    these testimonies from his teammates about MJ tells how competitive and relentless he was as a player and how high his caliber compared to the rest of the league, I've heard stories about him during practice saying how intense it was that most of his teammates felt it was game 7 finals, this is how Jordan build his team not recruiting some talented players or joining superteam, he just simply build his own just by turning them into championship contenders and also the confidence they felt around him makes him not just the best player of the team but the greatest in his Era 6-0 with 2-3 peats made him the Goat!

      Maybe but the reality is he didn’t win with just anyone. I am not saying what I say because I like Lebron because I don’t. Scottie Pippen is vastly underrated by almost everyone not named Micheal Jordan.

      @@globaloutdoorinnovations7511 Scottie wouldn't be what he is if Michael didn't constantly pester him to practice so much. Jordan likely won't win as many rings if he didn't have Pippen but I know for sure if Pippen didn't land on the Bulls Jordan would have turned someone else into "Pippen".

    I love MJ as a player, watching those Bulls was what made me fall in love with basketball, but he seems like he was an asshole. You don’t have to be an asshole to win, Magic won without that, Bird, lots of players did. I think it’s unnecessary.

    • @hud1231

      Magic nor Bird won as many as MJ being the #1 player with less stars on his team. so it might have been very necessary...it worked

    • @CabralCreates
      @CabralCreates 3 місяці тому +6

      Terrible comparison. Bird and Magic had stacked teams, Magic came in with Hakeem and great players in the roadster. Mj came into a team that wasn't ready to win. If you really think it's that easy to win in those circumstances you're wrong. Also Bird got 3 rings yes he won but Mj got 6 it's not even comparable. People forget these guys get pay to win championships, he being and a hole because he wants to win is nothing bad at all. If I was there and he was mean to me because I wasn't taking practice seriously I would have to take accountability and do what I'm supposed to do, not go and complain because he forced me to do my job as best as I could.

    • @joncoish
      @joncoish 3 місяці тому

      @@CabralCreates I don't think it's a terrible comparison at all, I think it's valid. I also think positive reinforcement is always better then negative. Look you can't argue with the results and I think MJ is the goat but I do think he was an asshole. What he did worked, but I still think it's always better to build people up and make them want to run through walls for you, rather then making them want to perform because they're afraid of you.
      Anyone who makes the NBA, no matter what skill level they are, they probably have a thick skin and have dealt with adversity and naysayers all through their lives, so they can deal with someone like MJ and not crumble under the pressure. Many will but I'd say most in the NBA would handle it, but I just wonder if they would've been better had he approached his leadership in a different way. But we'll never know, just my opinion.

    • @joncoish
      @joncoish 3 місяці тому

      I guess what I'm saying is that I think MJ and the bulls won what they did more so because of MJ being the best player ever and coming into his own in all facets in the early 90s, Scottie coming into his own as the best sidekick, and Phil Jackson providing a philosophy to bring it all together. These factors more so then MJs leadership. I think they would've won those championships no matter what other players were on the team.

      In the most successful organisations in history, whether it be business, sports, or even the military, there were always two types of leaders in charge: the tough, demanding disciplinarian (the "daddy") and the supportive, encouraging nurturer (the "mommy"). Or if you prefer - bad cop and good cop. This combo made for winning teams. In Magic's Lakers, Magic was the good cop and Pat Riley was the bad cop. Just listen to James Worthy, Lamar Odom, and Dwayne Wade describe how tough it was to play under Riley. In Bird's Celtics, it was Red Auerbach who was the tough daddy although Bird can also be an "asshole" to a teammate who wasn't playing to his standard - like he was towards Pete Maravich. In Jordan's Bulls, MJ was obviously the daddy/bad cop and Phil Jackson was the mommy/good cop. You'll see this pairing work in business as well (ex: Buffett and Munger).

    When people say he was an asshole, I only think: how much is it your weak mentality vs how much this beast wants to win...
    He elevated his team by force maybe, but made all of this mediocre to medium players into 3x winners and some other to 6x. I don't give a F how you treat me, (i'm a musician so im used to the shit people in sports have to take) if you lead me to win 6 championships I have nothing but respect and admiration for you... NOBODY did what he did and yes he was an asshole but that's what todays society don't get, life hits you hard AF and you only have 2 options adapt and grow or die.... easy AF
    and btw when I say medium players I mean Scottie and Rodman yes they are HoF but without MJ they are just one more dot in the annals of basketball. Pippen was a shit player his first 3 years MJ made pippen and he made the bulls. No MJ no bulls dynasty
