Funnily enough, if your not connected to the internet, you can’t earn the Blue in game currency used to buy superstars. Which means, if you buy this game used, years down the line, after the servers shut down, you can’t play as ANYBODY.
This is no All Stars of course, but it’s a step in the right direction for something truly fun. I’ve had a lot of fun with this since last week. Those micro transactions tho...
All they had to do was remake Smackdown 2: Know Your Role with an updated roster. I would buy the collectors edition of that shit. Let's hope we get an AKI style AEW game.

Why would you lock most of the wrestlers behind coins that you have to grind for or pay with real world money? At least Smash Ultimate gave you different ways to unlock characters.
Gawd, unlocking stuff in games from certain companies just jump right to "does that include using real money" and if not, they knee jerk on the prospect of unlocking stuff for free and spite the player by moving the goal posts of progression.

The really sad part is this game was almost fun to play. I bought it and played it for a couple days before i just got the sudden sense of dread that the game wasn't getting any better and every wrestler plays almost exactly the same.
I like how they have the balls to let you play to unlock characters but then they also have the balls to include microtransactions to unlock the characters that's just sad honestly and I game honestly looked terrible I'm glad I didn't purchase it. Thanks for the review Matt.
