OH TO GO BACK TO MY YOUTH THEY WERE SO SO GREAT YEARS I LOVED THEM SO, MISS MY DEAR MOM AND MY SO WONDERFUL SISTER ALL LONG GONE WITH MY LOVING WIFE PLEASE LET EM JOIN THEM ; THANK YOU FOR THIS MEMORY.
We used to sing this song many years ago when I was a child and I have always loved it, Keith. Ruth does sing it well and brings out the romantic emotion. Thank you for your comment.
The voice of the 1920's ballads. Love her. The Doris Day biopic(Ten Cents a Dance) doesn't convey the real truth of her life and suffering and her songs rip your heart out
Ruth Etting is enchanting, as is her acting and delivery of this beautiful old song. At that time there was an affectation in the vocalising whereby a little " jump" was placed in certain notes for entertaining effect, which was used by many popular singers, including the great Bing Crosby. However, here we are almost a hundred years later, and we can see this little trick has aged , it is now seen and heard for what it always was, which was a gimmick. What is done cannot be undone in music, which is a shame, as the composer never wrote this gimmick into the music, and it has therefore strayed into the comic, which is an unintended consequence of the "Tin Pan Alley " background boys.
@@brad349miller Jeez, that's too bad. It's a very creative, imaginative, and well written show. Don't dismiss something just because it's new and popular. Let Me Call You Sweetheart was part of pop culture too, at one point, and snobs sniffed at it.
In my bubbline-addled brain, she's singing this to Marcy T_T. And Marcy hums "greensleeves" in her candy form, which is so bittersweet (look up Olivia Newton's version! ) T_T
I just love Ruth ettinig. I can't get enough of her.
beautiful, if only there could be more music like this to fill the last little time we have in life..
I agree.

Beautiful woman with a beautiful voice

The Doris Day biopic is Love Me or Leave Me, not Ten Cents a Dance.

I have always loved this song. I first heard it in The Little Rascals.
This song is always a lovely one
I love the fact that Adventure Time introduces us to all sorts of beatiful songs
Quembl I mourn the fact stupid things like adventure time flourish in pop culture 😫
I was first introduced to this song through Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story.

Raise your emoji hand if Adventure time brought you here. ✋🏽
0:41 I wonder if that part was intended to be a joke, cuz there in black and white
what. that's part of the song bro
The song was 20 years old by the time this movie was made, so, no.
She's not pretty at all.
