I have actually done this both ways, depending on the volume needed. Small volume needed and mixed on a flat surface I do the powder first and slowly add water sometimes even using an eye dropper. Larger volumes in a bowl, adding powder to a preselected amount of water, letting it soak and absorbed till it's ready to mix and use. However, looking at the amount of volume of water in your cups, it did not look like it was filled to the same level as the powder in one cup. Optical illusion?
I think your tutorials are of the clearest and most demystifying of all the tutorials I have watched on this. I hope you wouldnt mind me asking you for some advice. I bought some flexible silicone moulds that I want to cast POP in for thin clay decorative embellishments. I want to know if you have ever Cold glue/white glue with your mixture to make it more sturdy? There are other tutorials that recommend 2 parts POP, 1 part water and half part glue? Would you recommend this? I tried to do it with crack filler but the casting came out too crumbly and my castings all fella part when I tried to unmould them. I think the glue would make it flex a little more so that I can gelt it our of the mould but I am wondering if I should make the ratio 2 parts POP, 1/2 part water and 1/2 part cold glue?
Thanks for the appreciation. I work on polymath and keep exploring different materials. You may check my link and recent artworks. instagram.com/sharmasatyen Further to your query you can use white glue positively as it prevents in cracking and more durable when POP dries. For mixing I suggest go with 3/4 water and 1/2 white glue mixed first. It will bring consistency in the solution and then later mix with POP. Other wise you may end up in half mix and half lumps. Hope it helps..:)
Thanks for the question Candipill Tincan. I was about to ask the same. I need to make some cases for selling, so I need them sturdy enough to be worth buying. Thanks for the answer Satyen. You have captured it well. Just like I needed it. Would the same work for white cement? What would the right ratios be like? Thanks again. This is very helpful. God bless you.

This is a very informative video. I've been looking this directions and those that you've given in the comment section. Your followers have some great insights too. Now, what would be the right consistency/method for decorative vases/pots. Secondly, what are the right ratios using white cement, white glue and water for vases. I would like to make them sturdy for selling. Thanks in advance.
hello thanks for the help what I meant to say was my POP got stiff while mixing using both methods it did not stay liquid and lovely like yours did after 2 minutes it was too stiff to pour that is why I asked did my POP go bad. and I used cold water for both methods thanks again
@@satyensharma960 first of all thank you for this simple informative vdo.... cleared my doubts on where i was going wrong after wasting 5kgs of POP lol. Always, now i know what to look out for when buying POP. This little date of expiry info wasn't mentioned where ever i searched. Glad i came across your page. You have one more subscriber now!
Very nice video. By the way which one to use if I want to make molds. Also, can I make molds using kids toys like peppa pig. What should I do to get peppa pig mold. Please help I want to make it for my daughter and then let her paint it. Please help
Glad you liked it .. I suggest to go with option 2 as it is dense and viscous. Less chances for air to trap. For molds check online easy to use for all purposes. From big structure I assume you talking about Sculpture something..well you need to add reinforcement inside and wrap with some chicken mesh..that will hold the paste to your desired form and shape.
Hi i just bought some pop but as i am mixing it it is going lumpy and setting very quickly so i have barely 2 minutes from adding the pop with water before its setting in my bowl before i can pour it please help
Add cold water and use a table spoon of white vinegar to delay curing time..it also depends on the POP quality if it is old or maybe water is hard or soft by mineral content..use distilled water and clean container to mix.
Hello my POP set up so fast using the water first and water last version I used both and is i did not ever get to use it could my pop have gone bad please help
Hi..it depends on the climate how dry or humid air is..use cold water .. POP is a game of max twenty fifteen minutes..by then it's start drying and taking shape..else try using different composition material available in market ranging 5 - 30 min drying period .. Hope it helps.
Yes, when you see it becomes semi-solid clay type but you have to be a bit fast before it completely dries out. Also, do layer the beads with color or something, else they will abrade. Hope it helps :)... Do check my other videos how to use this paste to create beautiful display chocolate bottles.
But the little cups don't giv us a exact measurement of how much? Like is it 2 measuring cups or ? Does the little cups equal a cup using a measuring cup? Nobody on here really giv the measurements. Why i don't.
Thank you, very useful information. If I want to make a flower impression picture and add cement for strength, what is the ratio between POP cement and water? Thank you.
Honestly I haven't done that before..but I wonder why would you need to add cement..for strength you can add reinforcement say iron bars or chicken mesh but that is subjective what you are crafting and size or shape.
Use white cement for a planter purpose that's more durable. In this case it might be thickness issue which lead to uneven drying. The inner layer dries slow as compared to the outer one which is exposed to the air that dries quickly. If it's completely dry fill the cracks with dry wall compound and latex paint. For other projects to avoid cracks cover it to retain the moisture with a damp cloth let it dry slowly. Also use fevicol in the mixture. Hope it helps.
@@satyensharma960 thank you so much replying. For now I made thin paste of pop and applied on the cracks with paintbrush they are disappeared for now...let's see what happens after complete drying....next time will surely add fevicol to it..

We’re having trouble with our plaster of Paris going mouldy after letting it dry why is this happening please
Plaster is porous. You need to seal it with polyurethane or paint.
my mixture dries up quickly.. any reason why this is happening ? I did make the mistake of stirring it too soon :(
I try to use plaster of pairas.. but it becomes like a stone after 10 to 15 seconds... i am not able to use it.. it dries quickly.. even in 10 seconds
