I'll say this - I've read the entire series front to back. Read all of The Boys (which is way more graphic in the comic). I read stuff like those and Punisher Max and Kick-Ass and on and on. Graphic comic violence doesn't bother me. Seeing THIS animated??? This seriously FUCKED ME UP. I was not prepared to see the horrors of that scene animated. One thing I noticed about Viltrumites is that the more they condition their bones and muscle the more dense their tissue becomes so in a way Mark could literally be *enters title card* I actually like this concept because they actually have to work hard to achieve more power it's not like most Shonen anime or other superhero related media. Like Omni man tells Mark while their flying in the desert you still need to exercise. That concept is great.
This is such a great concept of the usual Superman stuff. They literally combined the whole Super Saiyan training to be stronger with the concept of Superman. Viltrumites could potentially become unkillable if they conditioned themselves next to a black hole for thousands of years.

Although the show has taken a few slight diversions as comic he got the drop on them, show not so much but ended the same, plus it more compact or jumbled around as current episode they are heading to the red planet but comic wise something important happened before that and there's two side stories which are also important happening as well but they haven't touch those yet .

I started reading this comic book when I was maybe 14, 29 now. It immediately became my favorite comic book but then our comic shop went under. 5 years later I started back up on it and got every issue since. It ended in 2017 and to this day I still haven't finished reading it because I refuse to let it end. The first 12 issues, which I'm assuming is what the first seasons will be based around, is the greatest story I've ever read of any medium. I cried after watching this episode because it was everything I've ever wanted and it shouldn't even exist and it does. I can't WAIT to watch you guys react to this show. It's fucking incredible.

That's who Superman really is.

And if you want to get into why they lost, it's because they weren't prepared. Omni-Man was smart enough to have them scouted, set them up, and completely blindside them. If they HAD had time to prepare they very possibly COULD have at least restrained Omni-Man. That's why he blindsided them. I started reading this comic book when I was maybe 14, 29 now. It immediately became my favorite comic book but then our comic shop went under.
5 years later I started back up on it and got every issue since. It ended in 2017 and to this day I still haven't finished reading it because I refuse to let it end.
The first 12 issues, which I'm assuming is what the first seasons will be based around, is the greatest story I've ever read of any medium.
I cried after watching this episode because it was everything I've ever wanted and it shouldn't even exist and it does.
