I'm with you guys...52yrs old and totally enjoy the experience of locking myself in my room with a new album and getting completely lost reading and listening...aghh the kids today just don't understand the importance of not having a cell phone.. right? God bless the 80's!!! Magical time
I'm on the frontline , I'm a 48 state truck driver and I miss going to concerts already, big fan of godsmack from the first album to now , I love your voice and tone of your voice sully, much love
God I love this man!! So fucking down to earth! Funny, sexy, can sing his ass off, and I love the way he thinks! Very philosophical and finds the purpose in everything he does! Godsmack's music literally moves my soul! Keep this going for many years to come! Thanks for sharing your time and thoughts during this crazy time we're all going through Sully! 🤘
Yeah, I remember The Raspberries!! I guess I'm "old". I grew up listening to such a wide variety of music...classical, country/western, easy listening, disco, classic rock, etc. Growing up the youngest of 7, the variety of music was insane. But when I heard The Doors "Hello, I Love You" at not even 4 yrs old...I was hooked!! I rocked out in my eldest brother's car...IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! But learning to listen to all types of music was a huge blessing!! I can hear influences. I can see the art that goes into creating this beautiful thing called music. I think the best crossover rendition of an amazing rock song done by a country singer....Johnny Cash doing "Hurt" by NIN!!! Floored me!! I love both versions. But if my dad, a diehard country fan, would've heard it...I think he would've hated it. Sorry, Johnny. Music is amazing. I love how it touches my soul & speaks volumes in each cord & chorus. Chills!!!!
Hey Sully. If you're checking on comments just wanted to say I'm glad I stumbled on the interview with Nuno. Since then I have gone back to catchup. Love the job you're doing and how you're doing it. I've been a fan since before the first album was released and I was given a singles cassette for whatever that a universal rep who was at a battle of the band's my band was playing in gave me a copy. There was a feeling of linearity as we had been trying for the same while, while you guys were. Anyway, glad I'm watching. As far as the Grammys go, and being someone rooted in the 70's and 80's rock, etc , validation has never been a priority for the great band's. Eventually, the mainstream has to cave in and accept the great band's for just being great. Even if they usually will ignore them and not provide award for a job well done. The blind ignorance is acknowledgement enough. Rock on, brother.
I love the shows. So many out seem to be more about giving some rock star a reach around and massaging their egos. This show really has that feel when you use to hang out with friends all day listen to and talk about music all day. I hope you keep this going. I love the Kiss talk.. everyone has their story .. for me I was brutalized from 2yrs old to 16. Tossed from home to home then foster care but music... freakin music.. saved me.. got my 1st kiss record at age 6. After being severely abused I would lay on the floor with a speaker on each side and just get lost in the Kiss jams .. seriously music saved my life. I love the feel of your show keep being you .. love to everyone in the community.. your guest.. the folks behind the scenes and to you Sully .. love ya
Great listening to your show during these times...very entertaining and the guests are great, talking about the old records brought back great memories... Can’t believe Peace Sells wasn’t one of the first songs with a bass intro that Eddie thought of !
Great interview! You really dug deep Sully! Eddie is always a joy to listen to. I too worked in a record store, managed it actually. Remember recording LP’s to cassettes? Even recording to CD’s always , artist, title of album, year it came out and the record label. Guess working in a record store we had to know labels so it sticks with us. This interview was my favorite so far. Keep up the great job Sully!
Agreed!!! I loved that whole cd!! Had the t-shirts. Lost them all in the Camp Fire (Nov. 8, 2018, Paradise CA)...totally sucks!! It was so kick ass!!! I just sobbed when Dimebag was killed. Soooooo wrong!!! SMDH
I’ve tried every way I can think of to tell this man thank you for serenity. Saved my life. Still does..... someone. Please tell him thank you for me. Also for the book by Neil Peart Ghost Rider. I’m forever grateful. But it’s a day to day struggle. The death of your child is like no other pain....🐢🎶🤘🏼❤️ 11-4-14
Cher Sully, n'oublis pas qu'en France, en Picardie, dans un tout petit village, une personne apprécie, aime, écoutes tes performances. Merci Merci du fond du coeur
I am an old Roady and I loved when hard rock bands came in because they had less set up (usually say 5 semi trucks) as opposed to Prince's 13 trucks and of course we had to hide when Prince was out to step on the stage. I remember for my Birthday I got to climb the light rig and run primary spot light for David Lee Roth. It was an amazing way to see a show! The LD would warn us Pyro coming up (in other words -hold on!). Of course no one has to climb up into the light rigging anymore to do light shows.
Grammys & Oscars are all bullshit!!! It's all politics & self-adoration...to hell with what the public is interested in. I have no use for these "participation trophies"...GAG!!! I ain't missing nothin' by not watching. Sterilized to the point of being Same Shit, Different Day!!! pathetic
my era was the cd area lol I still buy the cd of the bands example when whatever came out when I was in middle school I had to have it so then you had to find the band so I would listen to the radio to until whatever came on now I have everyone you made along White Zombie to Rob going solo I loved reading the little book cover and picture's
Enjoyed, 2 of my favorite people, Fun going down memory lane, In all the time of mankind I could have lived in God blessed me with the best times for the best music! I was 3 years old at Woodstock! It's been a Great Ride so far! GODSMACK is carrying the Torch! I love Gene Simmons but he needs to Hush, Bring the Heat Baby! Rocks Not Dead or just needs the Right Spark!
trunk talks sbout the smell opening a album...as do I, but I loved the smell of casettes....geffen and Electra had a distinct sweet smell, just the clear tapes...CBS/columbia...no smell....great memories
I also have have a twin flame im in usa my wife is in UK. I feel that. But um sully only writes about him 😉 unless he can feel that situation or feeling.
