiful! Thanks for posting!! :D
+Heine Schjølberg, Thank you for making and posting this fantastic video!
it's on the road between Kristiansund and Molde ( north west part of Norway in an erea called Møre And Romsdal ) Pretty sweet place, haven't been myself but everyone that i know, who has been there say it's great.
FANTASTIC! Thank you for sharing!!
WOW. That is incredible! Thank you.
I can't imagine what it took to build this road.. OMG.. Viking strength or what..
Wow. It's so scary and so risky, and yet so beautiful at the same time.
Great! Very peaceful to watch -- another wonderful Norwegian storm
Wonderful. Thanks for filming this!
Lovely footage! Tusen takk! Just one correction: This is not the "north-west coast" but rather the southern-to-middle west coast of Norway, between Molde & Kristiansund. I've lived in Lofoten in Nordland. THAT + Finnmark north of it are Norway's northwest coast.
The area in this footage is called Nordvestlandet. I guess it is easy to translate it wrong, but it is just north of Vestland which covers south-western Norway +/-.
Amazing road. Beautiful! I want to go try it, too!
I watched this while listening to what was playing on my radio and it worked perfect - watch this while listening to "Miami Showdown" by Digitalism.... So cool... very brave for driving it as well.
Magnifique...Somptueux, et inquiétant...!!! wonderful Sea's extrems..!!
These bridges, tremendous piece of engineering. :)
I just happened to find the best song to listen to with this: The Quiet Ambient - All Indian Radio
Try it. Feels good, man.
Those clouds make me dream
Great! Nature plus man. Beautiful combo
Beautiful ... greetings from Romania!
Quiero conocer ese magnífico lugar !
Wow. Amazing photography. Which camera have you used for this. It is spectacularly crisp and clear.
Magnifique!Merci pour ce partage!
Those waves gusting across the bridge/roadway was very scary
Well, to give you some facts: Norway is still rising from the sea after the ice sheet that held it down during the last ice age melted. Today, the landmass is rising faster than the sea level. Though the sea might catch up at some time, even with the scariest estimations it would take around 300 years to sink the lowest parts of the road. By then, the structures of society around the coast will probably look different from how it looks now.
Wow, what an incredible place.
Those are some damn good wipers.
Quite a mesmeric scenery!
Wow! This is really beautiful...... very well done video you shared.
Thank you :)
Thank you. That really was perfect.
What a beautiful road
Not sure who's arguing with who? I just enjoy the beautiful film of a beautiful country no matter what language it's in.
One of the planet's great roads
This is a road trip I have put on my bucket list. l'd really like to see this one live.
I've had a dream in a location like this before.
superbe et impressionnant à la fois. Je suis bien assise devant mon écran ... alors ça me va bien ...
I work on an island, the car park there is about 30 meters away from sea water, which the wind is constantly whipping up and over it. Feels bad man.
Hermoso! que pasada de tramo.Saludos.
Wow! Amazing! A great place to see.
this is lovely. thank you for sharing.
The camera is placed outside the car .it looks great - can you show the kit you used for this photography? ohh wait.. it snot set on the outside.. it is on the inside. - great job.
The earlier part is a HD Hero I'm pretty sure, they have a distinct audio signature; kind of clackity. The later parts where the camera gets wet is also likely a HD Hero.
The other parts I've no idea, I'd guess one of the many DSLRs with video functions.
Norway is a beautiful, amazing, a great movie
this is aweaome. thank you so much.
I'd love to drive down this road!
...which we love to use on bridges and tunnels. The sea near this bridge is considered so dangerous that a tunnel for ships is being planned.
That's awesome, I wish I could drive to work everyday on that.
coolest street i've seen so far
Good video this makes me want to travel there.
How does something like this get built? How difficult it must have been!
'Any sufficiently advanced engineering is indistinguishable from magic'
Amazing. Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful :) I'm going to norway this winter :)
Very nice video ...!
Congratulations and thank you.
As an Indian driver, I find your comment hilarious!! :D
Did you also know that there are no speed-limits on almost 99% of Indian Roads- the only regulating factor being Natural Selection?
Now I have another place to visit on my world tour
