Man! Gah that was gut wrenching. While it's true the 4 of them should have noticed and dealt with this technicality before resting, the defense wasn't even remotely thinking about the date, his objection was a blanket "aquit because a lack of evidence" Prior had missed it too and was only jumping on it because the judge brought it up, it wouldn't have effected how he was going to proceed with his "case" one bit.
@@doribellanIt seems we are listening to a different trial. 🤨 It was a clerical error and they were only now made aware of it. This trial and it’s complexity are unreal. The prosecution has provided a mountain-load of compelling evidence! It was a mistake, and they argued their case to have it resolved. I think this team is outstanding!
A heart stopping pause today but let’s be grateful that Judge Boyce caught this. It was appropriately & fairly argued, so grounds for appeal on this issue should be minimised. Shocking that nobody on prosecution team caught this though - however it should not take away from the incredible job they have done in presenting their case.
There are so many relevant dates in this case… it seems wild they missed it but also… such an easy mistake at the same time. They have so much on their plates. Grateful they recovered quickly.

I know that Prior is doing his damn job to vigorously advocate for his client. That said OMG I cannot stand that man and am disgusted to hear him try to get a capital murder charge dismissed because of a frickin TYPO!
Dirty tricks are his forte, like the random lawyer trying to stop the court from happening. It was short circuited by Judge Boyce, in that, he delayed dealing with the guy until after the court was already happening.
People used to trash talk him, until the sentencing hearing for Lori Vallow. He has proven himself over and over in both of these trials. I really think he's been dotting his i's and crossing his t's and making sure everything is done correctly. He's a great judge.

Deputy DA- I. Batey did an awesome job gathering and citing case law to keep indictment #4. That was stressful and I’m thrilled it went the way it did. I think Judge Boyce is smart to cover all bases so an appeal or mistrial can’t be sought for any reason. For sentencing that count may not add anything or take away but it is importsnt for JJ’s family to see justice served.
It was stressful!! It's 7 hours later on the UK & my partner, who hasn't been following the case, stayed up to keep me company despite an early start today.

I had HIGH ANXIETY!!! Tried to believe in the system… but after Lori got away from death… I thought Chad may be cut loose! It was riveting … but Judge made the ruling by the law… I trust Justice prevails. ⚖️⛓⚖️‼️⛓⚖️⛓

What a roller coaster. I really hope that doesn't come back on an appeal. I do think Judge Boyce made the correct ruling as the indictment should have never been changed as count 4 wasn't part of what allowed to be changed by the court.

Yup you’re so right!! Another reason for Prior to submit an appeal after the guilty verdict on count 4 indictment for JJ!!
