1 salt to taste
1/4 cup butter

y’all do NOT put it on 500 degrees.. i did that and left it in there for 35 mins. when i opened it, it was all burnt on one side 😔 i will put it on 450 just to be safe next time.
Yes you are correct 500 is too high, I apologize
I used 300° for 45mns, perfection.. No need to turn to other side.
Some oven temps aren't the same as what they're set to also, keep that in mind.
I did 500 and it came out fine
If you cook them on a rack ...like a cooling rack, on a cookie sheet lined with foil, they will cook on all sides with mess or burning.... crispy and perfect. High heat is best!!!
Wingstop Louisiana rub is my favorite chicken wing flavor, thus far. I've been looking for a recipe that mimics it. So, I am trying this tonight. I don't have a premixed Creole seasoning, so I found a recipe online and will make that. I plan on lowering the temp to 400- I saw the comments saying 500 was too high- and baking for 30 minutes on each side. So, I am obviously deviating from this recipe a little bit. I will post an edit afterwards on how they come out. I plan to serve with tater tots and raw baby carrots.
EDIT: They came out amazing. I could taste the lemon from the lemon pepper a bit more than I anticipated, but very good.
Thanks so much for your amazing recipe. I made this last night, being careful with the oven temperature around 350°F for 50 minutes. You are right about seasoning the wings prior to baking, followed by the dry rub. The wings came out so good that I wished I had made more of them. I have bookmarked your recipe and am looking forward to making it again!!

I've always used my baking rack to make chicken wings because I got tired of the frying mess. The only difference is I coat my chicken with olive oil then season, then bake. Thanks for ending with the dry rub recipe. I will be trying this. #keepcooking

I find baked chicken to be just as tasty as deep fried when it's done right. Deep fryers are way too much work, especially cleanup, and not so good for your health as baking. It's all about the sauces and seasonings. My grandfather always said "the sauce is the soul of the food".
