I like that this was real. She showed that it takes time to grow out the damage nail and what to do while the new nail growth comes in. Thanks for the realistic video.
To all of the people complaining and saying that all of these things aren't necessary, you're probably correct because she DID say "another treatment that you COULD do"!!! She's giving various alternatives.
OMG i finally found it! I saw this video a year ago and you changed my life but i never got to thank you. I was always a nail biter until i saw your video. I found some old nail oil I got given once, to use before i bought some more. My nails haven't looked better ! Thank you so much for this amazing video. I am more calm and confident with long strong nails and my family take me even more seriously when I say I am good at nail art !
Thank you so much! I learned a lot about my natural nails. I have used garlic oil for so many things too, like ear infections. I never thought about using it for my nails. What a fabulous tip!
Jojoba oil is the best oil to use for your nails because it is the only one that can penetrate the nail plate. It is the most similar to your body's natural oils

After years of wearing acrylics, I developed an intolerance. My cuticles were on fire and peeling. I did silk for a long time after that and again had problems. Now I keep them natural and take 2000mcg of biotin every day. My nails are pretty strong with very occasional tears. Your video is very helpful.
yes that can also happen. Which is why I wrote in the video that some people have sensitivity to the chemicals in the acrylics/gels. Biotin does help. I wish I could take it but it made me break out every time I took even the lowest dose. And thanks for watching glad my video helped.
Thank you for this. I've worn acrylic nails for 40 years,,every since they first came out when you built your own,,not tips.. I took them off 5 weeks ago,, and what a challenge I've got ahead of me....this has helped in many ways....thanks agin
I had no idea the damage gel nails would do to my nails it’s so bad and my nails are very frail now .i have to keep them very short, can’t wait for the damaged nail to grow out , thankyou for your video very informative
4 months, wow.. they do look so much nicer. I've noticed that the gel manicure also damages the nails...been doing the VitE/ Olive oils and nail lotion for mine. Helpful...no more fakes
I have to do this !! My nails have not breathed for a long time . thanks for the advice . I will definitely follow them when I decided to take of the gel
At least you know what to expect once you take the gel off. Nails need a break every now and than. I feel so relieved that I don't have acrylics or gels on anymore.
In order to get rid of nail fungus soak in Apple cider vinegar and water once a day and tea tree oil in the water helps I got rid of my husband's toe fungus in 3 weeks this way
You have a pretty natural nail to start with, such a luvly shape and light pink nail bed ,so pretty it makes me wonder why you would wear acrylics, but that's just my opinion,no offence meant and none taken I hope. Have luvd this tutorial v much as its real and down to earth, you have spoken clear and precise so its been easy to follow. I used to have v strong ,long nails many, many years ago and everyone used to say" look at your nails, fabulous" but no anymore since I got an autoimmune thyroid illness, 20 years ago and still got it for life,my nails are dreadful, never wore acrylics or gel either, they are weak, split down the nail, jagged etc ,so I shall try your advice etc and see if they improve. Thanks.
I do my own acrylic nails. But, I'm happier with lifting acrylic nails than I am with weak real nails, so I keep any filing or other damage to a minimum, I mean usually zero. And, I go long amounts of time between sets. Thankfully I learned to do my own, because NO ONE will do my nails in the way I like. Because they've learned the way everyone learns, file, file, file, oh and file some more. Also, many of the topical things you use (garlic and oils for example), I like to take internally on a very regular basis. This also keeps your nails healthy. People think I'm nuts or a hippy, but I just like being healthy. Lol. I use to have terrible, terrible nails. I actually like my nails, now.
Sweet Angel14 Smart. There is no such thing as a mineral or vitamin that soaks in through the skin, hair or nails, so actually eating these things is the only way to get them to the nail. Good job :) One thing though, having lifting on your acrylics can be very dangerous. It will invite bacteria in when moisture gets trapped under those edges and provides a good environment for them to grow. I'd recommend making sure you at least have all the cuticle off the nail and have used dehydrator & primer before applying the acrylic, if you're trying to stay away from filing.
I have recently started using garlic and olive oil every night it can get a bit smelly but luckily I have found a handy hack for the smell I wash my hands with mouth wash and the smell is gone :)
Thank you for posting this very informative video. I'm a newbie to Gel and the information you provided I found to be very invaluable and you answered A LOT of the questions I had concerning the care of the natural nail inbetween treatments. YOU ROCK!
Fantastic video Anna!! I'm going thru the same process too.... patience, keeping the nails filed short, and constantly massaging oil onto the nails and cuticles is the key! ♥♥♥
Wonderful video. I recently removed my acrylics. This video will help me to strength my natural nails to their former glory. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
I used to bite my nails and finally stopped! My nails grew out and I got them to the perfect length. I found that it helped I I put a tiny bit of acetone on them and I wouldn't go near them😊 right now all I'm trying to do is get them a bit whiter 🙏 thank you for making this video I just made a cuticle oil... Although I've never used acrylic or gel or anything 😄 love your videos! ❤️🙌
Thank you very much! I have been using acrylics for a very long time, I now have blisters underneath my fingernails. So I have stopped the acrylics, and letting my naturals nails grow out.
Great video! I have always known that garlic makes them grow and makes them strong, the only downfall is that it turns your nails yellow! Idk why, but I continue to put some in clear nail polish also.
your acrylic removal was way better than the way I tried. Nobody use dental floss like other UA-camrs recommend. :( I tore several nails and it was really painful.
Great video Anna! I love, love, love when you do videos like this! I do some of these treatments. They do work! I need to give the garlic one a try! I decided to do the same thing with my nails and keep them bare most of the time. It's very hard for me to do. They have been covered with polish for nearly 3 years! lol Thanks for sharing & I can't wait to see your updates! =)
Thank you Dawn. It's definitely easier taking care of natural nails in so many ways than dealing with refills and lifting and all the other issues associated with nail extentions;) Keep watching for my updates
11:00 I sort of did the same thing with my vitamin E oil and some garlic so I could use it as often as I'd like to! Funny to see someone else thought of doing the same thing as well!
got my nails looking good again. used the sally Hansen cuticle oil daily. now I am using the gel polish and top coat.day 2 still looks good. good deal. its a keeper.
Amazing video thanks my nails are very weak not because of gels but because of my nail biting habit I will start this journey soon thanks once again :)
Hello, are you romanian? In case you are: Multumesc mult pentru videoclip. And in case you aren't I wanted to thank you for uploading this helpful video and wish you goodluck with the future ones! kisses.
Diana Ghera mersi frumos.. . Its all about using the right products on natural nails to keep them healthy . For me I found that using base coats sau chiar lac transparent as base coat before the application of polish helps tremendously. And exposing your nails to as little nail polish remover as possible.. that also helps. But the most fundamental step is to keep them moisturized as often as possible.
I used to be a nail bitter ! Now stopped into 3 weeks of longer nails .. :) yay! I notice the more water I drink the longer my nails grow over night.. I don't have oils at the moment so moisturising my hands with body lotion x going to buy jojoba oil :) I'm so excited haha can't stop watching nail videos ;p
oh wow my nails were really messed up after press ons! yes i didnt remove them right and they took layers of my nails off it was my own fault but my nails are better now they were sore and very thin i used nail hardeners and cuticle oil and layed off nail polish for awhile my nails are better now thank you for your tips
Thanks for your honest video. I too have found my nails have become so paper thin and damaged after only having acrylics for 6 months. Have now had them removed and living with the "ugly look" until they grow more and then will use nail hardener. Tea tree oil is good, thank you.
Hi My name is Wanda, I have to thank you, because I though that I was the only person who had that situation after getting off acrylic nails, and didn't know what to do to help them grow fast and healthy. I did know about garlic, but wrongly with polish. I will change that to oil. I did saw one video that they mix oil, lemon and garlic. So thanks again.
Thank you so much for this to Torio I had damaged my nailbeds by e-filing them too much it’s the first time in five months that I have done something like that so these tips that you have just given me a wonderful in fact I paused your video ran over to the store got Teatree oil vitamin E and garlic so thank you
I got acrylics and I cut my nails really short and didn't even know if my nails would grow again or be healthy. But thanks to this video my nails are healthy and strong. Thank you😄
Hi Anna, love your channel! Wondering if you have any advice for me..why do the tips of my nails turn clear when exposed to water and is there anything other than wearing gloves that I can do about it?
Thanks for this video can't wait for the update. I too am trying to grow my nails and get them heathy, though after years of biting and not from acrylics. Do you know if there are any different tips for people who used to bite their nails? I will probably try some of the things in your video. My nails have already come a long way I haven't bitten them in almost a month. Good luck on growing to us both. ;)
the best tip I can give you is to keep them polished and moisturized with cuticle oil . Once your nails get longer the temptation to bite them will be less and will stop all together. I used to be a nail biter but once my nails grew that stopped all together. I will be showing you the update videos and what I use soon so keep watching and maybe the tips in the next update video will help you too/.
Just a question, why is the ring finger on the hand on the right messed up? (I think it's the left hand from your view.) please answer I am curious. Great vid!
My ring finger got crushed in the hinge of a big metal door when I was a child. Although the damage to the surrounding skin is permanent and it also lifted half of the nail from the nail bed. I do still have a nail that grows very strong thankfully. There is nerve damage but I've learned to live with it ;) Now you know
I got fake nails in June for the first time and when i took them off it made me sad because of the damage it did to my natural nails and i used to moisturize my cuticle after and now my nails are healthy and strong again
I am going to give your method a whirl. I was on Nexgen for over a year - I loved it! I dipped my natural nail, my nails grew like crazy but when the powder had to be taken off and reapplied, the underlying nail was weak and brittle. It was really just that coat of powder with the Vitamin E infused binder that made my nails grow like mad. Now I am with little nubs of nails because they are splitting and shedding and growing upwards (I’ve already had blood work - no underlying medical condition - I know that upwards growing nails can be indicative of an iron deficiency). I’ve tried NailTek since then, more recently I started a Biotin nail strengthener. I’m going crazy here! I absolutely hate this.
You do however have to be careful when your nails are really dry and damaged, as to not overdo it with water and oils as it can cause lifting of the nail bed. You can also use a keratin-rich, penetrating strengthener during this process, make sure to use one that keeps flexibility and moisture retention xXx
I'm just trying to grow my natural nails without peeling too much. This is why I'm in favour in having natural nails only. I never did any artifical enhancement and still have problem.... About tea tree, I treated a fungus in my Toe with tea tree, I absolutely love it... better than putting chemicals to treat it.
I'm going to try this! Did 3 months of gel nails and I was so happy with the length of my nails - they always break and split and god knows what else. But because of cosplay I had to remove it, so I decided to remove it entirely for a while. The idea was actually to go back to it after the whole cosplay thing but I seriously had a horrible experience. Like, one of my nails cut.. in the meaty part of the nail, you know? Well, it hurt. They broke a lot, have a lot of those air pockets under the nails... the nails look pretty ugly. I was actually putting some nail polish and hardener because I thought it would be better (my mom did the same and it kinda worked) but I guess I was wrong so I will try using olive oil on my nails everyday and garlic at least once a week. And I am never putting gel on my nails again. Ever. Thank you!
Juicy Tommy i used to bite my nails and I stopped by thinking about the after result of my nails if I bite them if u go back to bitting use the method I used because it rly works
If this makes you stop biting them , i used to bite my nails and my front teeth became very fragile and started chipping and wearing down. Now i havr very sensitive teeth and i cant even bite my cuticles because it feels like ill brake my teeth lol. ):
Can you actually get rid of the parts of the nail that have lifted from the nail bed? My nails used to nice but since I started using acrylic nails, my mail bed isn't as long as it used to be and my nails look shorter than normal. They have been like this for about two years now. Any help would be appreciated. Awsome video and very informative. Thanks. Xxx
Hello thr,I was hoping you can ansr a cup questions for me,so I think I'm allergic to glu, acrylics & gel nails, but to make a story short I'm pretty sure iv narrowed it down to the alcohol or acetone, now any suggestions what to use to wipe the tacky layer or to dehydrate them? If u can know I really like it if u share with me. Thanx Bekka
Thank you so much for this video. I just took off my gels a day ago and didn't have them for very long (3 months to be exact), but because of constant re-applying gels (every two-three weeks) when unnecessary and ripping/peeling the gels off (done at the nail salon), it has left my nails pretty weak and fragile. The first time I ever got my nails soaked off was yesterday at the salon. That was the first time I went to a salon and they took the time to soak them off rather than pry them off the nail. I was unaware of gels and the wrong and right way to do it. I basically did everything that was wrong lol. And now my nails are damaged because of it. Luckily I stopped now before it got any worse. My question for you is, where did you get the cuticle oil you are using in your video? It says it's scented and I would really love to moisturize my nails daily with that type of moisturizer. Also, will daily moisturizing and time bring my nails back to it's original strength? (my nails grew very long and were strong...I really didn't need acrylic/gel nails to begin with). Thank you so much for your time and help :)

Thank you so much! I learned a lot about my natural nails. I have used garlic oil for so many things too, like ear infections. I never thought about using it for my nails. What a fabulous tip!
I could smell the garlic through the video when you were applying it lol. Thank you for all the tips
BlueiedShorty : Me too, LOL
Jojoba oil is the best oil to use for your nails because it is the only one that can penetrate the nail plate. It is the most similar to your body's natural oils
Thanks for sharing this. Jojoba oil is great for your skin and hair also.
Better then Vitamin E?
This looks nicer than my one time acrylics. The girl that removed them took more than 50% of my nails off. It hurt to just touch my nail.
What a nice surprise to see that the writting on the orange essential oil is in Romanian!I am Romanian and I felt really proud when I saw that you were using that.I am glad and I admire that you are not ashamed of your roots.
Good job,Anna!
Where do you buy that at?
Lisa King any drug store/pharmacy and vitamin shops should have biotin
Thank you for this. I've worn acrylic nails for 40 years,,every since they first came out when you built your own,,not tips.. I took them off 5 weeks ago,, and what a challenge I've got ahead of me....this has helped in many ways....thanks agin

Okapi&Wildebeest Omg same here! The struggle is real
Wow. You seem very knowledgeable about nail health! My nails have been in horrible shape for years. Thank you for your help.
Good luck on your journey Anna. Thanks for all of your advice.

Great video! I have always known that garlic makes them grow and makes them strong, the only downfall is that it turns your nails yellow! Idk why, but I continue to put some in clear nail polish also.

If you just slice one garlic clove and cut it and rub over your nails ; leave overnight the growth is very fast
This was really helpful,as my nails have a funnel problem at the tips which I am treating again

There is nerve damage but I've learned to live with it ;) Now you know
mei love this, im goanna try this out. but 1 quistion. what happend to your ring finger. no hate. i just wanna know
thank you very much!
I disagree I think it's important to keep at least a clear coat to help keep the nails from breaking so short and the lifting
Hi. This was very helpful. Just starting my journey. Did your ring finger come right? X
Very helpful. What is your plan afterwards? Will you continue to at least do polish and treatments in between?
I will continue with nail tutorials of course but still do my treatments in between as well. I will document it ;)
Looking forward to the journey. ;-)
wow!!! ty
It's been almost a year...so how are your nails now?
Ever.
Thank you!
are you from romania? That Farmec acetone is from here!
+Ana Popa visited there..
Si nu doar acetona si fares ulei de portocale si etc
I really liked you video very informative. How long do you think it will take for them to be healthy.. roughly ? Will it take more than two months.?
I bite my nails but I stopped 5 days ago
Juicy Tommy i used to bite my nails and I stopped by thinking about the after result of my nails if I bite them if u go back to bitting use the method I used because it rly works
me too! Hoppefully we’ll stop forever.
If this makes you stop biting them , i used to bite my nails and my front teeth became very fragile and started chipping and wearing down. Now i havr very sensitive teeth and i cant even bite my cuticles because it feels like ill brake my teeth lol. ):
SAMEEE!!!!! 😁
Same like literally
Where can you get the orange substitute? Tfs I will keep this video so I can make my nail look healthier;)
Thanks. Xxx
Thank you for the video, it's really helpful! Also when I started eating vegan, my nails improved like crazy, so that might also help somebody :)
Thanx Bekka
Great video, fyi you can purchase essential garlic oil
Thank you so much for your time and help :)
thank you .
