Hi Billy, thanks for the great exercise! Do you have a sense for how long it typically takes for adult learners to shift with decent intonation (say within 10 cents tolerance)? I've been playing for 2 years but just can't seem to get that muscle memory down for shifts (being reasonable, only up to 4th position).
@@hickinabiskit This has nothing with being a hater, but you shouldn't add vibrato on exercises meant for clean intonation like shifting. Period. No one cares is the vibrato is nice.
This is what I look for. Targeted exercises. Simplified studies for specific tasks. Thank you.
Great exercise for adventures in shifting. Makes sense as hand position practice. Cant wait to try.
Thank you so much Billy, for sure I will try.
Exactly the exercise i was needing. Thanks alot.
Very helpful and very kind as always. Thank you!
Great exercise, thanks Billy!

Wonderful drill! Always something new!

And presumably on all the strings, not just the A string !
🍻
When I tense up, I stick my tongue out. That releaves tension right away.
I'm not sure why you're doing vibrato during this exercise, the focus should be on clean in-tune shifts, not vibrato...
Haters gonna hate

@@flrn84791 I feel kind of bad. It seems like you could use a hug.
@florianpoujade38 why would you say something so useless? Just don't incorporate vibrato 🤦♂️
@@dtauscher93 Because it gives a bad example, and at no time does he say not to do vibrato.
