    Was looking for a video on the cam belt this is the first I found, I do not need to look further this is a great video. You explain every stage well no waffling straight to the point, this is how all instruction videos should be, I believe I can now tackle this job with confidence thank you for posting this, top job Paul.

    great video what about the fuel pump pulley does that need timing like on my tdi VW. Quality filming.

      If it's common rail system, it doesn't need timing.

      You can lock the pump off on these with a 3rd drill bit but as above, it's a common rail so you can leave it floating

    Where is the diesel pump of this car located?

  • @piperdoug428

    So what yer saying is when it goes wobbly then stop screwing..... good advice. Just do what I do with belts... cut the old one...cut the new one and duct tape them together and use the old one to lead the new one around and then just duct tape the new one’s ends together and yer done👍

    Hey, thank you, everything went well, engine starts, but I get beeps and stop on dash blinks, so I haven't test driven, but I'm gonna take a look at it tomorrow again, you have any idea what I might have done wrong?

    • @Xpp.
      @Xpp.  4 роки тому

      Thats a difficult one to answer , but it beeps for various reasons , could be just because the door is open or the handbrake is off with the door open ? Just do the obvious- check oil and coolant levels and have a good look around the engine bay to make sure there isn’t anything that you may of knocked ! Good luck 👍

      @@Xpp. Paul P . Mini build thank you :) would a good obd reader be able to give some info? Just took everything apart again, timing is still correct, but the tentchener(not spelled correctly) has gone a little out of center, i will retench and tighten bolt, and see if that fixes it, thank you very much! :) will get back with results

      @@Xpp. thank you, turns out I'm an idiot and forgot to check brake fluid, thank you so much. Also after running the engine in idle for 10 minutes the hole that's supposed to be in the middle has moved, is it supposed to do that, I tighten the bolt to 28nm (lowest I had) specs said 25nm, again thank you so much for this video guide, you are a savior, this has saved my mother what is equal to 440 pounds of mechanic bills.

      @Xpp.  4 роки тому

      Ahh glad it was something simple ! And glad you found the video helpful ! The pointer on the tensioner should remain within the mark but it will move depending on where the engine stops , if you are that worried it has moved the turn the engine by hand and see if it moves back .....
