Finally I've found someone on YT who uses the exact setup I'm going to buy (upgrading from my current gaming laptop with R7940HS & RTX 4070m) :) Also I'll be choosing the AOC Ultra Wide 34 180hz monitor to max out the 4080 Super, not too big of a fan of 4k just yet (cost vs performance cost still to high). My 2080 still runs all these game on the highest settings without RT just fine. The most demanding game ive ever tried to run was Alan Wake 2, that was a real struggle... That was when i realized i needed an upgrade 😂
Damn. I'm upgrading from a 3080. This looks insane. The fact that you're playing these games in 4K with ultra settings and RT and still manage to get 60+ fps in most of them without even using DLSS is wild. I'm already used to DLSS and to 1440p resolution so I'll have no problem using those settings if needed so I'm just always gonna have good fps regardless of the game, even with ultra settings, and I can even consider playing with RT. That was just out of the question with a 3080 on 1440p (which is the minimum resolution I want to play on, I refuze 1080p). This is gonna feel great! I may have a slightly older CPU (5800X3D), but it should do the job fine, especially with DLSS and/or 1440p/no RT. Officially hyped
You should definitely wait. While a 4080 is an upgrade no doubt, the 3080 still holds its own and the 5000 series is supposed to launch this year. Also he wasn’t playing in 4k. It was in 1440p ultra wide.
@@LookItsDev I had to, my 3080 broke and I wasn't going to wait months upon months to get a new one, and getting a temporary replacement to hold me over till the 5080 is not in my budget as by the time the 5080 releases, the replacement card would have drastically lost value, so I would probably lose like another 100+ bucks on that. I already have my 4080 Super installed and it's more than enough for me. Definitely satisfied with its performance. Also, I'm pretty sure a lot of these examples said "4K"

Just bought it, can confirm if you play at maxed settings.. it’s best at 1440p… wondering if I should sell it when the 5080 comes out and just get that, maybe I was wrong to assume it could hit 4k 120fps on max settings?
I've never used ultra settings because it can take up 20% of resources of GPU and you won't be able to tell the difference unless you're taking screen shots and analyzing very closely. High settings is the way to go.

Anyone else having an issue where the quality wont stay at 1440 or 4k in ultrawide? It works on my 16:9 monitor, but if I drag it over to my 21:9 it flips back to 1080p :(

mmh, I keep my 6800 XT and wait for the 5080. The 4080 Super is able to give a good performance in 3440x1440, even with raytracing. But it is very close to 60 fps and I don't know how long this will last. Oh man, I really love ultra wide, but the performance cost for high resolutions is so terrible.
Im using the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360mm for mine and it stays extremely cold. Never checked the temps but i set my fan curves in a way that i cant hear anything until i hit 70° where the fans kick in. and i can tell you, i havent heard them going off once^^ (thats a lie, my cpu gets insanely hot while in a fortnite loading screen, idk what epic did there. but in no other game ever)

i have the same monitor, I always use a 3.5.1 DLSS with 0.77777778 multiplier as the original quality mode which us 0.67 looks blurry. at 960p there is not nearly enough info for dlss to reproduce a native like image.
Maybe a AIO or watercooled. I don't have a 7800x3d but a 5800x3d (gonna upgrade to am5 on ryzen 9000) and mine stays around 65c while gaming at Ultrawide 1600p on a aio.

Try verifiying game files. If that doesn't work, delete all files related to the game, including saves (just back them up somewhere), and then reinstall the game on a different HDD/SSD (if you have it on an HDD, installing on an SSD could spolve the problem). If it then still crashes, and you're not getting any errors from the game or launcher (if you do, look up the error codes), then launch the game, let it crash and mark the time it crashed. Open your Event Viewer and see if there is an error in there somewhere at the time your game crashed. If you have an error on the exact time your game crashed (or slightly before it), then that is probably the culprit. Have you also tried playing other performance-heavy titles? Does it happen there too? Finally, what you could try is stress testing your components. FurMark for your GPU and Cinebench for your CPU. While benchmarking your CPU, make sure to keep track of your temperatures with something like Ryzen master. Your temps should NOT be anywhere near 91°C. Around 80-85 is fine. Any warmer and you may have temperature issues. Good luck!

That is not just the fault of card makers. It is largely the fault of game developers wanting to future proof their games and trick into buying a new card for said game only to find you will need a card two series in advance to run the game and by that time the game is discontinued or just looks bad on newer tech cards.
Ultra wide is cool but 1440x3440 isn't sharp enough for me. 4k ultra wide would seriously make me interested but my 4090 can't drive so many pixels maybe 6090
4080 super makes for a great over powered GTX card but everything else it claims to do just does not work or is not worth any performance hit to frames. RTX should go off and stay off forever. DLSS is horrible way to run a game, it looks fuzzy and reduces quality for nothing.
I have the Alienware 34 inch qd OLED only thing different that I have than you is I have a 13600k Asus 790 motherboard. I'm getting the same FPS as you are. Which is good to know. Now I won't get to 7800 x 3D
oh you might not have FG enabled. But without that I'm still getting like 70 fps with my 4070 ti, this is supposed to be a 4080 super, so at least 90-100 fps, not 70
@@Oleh8519 I was playing hogwarts legacy at 4k on ps 5 and fps was dropping below 30fps on fidelity+ray tracing mode. This device was fighting with Harry Potter and high 4k resolution, on performance mode graphics looks like shit. My 3080 ti run hogwarts with over 100+fps at 3440x1440p with ray tracing and pc graphics whitch is better (for example draw distance). I dont say console is bad but cant be compared to 3080ti or 4080super.

4080s is great for ultrawide gaming with RT. Easier for it to drive without DLSS.

For what I'm seeing 260Hz 21:9 2K monitors are useless if you are planning to play maxed out games.

It's because of the resolution, if this were a 16:9 setup, even in 4K, the frames would be higher

Can't run Jedi survivor the game just crash at start I am running on a 4080 Super ,Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700KF, 32GB DDR5.
