Casey I've fiddled around with various hitches over the years (love and maybe not so much sometimes - sap) and ended up playing with mechanicals but I gotta say I watched your vid couple of days ago and spent some time playing indoors (winter has struck here) and the Arbsession hitch is a game changer for me. And I've tried em all on and off. So wanted to say thanks to the two Casey's for your work on this thing. On a variety of 11.7's or 11.8's haven't worked out anything with 24' cord but the 28's I have all seem to be as smooth as butter esp on Voyager (it's "soft" - love the hand on this rope) - 3 wraps or 4 sometimes. Looking forward to trying out Arbsession's Caralink V2 and some new HCPulleys. Favs are Ocean 8, Armor-Prus 8, HRC 8, and maybe then RIT and Bee Line in 8 mm 28". Smokin hitch guys. Going to try some E-E 's in 26" when I get the new tethers. Cheers - this has kinda made my week!
Sick! About two years ago I started tying this hitch and called it the Diana. Everyone I showed had never seen it before. Some of my friends climb on it. Glad it's been validated. Cheers yall
I love this system. I feel it's the safest one there is. Compact enough to use it as a double rope system when needed. Nice being able to transfer from double to single line😎
This is freaking sweet! I already switched my lanyard over to this hitch and will be using it for my main climbing systems from now on. For my 30" cords I just add a wrap and it's the dream.
Small world, I remember that tree buzz post! Actually tried it back then and quickly forgot how to tie it😆 I love how the hitch functions! Smooth release and grabs quickly with very little setback. Great for lanyard too, nice and Compact. Thanks man!🤙🏽💪🏽
Thanks for sharing Casey, is that also known as a Catalan hitch? (I've been using it for a while and really like it, found a photo of it on an arb forum...)
There's a treebuzz forum where I asked if anyone knew if this hitch had a name. I started the discussion in March of 2011. I've been using it since 2009-2010. No one could pin point it and stated I should name it. Many came with suggestions. I decided to bring it back up because I've showed many and everyone enjoyed it. There was also a discussion of a similar hitch called the catalan hitch. There was a discussion on Instagram about it and the guy that knew it as a catalan said it is tied different but has a similar outcome. Be also stated he thought it came from Spain? A Google search didn't come up with anything I could find. I just figured bringing it back to light as the Arbsession Hitch might help many as it is such a great hitch! ~Casey
@@lordgnarington so the question is does the Catalan predate 2009-10? I've tried to do a search on that name and couldn't find anything. I figured calling it the Arbsession Hitch would help give this awesome hitch more eyes and traction. That's the most important thing.
Please check out the description for a step-by-step instruction guide on how to tie the Arbsession Hitch. Thanks for watching!

I use a knut with the caralink 3 wraps (armor plus) 24" and it's a great! Best tether for the wrench I have found.

So glad I found this video this is now my favorite hitch to use so much quicker to tie than most other hitches
I use this hitch with a 32 inch and one more wrap and still does wonders

The arbsession tether and hitch set up looks great! Very compact

@@arbsession awesome, thanks for the history, I've always been curious!
I've known this one as the Catalan too- since 2017
Yes, its a catalan, very similar to the michoacan... we might need latin names for knots too, since the same thing has many different names...

Nice setup 👍.
Where did you get the pink hitch climber?
I got it on a limited batch from DMM. They do a run of Pink products (Carabiners, Pulleys, etc) every year in October for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Very tidy! How different I'd it from a michoacan hitch ? Has 2 side eyes instead of one ??
